Forever Motown

NOV 15 –16

Welcome

Since 2013 the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre has established itself as the premier cultural and performing arts venue in northern Wake County – and beyond. For over 10 years, our guests have witnessed nationally renowned performers, including The Malpass Brothers, Marcus Anderson, Celtic Angels, Chairmen of the Board, The Drifters, Shana Tucker, Band of Oz, A.J. Croce, and many others – not in a larger, neighboring community – but right here in the heart of downtown Wake Forest.

If you’re familiar with the Renaissance Centre, then you know that most of our Main Stage Performances sell out – many within a few hours of tickets going on sale. This year – to keep up with the incredible demand – we’re offering multiple performances of several shows.

We love the families that visit the Renaissance Centre, so we’re presenting two family-friendly performances this season. Jeff Boyer’s Big Bubble Bonanza will amaze you in September, while TheaterWorks USA’s Pete the Cat will get the whole family rocking in April.

We’ll jazz things up in October with The Legacy of Jazz: The First Time Ever I Heard Your Voice and in November we’ll have you tapping your feet, snapping your fingers, and dancing in the aisles during Forever Motown.

In December, we’ll celebrate the holidays with the music of Frankie Valli in The Four C Notes: Seasons Greetings, while in January Comedian Cathy Ladman will help shake the winter blues by tickling your funny bone.

We’re making date night easy for you in February with a special Valentines Day dinner show, Broadway in Love.

The Wake Forest Film Festival continues to grow and offer firstrate films by many of today’s most promising and accomplished local, national, and international filmmakers. If you attended last year’s film festival, then you’ll likely remember the screening of Sloane: A Jazz Singer. In addition to receiving numerous Best Documentary awards, Sloane received the ultimate nod by being screened at the Cannes Film Festival in France. That’s just one example of the quality of films we’ll screen in March.

Many of you have inquired about the risers which have been a huge hit the last few years. I’m happy to report that the risers will be in place for Forever Motown and The Four C Notes: Season Greetings.

Tickets for the Main Stage performances go on sale to the public on Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 10 am. Our Patrons will have the opportunity to purchase their tickets eight days earlier on Tuesday, Aug. 20, at 10 am, while our Friends of the Centre can purchase theirs on Wednesday, Aug. 21, at 10 am.

Whether you’re young in years or young at heart, the Renaissance Centre offers more than a little something for everyone. So, join us here in Downtown Wake Forest and experience for yourself why we’re not simply “imagining” the possibilities – we’re “realizing” them!

Big Bubble Bonanza

We are excited to kick off the season with Jeff Boyer’s Big Bubble Bonanza. See the newest, funniest, zany spectacular from world-famous, Guinness Book of World Records-holding, master bubble wrangler Jeff Boyer, as he takes bubbles to the max. Mixing comedy, music, and interactive bubble-magic, Jeff engages and delights audiences of all ages. It’s a sensoryfriendly extravaganza for the whole family!
