Cesenatico & Valverde the gem of the Adriatic waiting to be discovered
A totally flexible holiday destination to suit everyone
Cesenatico
A gem of the Adriatic waiting to be discovered
Since before I can remember, my parents have taken my brother and me on holiday to Cesenatico, this unspoilt paradise on the Adriatic Coast of Italy. Now, 42 years later, I return year after year with my own family – that is how special Cesenatico is to me. It has something for everyone and is like sunshine holidays used to be – easy going, not over the top and enjoyed by the people of that country, not just the British. This is a traditional Italian holiday resort, undiscovered by the Brits, which attracts couples and families alike. Many people speak English, and we think you’ll go home feeling like you’ve enjoyed another country and not just a purpose built package resort. Every year when I go back to my hoteliers and their families for feedback I am always told the same thing; how wonderful it is to greet British guests, and how they have made new friends. To me, this shows how Cesenatico is still the little gem it has always been, where service and family pride still shine through, where it is always a pleasure to welcome new guests. For 2010 we are giving our guests even more flexibility. Any date, any duration. We look forward to welcoming you to Cesenatico. Arrivederci

Cesenatico
A gem of the Adriatic waiting to be discovered
Cesenatico and Valverde: an Adriatic gem The sandy coastline extends for over seven kilometres from Zadina to Cesenatico with pinewoods stretching down to the beach providing a cool escape from the sun. The beautiful multicoloured sails of the boats in the maritime museum make a lasting impression. Leonardo Da Vinci is renowned as one of the world’s top painters, but he also turned his hand to engineering and designed Cesenatico’s canal harbour to create a masterpiece which can still be enjoyed today. The harbour is lined with restaurants renowned throughout Italy, while the broad tree-lined avenues give Cesenatico a relaxing feel which is further enhanced by the squares of the old town centre. There are several beaches which make up Cesenatico including Valverde, Villamarina, Centro, Ponente and Zadina Pineta, so it caters for people of all ages. The soft sandy beaches slope down gradually to the sea, providing a safe and comfortable playground for children. Numerous beach cafes provide great meals and aperitifs while you enjoy those fun filled days. After the beach, there are many ways of passing the time, enjoy pleasant walks along the harbour or in the splendid seaside gardens and the colourful market stalls, and you will find shops along the seafront and in the town centre. In the evening stroll through craft and flea markets, while enjoying freshly made ice cream from one of the many parlours.
Sunbathing the Italian way Cesenatico has some of the safest beaches in Italy and plenty of play areas. How many times have you been on holiday, only to get up early to save a good place on the beach? And then someone walks over your towel or clothes and sands gets everywhere! This is not a problem in Italy, because on most beaches you pay for your beach umbrellas and sun-beds and they are yours for the duration of your holiday. However, most of the hotels we feature provide beach sun-beds and beach umbrellas free of charge. You can arrive at any time of the day and nobody will have taken your place, so you don’t have to rush and can enjoy that well-deserved lie-in. You can also use the beach showers, toilets and changing rooms.

Cultural activities MARITIME MUSEUM Unique in Italy, the Maritime Museum in Cesenatico is located in the oldest and most characteristic part of the port. It should be seen as a synthesis of many centuries of maritime history and the bringing together of small and large links bound together by actual vessels, fishing and sea-borne trade. The museum illustrates the town’s historical identity which has always been tied to the sea. ANTIQUARIUM Historical and archaeological sources prove that a small Roman centre existed in Cesenatico (2nd and 1st centuries BC). The Antiquarium has a documentary display on the archaeological reconstruction of this ancient Roman site together with examples of many items of every day use including pottery, oil lamps, coins, tools, statues and fine crafts.

