Editors’ Report
A
lready into March and the lack of riding has become embarrassing, although Cindy ticked off Indonesia in February with a scooter experience in Bali while I was sitting in the car in pouring rain on the way to work. We are doing a 10,000km cruise about the south-east over the month to make up for our poor showing, including riding into our final unexplored state - South Australia. Confident that we can turn a lot of country pubs and clubs around while we’re out there. See you on the road (if you’re in NSW/Vic/South Australia)! Cindy & Duncan

President’s Report
W
ell we have come to the end of another club year. The committee is rightly proud of the amount of activities that have been created and also some that have been revived over the last period. The life blood of any club are its volunteers and there are many that are not on the committee who add immense value to membership. Gary Bennett, Graham Healy and Rob Wynne along with Mark Morrissey come to mind. A club is only the sum of the activity level and camaraderie of its members and I am pleased that we seem to have both of those items improving each year. The club is over 61 years old now and we still have very active members from over 30 years ago. Ian Nye is an example who still attends many varied events along with others like Ron Durkin, Phil Gresham, Murray Brown etc etc. They all contribute to the “culture” of the club. The culture will remain relaxed, helpful and passionate as we evolve through time. The motorcycles change along with the gadgets and the interests of members but we will always be Queensland’s BMW Motorrad Club. The committee has strived to produce a full calendar every month with items that will attract both new members and our long servers. There is more work to do on this but we are getting close to “something for everyone”. The pressures of modern city living mean many are time poor so we aim to try and get everyone to participate at least once a month. Many will follow their passion and attend everything we put on. The variation makes us what we are. I think if your looking for an example of what the club means to many have a look at the 2019 Biscuit Ride.. A truly great event thoroughly enjoyed by many.
Long serving members are about to receive recognition by the way of badges they can proudly display and annual awards are being finalised and announced shortly.
The Cane Toad Rally (CTR) is back with a vengeance and a large gathering this year on Anzac weekend is guaranteed. We have several Back to the Bush planned and a Back to the Beach for August. Of course The BMW Clubs Australia National Motorrad Rally is the big one in this coming year. Registrations are open and looks as though it will be a well attended event. Bit of a back to basics Outback theme will suit the 40th year of the GS.
Financially the club is in good shape and we just keep making sound decisions without throwing everything out the door. Chasing membership is “a numbers game” and is not as important as providing the right culture and activity base. That will flow from happy members. Retaining ageing members is something I think is more important as that. Maintains what we are. The committee has worked tirelessly and I think done a sterling job. My thanks for their support and effort. The member support of the Committee has been been outstanding and we thank you for that and hope that will continue. It would be remiss not to thank the support the club has received from The RSL at Geebung. The facilities are first class and very inclusive. The staff have gone out of their way when we change things, fall ill after meetings etc and they really deserve our full thanks. The Annual General Meeting is on March 5th at Geebung RSL. Don’t miss it. Ride often and ride safe.

Treasurer’s Report
The past financial year has been one of consolidation of bookkeeping for your Treasurer, and the light is becoming brighter at the end of the tunnel having identified and (where possible) tidied up some historical issues. As agreed at the 2018 AGM the accounts have been checked and verified by an independent reviewer and his report is attached to the P&L and Balance Sheets as part of the report issued to all members by email (Eds - and copied below, apologies for font size). The club finances are in good condition and should remain so on current membership levels. Of note is the reduction of our insurance premium as a result of using the Group Insurance through BMW Clubs Australia, the slightly larger affiliation fees (BMW Clubs Australia) as both 2019 and 2020 were paid in theis FY, reducing interest income due to lower interest rates and finally reducing depreciation costs going forward to nil on the advice of the Reviewer.

ell we have had nice blue skies for more than two days now. After what we have been through in the last few months, I can’t help recalling a poem we did at school in grade 4 named “‘We’ll all be rooned’, said Hanrahan.” If you have never heard of this iconic Australian poem, or even if you do also remember it from school, Google it and have a read. It put a smile on my face.

T
he Club held a Service Day at Rob Wynne’s place on the 29th of Feb. Most of the bikes had the GS-911 connected for a check and clear the odd random fault code as well as resetting the service reminder.
The R1200 series bikes proved most popular with a couple of K1300’s, K1100 and the mighty K1600 were there for a bit of attendance balance. All great machines! The Sausage Sizzle and drinks sold for lunch as well as the fillet steak provided by Rob boosted the proceeds from the BBQ ($58 was raised and will go to the RFDS). Thanks again to Rob for providing the great workshop and BBQ. Always a great place for a chat and talking bikes.

