DAYs 1-2 Arrive in eDMonton, AlbertA

Alberta’s capital city is always celebrating – from arts and culture to food and wine, dragon boats, winter and even accordions. Explore the new Royal Alberta Museum showcasing the history of Alberta’s people, animals and landscapes; visit the famous farmers’ market in Old Strathcona or wander the galleries and shops along Whyte Avenue and 124 Street.

Hop on a beautifully restored vintage streetcar for a scenic historic tour, glide along the city’s pathways on a Segway tour or take a helicopter trip to get a bird’s eye view of the city.

DAY 3 eDMonton - nortH bAttleForD

240 miles. Leaving Alberta behind, head to North Battleford, a community with a rich history. Fort Battleford, established in 1876, played a signifi cant role in the confl ict known as the North

West Resistance. Now a National Historic Site, Fort Battleford represents a period in history when Battleford was the capital of the Northwest Territories. Further north, Cochin Lighthouse stands watch over beautiful Jackfi sh Lake. Visitors climb 153 steps to reach the lighthouse. The spectacular view of the lakes and the surrounding prairie are well worth the eff ort.

DAYs 4-5 nortH bAttleForD - prince Albert np

185 miles. Today you will drive to Prince Albert National Park (PANP), which delights visitors with its forests, lakes, beaches, trails and resident wildlife. Its centrepiece is Waskesiu Lake, which boasts long sandy beaches and an impressive marina. The park is also home to Canada‘s only herd of Plains bison, which can be viewed roaming in their historic range.

DAYs 6-7 prince Albert np - sAskAtoon

140 miles. Saskatoon, Saskatchewan’s largest city, is described as being the best of both worlds – dynamic urban energy in sync with nature. A stroll through downtown Saskatoon offers plenty of shopping as well as cultural attractions. In the evening, take in the sunset while enjoying a scenic riverside walk.

On the city’s northern edge sits Wanuskewin, a National Historic Site that has yielded evidence of human occupation dating back 6,400 years. Authentic First Nations culture and traditions are experienced through dance performances, exhibitions of Indigenous art and hands-on activities. An onsite restaurant serves traditional Indigenous cuisine with a contemporary twist.

DAY 8 sAskAtoon - Moose JAw

140 miles. Today’s journey leads to Moose Jaw, whose name in Cree means ‘a warm place by the river’. The city’s downtown is packed with heritage buildings, unique shops and excellent restaurants. At the Tunnels of Moose Jaw, immerse yourself in the world of Prohibition-era bootleggers during a Chicago Connection Tour, or experience the life of a Chinese immigrant working at an underground laundry on a Passage to Fortune Tour.

DAYs 9-11 Moose JAw - cYpress Hills

235 miles. Enjoy cowboy comfort with history and hospitality! DAYs 12-13 Drive to DruMHeller

205 miles. Drumheller is your base for visiting the Canadian Badlands and Dinosaur Provincial Park. The Badlands were created over 10,000 years ago when glacier floodwaters carved the Red Deer Valley and is an area with rich deposits of fossils and dinosaur bones that have been unearthed from 75 million years ago. Drive the Dinosaur Trail and visit the Royal Tyrrell Museum which houses exhibits of dinosaur bones and fossils from the area.

DAY 14 Drive to cAlgArY, AlbertA

85 miles. Calgary is located 90 minutes from the Rocky Mountains and includes attractions such as the Calgary Tower, Glenbow Museum, the Botanical Gardens, great shopping and a variety of restaurants. It also plays host to the annual Calgary Stampede.
