For the 2018 season Dolomite presents a rich collection with important new features, such as the expansion of the Mountain Approach category, for a discipline with an increasing number of fans. Dolomite’s new Crodarossa range accommodates the requirements of the modern way of spending time in the mountains – light, fast, athletic. The development of the Steinbock Low Gtx 2.0 typifies Dolomite’s vision of continually updating its products without losing their identity.

SUMMARIES

DAS is the construction system used to produce most of the models in the Dolomite collection. Its aim is to ensure that the internal shape of the footwear follows the anatomy of the foot itself as closely as possible, and to comply with the natural biomechanics of the foot.

MOULDED MIDSOLE

DOLOMITE FIT

The midsoles are moulded to faithfully reproduce the anatomy of the last.

By keeping the impact of footstrike to a minimum and facilitating natural movements, extraordinary levels of comfort and safety can be achieved.

In this way, firm contact is ensured between the foot and the ground, creating smooth rolling and stable, safe support.

Dolomite’s anatomical and traditional lasts are the result of years of experience in the footwear business.

DAS shoes are designed to meet the demands of different sporting activities, carefully balancing performance, comfort, lightness, reliability and sturdiness.

They are constantly updated to keep pace with evolving trends in outdoor activities and with consumer demand, which is shifting increasingly towards high-performance products. The anatomy of the foot, personal sensitivity and the types of activities pursued are all highly variable, leading us to develop our products on a range of different lasts in order to obtain different fits and meet the needs of all types of customers.

The upper part, made of EVA foam, absorbs impact shock, while the functions of the lower part, made of varyingly stiff materials, are anti-torsion and flexion stabilisation and control.

M.E.M - MOUNTAIN ESCURSION MODULE M.E.M., the acronym of Mountain Excursion Module, is a modular system producing soles with different technical features according to product type. Its interchangeable component parts are assembled in variable combinations in order to create platforms suitable for multiple activities.

ALP MIDSOLE The central element of the M.E.M. system is the ALP midsole in injected bi-density polyurethane. The design of the two components is strictly ergonomic. The rigid polyurethane performs an anti-twist and support function. The soft polyurethane absorbs impact. The heel area is shaped like an “accordion” to dissipate and return energy during the contact phase. The asymmetry between medial and lateral is clearly referred to the phases of the step: CONTACT PHASE - MIDSTANCE PHASE - PROPULSIVE PHASE.

SPRAY-PAINT TECHNOLOGY

This is a new technology for making polyurethane midsoles. It features a Hard Shell exterior which protects a Light Core interior. Hard Shell is a compact material designed to provide abrasion protection and support. Light Core is made of a new material called Whippy® and it serves to boost propulsive energy at each step.

WHIPPY® POLYURETHAN What is it? Whippy® is an SMP, a Shape Memory Polymer. It belongs to the category of Smart Materials, i.e. materials that can spring back from a deformed state (temporary shape) to their original one (permanent shape). What are its characteristics? Reactivity, lightness and resilience. ACCORDION EFFECT
