We’ve come a long way since Mary Frances Clarke and the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary completed

their difficult journey across the prairie in 1843. But we’ve never forgotten their sacrifice and vision for what Clarke University could and should be. Today, we remember and celebrate the many women who have instructed and inspired generations of Clarke students to make a real and lasting difference in the world.

This list represents all the incredible BVMs who were part of the Clarke family through the years. You’ll likely recognize several of the names here and recall fondly the
