WELCOME TO SPRING JANICE ANDERSON, RICK HEROFF, ALEJANDRO REYNOSO
We are so excited for these last 7 weeks of school as these are often the most fun times for our Staff, students, and their families. We have numerous afterschool events that we hope you will all be able to join us for like our 1st annual Spring Carnival and our Cinco de Mayo Celebration. Please feel free to invite any friends and neighbors to join in our festivities. Look for more information about these events on our website, newsletter and social media. We would like to welcome Alejandro Reynoso back to our school and to his new role with our Administrative Team as Dean of Students. We will all continue working together to ensure the academic, emotional and social success of all students. As an administrative team we will work together to ensure the safety and security of all students. Please know that you can reach out to any one of us for any support that you may need. We value working together with all of our families and the community to make sure that our students have the opportunities to achieve and find their unique successes as they navigate through their individual educational paths.
We are halfway through the school year and our Juniors will start preparing for college applications soon. Here’s two amazing resources students should continue to take advantage of while preparing for their future.
Counselor Corner BRIDGETTE FOSTER BFOSTER@ECARVADA.ORG The Faculty and Graduating Class of The Early College of Arvada announce the commencement exercises friday evening, may twentieth two thousand twenty-two at six o’clock arvada center for the arts and humanities each graduate will receive 6 tickets to the graduation ceremony. Must have ticket for admission. Graduating students are to arrive at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities by 4:45 p.m. for a 5:00 p.m. rehearsal. More information to follow Graduation Logistics Location: Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities 6901 Wadsworth Blvd, Arvada, CO 80003 Time: May 20th, 2022 at 6:00pm Seniors MUST arrive by 5:00pm Tickets: 6 Tickets per family. Your graduate will receive tickets on May 1st, more information to follow. Graduation Gowns: Graduation gowns are available to rent through ECA. If you wish to purchase a graduation gown, the cost is $30. Please be prepared to return or purchase your gown at the conclusion of the graduation ceremony. Graduation Caps, Cords, and Stoles: Seniors may keep their graduation caps and any cords awarded. Stoles must be returned or purchased for an additional cost with a graduation gown at the conclusion of the graduation ceremony. Seniors will receive their cap, gown, cords, and stoles at the Senior Dinner, May 17th 5:30pm - 7:30pm.

Hello Griffin Families, We have some exciting events coming up so please mark your calendars: 1. Parent/Student ESL (English Second Language) class is every Tuesday from 4:306:30 p.m. https://ucdenver.zoom.us/j/94353019491 2. No School Friday, April 15th. 3. Friday, April 22nd – Spanish Club will be selling “Special Edition” snacks all day along with their general snacks. Be sure to bring some extra change that day! 4. Student Council is sponsoring an Earth Day cleanup day on April 23rd from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Students are encouraged to volunteer. Volunteer hours will count toward the required hours for graduation. Some teachers are also offering extra credit for participating students. Please see a Student Council member for more details or to sign up. We also invite parents, staff, friends, etc. to participate. 5. The week of April 25th ECA is hosting shadow days for current students. Eighth (8th) graders are invited to shadow 11th & 12th graders to get ready for high school next year. We are very excited to offer this opportunity to our students again! 6. Friday, April 29th ECA is having a carnival from 2:30-6 p.m. Everyone is invited! Bring your family and friends. Come and enjoy carnival games, food trucks, raffles and more. The dunk tank will feature some of your favorites! 7. May 5th is our Cinco de Mayo festival from 3:30 – 7:30 p.m. We will have food, music, low rider show, culture dance, a mechanical bull and more.

8. Prom Reminder - Prom is Friday, May 6th at the Applewood Golf Course. See a Student Council member for more information. The theme is Enchanted Forest. ***The Longmont Library is having a free prom attire giveaway this Sunday. May 20th - Graduation at the Arvada Center for Performing Arts. More information to come. No school this day. 13. May 26th - Last day of school and 8th Grade Continuation. More information to come.

& SERVICE PROGRAM SUMMER CAMPS AND SKATE NIGHT
Summer Camps It's that time of year again: time to figure out what to do with kids when school is out for the summer. This summer, we have several opportunities for your student to have fun while learning. Each camp is FREE, thanks to grant funding through the ACES 21st Century Learning Center. June 6-10: Fine Arts Camp Join us for Dance, Drama and Visual Art June 6-10: Life Skills Camp Special Education students design a menu, budget, and cook June 13-17: Computer Camp Coding, Robotics, Raspberry Pi June 20-24: Sports Camp June 27-30th Field Trips ECA's Community Skate Event Join us on April 27th, from 6-8 pm at Skate City to celebrate finishing our state testing! Kids and their families skate for free (including skate rental), so bring the whole family. Families may purchase $4 meal deals if they choose. We hope to see you there
