Blue Machinery (Spares) Ltd are a leading supplier of spare parts for materials processing and handling equipment. They are committed to providing continued customer support long after any plant or equipment has been delivered, installed, and commissioned.

A big reason behind the company’s continued success within a highly competitive marketplace is the people working within the business. The Blue Spares team now has a combined experience of over 250 years, with two employees celebrating their 20th year and another three in their 18th year with the business.

With one of the most experienced and knowledgeable teams within the industry, Blue Spares go above and beyond to help increase the uptime of their customers. Using a combination of their own expertise and a large database of machine manuals, the Blue Spares account managers can help their customers identify required parts via a variety of communication platforms. They also have portal access to all the manufacturers parts systems for rapid response on availability and pricing so they can deal with enquiries swiftly. Within the first month of joining the company, all account managers go out on the road shadowing a Field Service Engineer from one of the regional Blue businesses. This gives them the best possible insight into how the machines work and how they are maintained. The account managers also go out on monthly site visits to maintain relationships with their customers and get a feel for their demands.

Leading from Experience

The sales department is led by highly experienced Sales Director, Chris Thomas. Chris has worked at Blue Spares for 18 years, starting off as an Account Manager before being promoted to Sales Manager, and in more recent years becoming Sales Director.

Chris has extensive experience in dealing with every type of machine in Blue’s portfolio and has received training from all our OEM brands including Powerscreen, Doppstadt and Fuchs.

In addition to the main HQ in Warrington, Blue Spares have a separate satellite team based out of Blue Scotland’s Stirling depot. With a large stock holding the Stirling team work closely with Blue Scotland to offer a localised service to bring the parts closer to our Scottish customers.

The Blue Spares sales department has recently seen a restructure which mirrors the setup of the procurement team and the wider sales teams within the regional Blue businesses. The new setup consists of several teams which specialise in the areas of crushing & screening, recycling, attachments, internal sales and sales support.

Sales Support Team

The sales support team features both office and field based support functions. Wayne Bennett is a Customer Support Engineer for the Fuchs brand. Wayne is Blue Machinery’s ‘Fuchs guru’ and supports customers to ensure that their machines are productive as possible. He does this by constantly monitoring telematics for every machine in the field to eradicate faults by flagging errors, advising the Blue regional businesses where visits are required and supporting the Blue Spares account managers with part identification.

The office-based support team is comprised of Sap Riley and Ben Dickson. These two individuals are tasked with making sure that all Blue Spares customers receive a best in class customer service.

Crushing & Screening Team

As well as being the UK’s authorised supplier of OEM Powerscreen Parts, Blue Spares can also supply parts for all crushing and screening brands. Alongside this the team supply parts for Terex Washing Systems and MDS.

The crushing & screening team has over 12 years of working experience at Blue Spares. The team based in the Warrington HQ is headed up by Andy Shaw (Senior Account Manager), who works alongside Zak Astley (Account Manager) and Tom Harper (Account Manager).

Ricky Miller (Senior Account Manager) is based out of the Stirling satellite depot and supports customers in Scotland with parts for crushing, screening and washing equipment. Before joining Blue Spares, Ricky worked for Powerscreen as a helpdesk advisor. As well as covering Powerscreen he also supported Terex Washing Systems, Evoquip and Finlay. As a result, he is well equipped in machine specifications and the identification of parts through technical faults and descriptions.

The team have completed the full online Powerscreen university training courses, as well as receiving training on the MDS and Terex Washing systems products.

Recycling Team

With a combined service of nearly 15 years, the recycling team support customers with genuine OEM parts for brands including Doppstadt, Fuchs, Morbark, General Kinematics and more. They also cover any spare part requirements for any brand of material handler, shredder, grinder, trommel, chipper, baler, static recycling plant and everything in between.

Jonathan Dennan leads the team with over 11 years of experience at Blue Machinery, and having spent 8 of those years at Blue Central as a Service Manager he appreciates the demands and urgency around reducing machine downtime for customers.

This team also includes Chris Ducker and Thomas Dean who have had extensive training on both the Doppstadt and Fuchs range of machines during trips over to the facilities in Germany With Blue Machinery acquiring the Morbark dealership last year, the team recently did some training on the range of grinders and chippers.

Internal Sales Team

The Internal sales team consists of Dean Barlow (Intercompany Sales Team Leader) who supports the Blue Central and Blue Southern regional businesses and Ryan Richardson (Intercompany Sales) who takes care of Blue Scotland and Blue Ireland.

Dean and Ryan supply parts to the regional Blue businesses for when they are carrying out servicing work and they play a vital role in keeping the cogs turning across the entire group.

Attachments Team

Following the restructure of Murray Plant in 2022, Blue Spares became the authorised supplier of genuine OEM parts for Rammer, Fortress, Allu, Xcentric, Pladdet and more recently VTN. The attachments team covers customers that are running breakers, demolition tools, mobile shears, grabs, crushing buckets, screening buckets, rippers, quick coupling systems and any other type of excavator attachment.

The team is split between the two locations, as Jim Stewart operates out of the Stirling satellite depot and Dominic Roberts is based at the Warrington HQ. Jim joined Blue Spares from Murray Plant on the back of the restructure and Dominic has previous experience supporting customers with crushing and screening equipment before making the move over to cover attachments.