Summer humidity can drive you insane The air is so heavy you pray it will rain Be careful what you pray for again and again For showers are quite different to torrential rain A shower can be cool and refreshing, that’s true The country looks better for a storm or two Not rain pouring down till the earth is soaked through Day after day spoiling all that you do The grass and the weeds grow in front of your eyes Washing won’t dry but that’s no surprise! Stale, musty smells that you must sanitise The damp and the mould take hold otherwise As each day progresses you see more and more Mouldy black spots on the walls and the door The vinegar bottles line up on the floor Determined to kill each and every spore Sunshine and fresh breezes are all that you need So things can dry out and you can start to weed Out in the garden the mosquitoes will breed From the humidity for a while we are thankfully freed
The air is still and heavy, it’s sometimes hard to breathe The mercury is rising, tempers quickly seethe Humidity is building, bodies soaked in sweat It can’t go on forever, there’s no reprieve as yet Then slowly in the distance dark clouds start to gather Energy is running low lost in a salty lather Guarded hopes that this will break & temperatures will drop Deckchairs on verandahs where bodies loll and flop Rumblings getting closer, white lightning cuts the sky Then follows an almighty crack, we know the rain is nigh Finally the droplets fall, almost beyond belief Flashes, cracks and pelting rain bring welcome cool relief

Thanks to Richard de Groot for finding his article on the #2 Biscuit ride in 2010, which we have condensed and re-run. Amazing number of riders on this outing - 53 bikes! BMWMCQ Club Ride - Sunday 8 August 2010
BISCUIT RIDE HISTORY Now it was known to me that George, Maggie and Les had participated in some detailed collaboration in planning the rides. The plan was for the GS Ride Group to meet at the location at 7.30 am for an 8 am departure; and the Touring Group to meet at the location at 8 am for an 8.30 am departure. That was a good plan!

eorge and Maggie joined the BMWMCQ some 8 years ago (now 18!); and were the proud owners of an immaculate BMW K1200 LT (they can be forgiven .... for not owining a more superb ‘R’ series!) motorcycle. In August 2009 George and Maggie were the organisers of the BMWMCQ monthly Club ride. A reasonable number of members attended that particular ride and were surprised to be treated to a very delicious spread for morning tea; all arranged and provided by George and Maggie (I suspect Maggie did most of the baking!!). Now when one is supplied with a delicious morning tea on a ‘Club Ride’ news soon spreads and the stage is set to establish the future expectations of many!! George and Maggie nominated to organise and lead the Club’s Touring Ride for Sunday 8 August 2010; in conjunction with Les Fitzpatrick who nominated to organise and lead the Club’s GS Ride on the same day. Pre-ride publicity indicated George and Maggie were again providing morning tea. The stage was set for a great day; be it for the ride routes, the company of others; or for the ‘morning tea’. I am not certain which; however I have my suspicions! Ride Day; Sunday 8 August 2010 It was a brisk morning with an outside temperature at Calamvale of 7 degrees. The forecast for the south east corner of sunny Queensland was for a maximum 23 degrees temperature for the day. The forecast was also for a clear dry day. We packed our goodies for a BYO lunch (George and Maggie were supplying morning tea ..... not lunch); consumed a quick breakfast, dressed in our warm winter motorcycling outfits, readied the R 1150RT which had not been out on a club ride since December 2009, and left home at around 7 am.
Wendy and I have a habit of arriving at start locations early; so when we arrived at the BP Service Station for the ‘Touring Ride’ at about 7.20 am, we expected to observe a handful of Beemers in the service station surrounds. That was a reasonable expectation; given the time of our arrival at the location. So we were both a little surprised and delighted on our arrival to observe a sea of Beemers. It seemed that everybody was keen to join in the day’s Club event. Members, friends and guests were standing around, drinking coffee, discussing motorcycles - discussing motorcycles - discussing motorcycles - and especially discussing Beemer motorcycles. Have you got the picture yet? The plan was for the GS Riders to depart first, and about half an hour later the Touring Riders would depart; and everybody would arrive at Christmas Creek (which is a very long way south of Beaudersert) at around the same time; for that delicious morning tea. That was a good plan; and was well coordinated by Les and George. Eventually after a briefing by Les; the GS Riders mounted their reasonably trusty steeds and headed off on their much anticipated ride.
BISCUIT RIDE HISTORY No doubt some other GS owning member will write a story of their GS ride exploits! About half an hour later (as planned) George provided a briefing to the Touring Riders; and we also mounted our superbly trusty steeds and headed off on our great motorcycling adventure. I was once told that every motorcycle ride is an adventure; so this then became another of those great motorcycling adventures. How Many Were on the Ride? -

