The Power of a Gift During lunch on November 20th, we participated in Operation Christmas Child. Useful supplies and fun toys such as blankets, pencils, and Legos are stuffed in a box. The boxes are then sent to the needy children who don’t get Christmas gifts. Not all children can enjoy Christmas like how we do, and Christmas isn’t a day to receive presents. It’s a day to give to others. Operation Christmas Child was a great opportunity to not only give, but also give to the ones in need. One thing on my Christmas wish list is for the children to be able to put a smile on their faces and enjoy their Christmas. -Joshua Tong

Candidates Training Conference On Saturday, December 5th, I myself alongside two Glen A. Wilson Key clubbers attended CTC. CTC is a training conference held annually at the Kiwanis Professional Center. Besides the Region 13 LTG's, district governor Joshua Nuesca and district secretary Amir Patel were in attendance. With various workshops and various breakout sessions with other LTG's I was taught a great amount of material. From learning the roles of LTG, I also learned more about how to run, how to prepare a speech for conclave, and how to answer caucus questions to the best of ability. Going to CTC reconfirmed my idea to run for LTG and I hope to run for LTG for the upcoming term. -Dylan Tran Executive Assistant, Vice President

A Final Bark from the News Editor Hello everyone! Tis the season of giving, so make sure to give gifts to your friends, family, and also to those in need. Over the break, be sure to set some time aside to volunteer and spread the gift of kindness at shelters and other places of service. Gifts don’t have to be material objects or expensive technology. They can be simple, such as compliments, hugs, and other actions of kindness. The intangible is the most valuable gift because it is truly individual and heartfelt. It will always brighten up one’s mood without fail. They are signs that someone cares for you; thus, you are significant in this world still. Kindness and compassion hold immense power in which people feel too intimidated to use it in certain situations. Do not restrain that power in a world where there is meager happiness and excess negativity. The more we express positivity, the more people will do the same. Although some of us may be too shy to do that, remember that small ac-

tions accumulate and the end results will show. Strive to be active, kind, and amazing, and keep your spirits up! Happy Holidays!
