CAN I BRING IN AN OUTSIDE CATERER? At this time, Blue Ridge School does not provide DO YOU ALLOW ALCOHOL BE SERVED? Alcohol is allowed when campus is closed to students, such as holiday, spring and summer breaks.
WHAT ALCOHOL CAN BE SERVED AT MY WEDDING? Blue Ridge school does not have an ABC license with the state of Virginia. If your caterer does not already have an ABC license, you must obrain a banquet or caterer ABC license issued by the state of Virginia. A copy of this license must be shared with Blue Ridge School xx days prior to your wedding. All alcohol is required to be served by a bartender. MAY I SCHEDULE MY REHEARSAL AT BLUE RIDGE SCHOOL? Two months prior to your wedding, please contact Kathrin Darnell to schedule your rehearsal. You are allotted one hour of time to rehearse in the week leading up to your wedding. WHAT IF IT RAINS ON MY WEDDING DAY?
DO I NEED TO PURCHASE EVENT INSURANCE? Yes. 24-hour Event Insurance is required as coverage for you, your Vendors and your guests. WHAT FURNISHINGS ARE INCLUDED? At this time, Blue Ridge School does not offer any additional furnishings. If any rented decorations need to be delivered, those items may be dropped off and picked up 24-hours prior to/after your wedding. WHAT DECORATIONS ARE INCLUDED? WHAT IF THERE IS A STORM OR POWER OUTAGE? SHOULD I HIRE A WEDDING COORDINATOR? Blue Ridge School does not provide any day-of coordination on-property of your wedding. WHAT IS THE PAYMENT SCHEDULE? • We require 50% of your venue fee up-front and 6-months in advance of your date the balance is due. • 14 days prior to your wedding, your final headcount and final payment is due
DO YOU ALLOW DECORATIONS? Candlelight is permitted with the use of a glass enclosure (i.e. votive, hurricane). No open flames, such as candelabras, are permitted. No décor that will leave permanent damage is allowed (i.e. nails, staples or tape). Use of decor involving birdseed, rice and glitter are not allowed. Lavender, rose petals, and bubbles are wonderful alternatives. CAN I HAVE A TENT PLACED ON THE FRONT LAWN? Yes. A rental company can place a tent on the front lawn
24-hours prior to your wedding. The tent rental company will need to work with the Blue Ridge School maintenance team regarding placement and water lines on the front lawn. CAN SPARKLERS BE USED AT THE SEND-OFF? Yes. Sparklers wands are permitted outdoors on the sidewalks only. Receptacles must be provided for disposal. We cannot allow paper wsh lanterns due to state regulations. CAN I HIRE A BAND AND/OR A DJ? Yes. Electrical can be supplied to a tent on the Front Lawn or to the Battle House Terrace. All sound my conclude by 12am midnight WHERE SHOULD GUESTS PARK?
CAN MY DOG PARTICIPATE IN OUR WEDDING? Blue Ridge School welcomes leashed pets in our outdoor spaces. WITH THE FRONT GATES, HOW DO GUESTS ACCESS CAMPUS? You and your guests will be provided with an access code that will only work for the xx hours of your wedding day. HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO CLEAN UP?
Blue Ridge School is not able to provide event clean up at this time. You have 24-hours after the wedding to clean up. You are responsible for returning rented venues to their originial state including but not limited to removal of all personal property, trash disposal, furniture and decor items. AS AN ALUM, WHO IS ALLOWED TO RECEIVE MY DISCOUNTED FACILITIES FEES? This discount is allowed to be passed along to your immediate family, which includes parents, siblings and children.
