BROOK
My name is Brook Mortensen I was born and raised on the northeastern plains of Colorado I come from a long line of farmers and ranchers that have poured their blood, sweat, and tears into this land before me My family farm was named a Centennial Farm in 2016, which means the farm has remained a working farm/ranch in the Mortensen family continuously for over 100 years. I am very proud of my last name and feel very blessed to have had the upbringing I had.
I participated in 4-H since I was of age, showing livestock was always my favorite. I started dance classes when I was three years old and never ventured away from it. Although you wouldn’t believe it, because according to my mom I’m a “bull in a china shop”, I am a ballerina Now, I swing dance or two step anytime I have the chance! Although free time is not something I have have a lot of, when I do have some I love to be on the back of a horse, at a concert, or spending time with my family and friends
After high school I left my little hometown for 4 years to go to college where I affirmed that I was not made for the city. You know the saying “ you can take the girl out of the country but you can’t take the country out of the girl” that is definitely me. After college I ventured back home to small town America where my heart is at home. I spend my Monday-Thursdays 8-5ish in scrubs cleaning teeth.
I have always had a love for fashion, and because of my lifestyle my passion is western fashion You can always guarantee that I will show up overdressed, and wearing 14 layers of jewelry haha! I aim to always create unique, memorable fashion statements Fast fashion is not for me, I attempt to stand apart with my clothing Being a cowgirl doesn’t have to look a certain way, wether you ’ re working on the ranch or getting gussied up for a night out.