to join in on the ride. Both were planning to ride back to Newcastle on the Monday following the Club ride. The Touring Group headed out of the service station and west under the M1 and over the rolling hills and along the delightful twisting motorcycling suited roadways through the rural localities of Tamborine, Cedar Grove, Laravale (to name but a few of such localities) and eventually to the morning tea stop at the camping grounds (where very clean and much needed facilities are installed) at Christmas Creek.
Some 32 motorcycles headed out of the Service Station on the GS Ride; and another 21 motorcycles departed on the Touring Ride. That was a grand total of 53 motorcycles and some 65 (give or take a few - I didn’t count) riders and pillions. Isn’t that a fantastic turnout? After the morning tea stop one of the riders on the GS Ride swapped to the Touring Ride. The Touring Ride -
The GS Ride group was at the location when the Touring Group arrived; however as was soon established the much expected morning tea spread was plentiful and absolutely nobody was left disappointed.
Motorcycles used on the ride were (as one would reasonably expect) primarily Beemers; however there were a couple of Japanese sports bikes, one Japanese cruiser and (dare I mention it for fear of being awarded some unwanted club award .... which thankfully I now recall is no longer awarded!) one American brand of cruiser. Two friends (Darryl and Adrian) of George and Maggie rode their motorcycles (Beemers of course!) all the way up from Newcastle on the Friday prior to the ride day;
After morning tea the GS Riders departed first; followed soon afterwards by the Touring Riders. The Touring group again travelled along fantastic motorcycling roads through spectacular undulating terrain through the localities of Kerry, Beaudesert and Biddaddaba to Canungra; where the group stopped to enable some riders to refuel their thirsty superbly trusty steeds. After the refueling stop it was heads down and on to the picnic grounds of Binna Burra; where we all arrived at about 2 pm for a much enjoyed BYO lunch; with additional edible delights again being provided by George and Maggie. Or should that be Maggie and George?

The exhausted GS riders arrived about a half an hour later; however they were not to be disappointed as the considerate Touring Riders were very aware that the GS riders would be suffering (physically drained) after a hard days motorcycling; and ensured sufficient of the edible delights left over from morning tea were available for their consumption and enjoyment (gee .... those Touring Riders are considerate folk!).
During the day Wendy and I acted as the ‘Tail End Charlie’ support for both sections of the Touring Ride. The great thing was that George and I were able to communicate by UHF radio. The primary rides (both touring and GS) concluded at Binna Burra; however some did continue a ride lead by George and Maggie down through Beechmont and eventually to the Gold Coast. Others left in dribs and drabs at their own leisure and travelled by their chosen route home. Wendy and I departed the group and headed directly home via Canungra. From home to home we travelled some 400 kilometers for the day. A great day of motorcycling was there to be enjoyed by all who participated; on a glorious day during the Queensland winter. The Touring Ride was extremely enjoyable; as I suspect was the GS Ride. The corner marking worked very well; resulting in no unintended turns - other than by the five or six riders who simply did not make one intended turn and disappeared into the distance .... and no doubt ended up making a few unintended turns of their own creation! The first of such riders apparently failed to see the corner marker; and the others followed like lambs to the

However to be fair some would argue that the corner marker was positioned slightly unsighted (another topic for future debate over a cold ale ..... or two ..... or more!) A special thank you to George, Les and Maggie for organising and leading the respective ride groups
and to George and Maggie for preparing and providing the wonderful assortment of biscuits, cakes, coffee and tea which were consumed by many; if not all of the participants ... and I suspect one or two of the campers at Christmas

LUNCH RIDE TO CAMBOOYA The February lunch ride was to Cambooya, and the morning did not look promising, but a good sized group of 16 made it to the historic Bull & Barley Inn for a very decent meal. The place was crowded but the delicious meals came out quite quickly. Cambooya is south of Toowoomba and there are nice rides that take you mostly off the busy Warrego Way. Coming home via Ma Ma Creek, I stopped for a leg stretch at the local cemetery, as I recalled a very moving statue was located there. See photo below showing a memorial erected by grieving parents who lost three sons on the battlefields of France in 1916, 1917 and 1918. What a heartbreaking loss and the memorial ensures that they are not forgotten.

