It was established in 1905 by the Heliopolis Oasis Company, headed by the Belgian industrialist Baron Empain with its famous palace ( Baron Palace) The Population of Heliopolis was estimated at around 142.968 individuals.

Cairo International Airport was built in 1942 as a collaboration between the American and British forces during World War ii. It was named Paine Field Airport in Relation to the US military soldiers. After the end of world war ii shifted the responsibility of the airport to the Egyptian Side.

DESIGN FOR LIFE

With Cairo Airport being the prominent Airport in Egypt and many hotels are opening close to it, Sheraton Hotels were built around 1982 in the area now called”masakenSheraton,” which is considered in the northeast of Cairo. And Masr El Gadida Company started their first project in the area “Saqr Quraish” in 1986.

After “Saqr Quraish” was built, Masr El Gadida Company started expanding South to Tawoniat, East to Masr A;Tameer, And from the beginning of the ‘90s, started direct real estate investment to the West by building middle and high-class residential projects. In that period, some of Sheraton’s most common landmarks were opened, El Seddik Mosque, Saint Michael Angel Church.

Masr El Gadida Company started selling lands in public auctions, and some of them were reserved for the council of ministers, and that area is now called” The Ministers Square”. Since then, Masaken Al Sheraton continued to expand and grow, and the most recent project is yet to be finished and is directly behind Almaza Military Airport Next to the Ministers Square.