The food of the Adriatic Cesenatico rates as one of the best towns in Italy for gastronomy, with a cuisine based on centuries-old traditions. In the old fishermen’s quarter along the bank of the canal harbour are many restaurants that are supplied daily with fresh fish, and there is also an abundance of family-run trattorie and pizzerie which pride themselves on high standards.
Wine and Dine route through the hills of Forli and Cesena Some self drive touring ideas have been put together to make it easy for visitors to stumble upon the vine covered hills, hiding away farms offering tasting direct from the producers to delight your senses. Not just a beach holiday... URBINO Urbino, the pearl of the Italian Renaissance and the birth place of the famous painter Raffaello. The Ducale Palace of Federico de Montefeltro, attracts many visitors from all over the world. FORLI Located on the Po river valley, only an hour’s drive from Bologna and the seaside resorts of the Adriatic, Forli is easily reached by road or rail. Founded by the Romans in the second century B.C, the town is rich in culture and the historic centre preserves important traces of its past, including the cathedral, the convent of San Domenico, which is a now a museum, and Piazza della Vittoria, characterised by 1920s architecture. Forli is a University city, so there is always plenty going on, from performing arts to the simpler joys of getting together with friends. CESENA Cesena, with is only about 10 miles from Cesenatico and is located at the foot of the Apennines. It was also a Roman settlement and dates back approximately 100 years before the founding of Forli. Its castle dates from 1380 and its Gothic cathedral from about 1500, and it also has several monasteries. Some of the ancient walls remain, and the Church and Monastery of Osservanza dates from 1460 and is well worth a visit. Like most cities in Italy, Cesena enjoys its festivals. The festival of St John is held in June each year and honours its patron Saint, and events devoted to agriculture, gastronomy, music and sport also give the city plenty of character. Forli SAN LEO The village of San Leo seems unreachable, rising up amongst the clouds and clinging to a huge rock. The fortress of San Leo is one of the most important constructions dating back to Medieval times, and the rooms and courtyards showing exhibits of ancient arms are worth visiting. BOLOGNA Boasting one of the country’s great medieval cityscapes – an eye-catching ensemble of redbrick palazzi, Renaissance towers and 40km of arcaded porticoes – Bologna is a wonderful alternative to the north’s more famous cities. Italy’s culinary capital, it’s an attractive, animated place; a large student population (Bologna boasts the oldest university in Europe), ensure a vitality that’s often missing in many of Romagna’s smaller towns. The Via Indipendenza is the heart of Bologna, with some restaurants decorated by the beautiful frescoes of the Carracci brothers.

We are able to offer a tailor-made wedding service in the Lake Garda, Tuscany, Sorrento, Sicily and Adriatic Riviera areas. While we are more than happy to use our experience to advise and help you plan the ceremony and celebration of your dreams, the choice and decisions are yours to make. It is possible to mix Italian and English traditions to create your own unique and memorable day weather it is an intimate occasion for just the two of you or for your family and friends as well. We will give you advice and assistance on all your legal and religious requirements which include preparation of the required documentation in England, Italian administration fees, British consulate fees and interpreter services during the sworn declaration and at the wedding ceremony. By utilizing our contacts in Italy, we can provide additional wedding services such as flowers, photographic and video coverage of your wedding, hairdressing and beauty treatments, carriages, children’s entertainment and music. The wedding breakfast can reflect not only your preferred dishes but also a combination of traditional Italian and regional dishes. Subject to your requirements, we can advise on suitable dishes for formal banquets or festive buffets. Italian cuisine is inclined to vary between regions and it is possible to take advantage of these variations to serve dishes that would be considered expensive luxuries in England.
Wedding Ceremonies There are different types of wedding ceremonies:
Religious Ceremony - non Catholic Ceremonies can be organized on request. The Italian authorities do not recognize the religious ceremonies of some denominations in which case for the marriage to be valid a civil ceremony is required prior to the religious one.
Catholic Religious Ceremony The Catholic Church requires more documentation than if you were to get married in England and this therefore requires additional administrative time.
Civil Ceremony This ceremony takes place in Town Halls and is conducted by the Mayor or his officials in Italian therefore an official interpreter is required.

The Scheme does not apply to claims for an amount greater than £5,000 per person. There is also a limit of £25,000 per booking form. Neither does it apply to claims which are solely in respect of physical injury or illness or their consequences. The Scheme can however deal with compensation claims which include an element of minor injury or illness subject to a limit of £1,000 on the amount the arbitrator can award per person in respect of this element. The application for arbitration and Statement of Claim must be received by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators within nine months of the date of return from the holiday. Outside this time limit arbitration under the Scheme may still be available if the company agrees, but the ABTA Code does not require such agreement. However there will be no change within 30 days of your departure. In the case of a small variation, an amount equivalent to 2% of the price of your travel arrangements, which excludes insurance premiums and any amendment charges, will be absorbed or retained. You will be charged for the amount over and above that, plus an administration charge of £1.00 per person together with an amount to cover agents commission. If this means that you have to pay an increase of more than 10% of the price of your travel arrangements, you will have the option of accepting a change to another holiday if we are able to offer one (if this is of equivalent or higher quality you will not have to pay more but if it is of lower quality you will be refunded the difference in price), or cancelling and receiving a full refund of all monies paid, except for any amendment charges. We will consider an appropriate refund of insurance premiums paid if you can show that you are unable to transfer or reuse your policy.
