I have visited the Holy Sepulcher many times and found it crowded and confusing. But this time, and much to my surprise, it became the place that I felt closest to Jesus. Preceding Pages:

Under a watchful eye, pilgrims visit the birthplace of Jesus at the Church of the Nativity. Guided for the first time through the Palestine of Jesus, I find my faith enriched by the experience and my senses unsettled by the continuity of religious conflict in “the center of the world. Ginny Hamill

A depiction of the visitation of the magi. There is a story that the painting saved the church during one of its many raids over the centuries. it is said that the when Persians attacked, they saw the painting, and magi looking like them and dressed like them, and decided to spare the church. A recollection by Reverend Oran Warder

Masada, The Judean Desert, and the Dead Sea The St. George’s College course helped pilgrims fully experience the many layers of the theological landscape of the Holy Land. From the Hebrew Scriptures, to the life of Jesus, the witness of the early Church, and the complex challenges of the present day, the journey was both enlightening and inspiring. This was a soul nourishing and life changing adventure. The Reverend Oran Warder

Christ Church,Nazareth

One of the most moving moments of the pilgrimage for me was our worship opportunity at Christ Church in Nazareth. Interacting with the clergy, and congregation was one of the most vivid examples of how the Church is truly a global community. I will always remember the rector stating that our presence shows them they are not alone. I will always remember how that day filled me with hope and faith for the future. Heidi Schneble