My First Bike .....and others on the way to a BMW – Part 1 By Mark Gilbert
I
t all started around the age of nine when my Sister then nineteen meet a motorcycle mechanic and eventually decided to marry him. He worked for Mayfairs Suzuki and was keen competitor in scrambles (what motocross used to be called) and road racing. After accompanying them on a few outings to the bike races my parents probably guessed I had got the bug when they saw me running around the house with an old motorcycle helmet on making motorcycle noises. It took several years of constant nagging until my father asked me to help him get a bag of Urea (fertiliser) out of the boot of his immaculate HK Premier. When he opened the boot there was my first bike, a brand new Victor Grass Grubber.
A Deltek Rockhopper similar to my Victor Grass Grubber This was a fine machine with what those Harley people would call a hard tail and spring forks. It had a Victa motor mower engine and a centrifugal clutch (centripetal for the pure scientists). The handlebars folded for it to fit in the boot. It was much like the Deltek Rockhopper pictured here but without the rear suspension. Many hours of fun was had on this beast until it was traded for my first geared bike a Suzuki TM75, Dad paid for it initially and I paid it off at
MY FIRST BIKE PART 1 $10 a week I was earning from selling papers in Central Subway. With this bike I joined the Brisbane Minibike Training Club which was established on the old Raubers Road Dump at Northgate near home. This club concentrated on developing rider’s skills with slow races and balance tests by riding the bikes on boards suspended six inches off the ground. There was also a narrow very slippery decomposed granite track we used to race around.
Suzuki TM75 I then joined the North Brisbane Mini Cycle Club which was more race oriented and also located at the old Nudgee Dump at Raubers Road. After a while I felt the Suzuki wasn’t doing the job well enough to compete and the nagging started again but I was put back in my place by my brother-in-law who after watching one of the ‘A’ grade ridders do a couple of laps dragging his knee around the corners on a new Yamaha at practice proved to me it was the rider not the bike. He pulled his helmet and boots out of the boot of his car and after giving the ‘A’ grade rider half a lap start put his large frame on my tiny Suzuki and passed the ‘A’ grader within two laps. The point was taken but like any kid the nagging still continued. I finally reached a pay it off deal with my father and a brand new Yamaha YZ 80 C was bought from “Bob Morgan” (might have been Bob Anthony’s) Yamaha in Ross Street Newstead. The first race meeting on the new bike started off great as off the start all the bikes

efforts passing people through the corners were lost on the straight. I raced for several years with the North Brisbane Mini Cycle Club track moving to Samsonvale, now covered by Northpine Dam and then Army land at Beams Road Carseldine near the railway. They have now returned to Raubers road Nudgee. The next bike was a DT175 with an ugly orange long range tank which was my first registered bike and ran me to college. It was so ugly I never took a picture of it, so I have included a picture of a similar bike minus the ugly tank.
A Slightly Youthful Yamaha YZ 80 C around me seemed to go backwards instead of forwards off the start. I had won a couple of ‘C’ grade races before the new chain had stretched and come off bending the clutch rod. A DT175 The only thing I can remember about this bike is it seizing five times on the way home from South Brisbane to Banyo one day when the oil pump failed. After a short break it was time to step up and the next bike was a 10 month old Suzuki RM250Z. I didn’t initially continue racing at this stage but rode it at the Pine Rivers Recreational Motorcycle Club at Brendale in Kremzow Rd near the brickworks.
The father of one of the ‘A’ grade riders owned Northside Yamaha and kindly drove us to his shop on a Sunday and opened up to get a clutch rod. His son’s name by the way was Michael Doohan who we all know went on to much bigger and better things in the motorcycling world. The YZ was subsequently modified with a Mototek CDI ignition and a Torque Engineering exhaust and I rose to ‘B’ grade fairly promptly. I was Suzuki RM250Z a big lad back then also and with such small bikes my

It had a challenging track with some large jumps which were a test especially when being chased by friends pushing me beyond my comfortable riding pace. The 250 needed to be ridden quite differently from the 80 as you couldn’t just hold it flat out. The landing from the biggest jump usually ended in the wrist letting go on landing resulting in a huge burst of throttle and then a struggle on the top edge of the following banked corner to stay on the track. Racing called again and I joined the Brisbane Motorcycle Club and continued much to my Mothers dismay when after clipping the second jump of a double at a Bundaberg Meeting fell and the following bike landed on me on the full smashing through the front of my Bell Moto3 helmet. This knocked me out for about 30 minutes, tore open my skin under my jaw by about 50 mm, smashed two teeth and left a hematoma from my hip to below my knee. I woke up in the Ambulance on the way to the Bundaberg Hospital.
A slightly battered RM I spent two hours on a trolley in emergency then the nurse got into my wound with a scrubbing brush after a local. My mate returned home with my car and bike and my jersey with a two inch blood stain around the neck and gave it to my mother. Mum was not impressed and sent my brother-in-law who got me into racing to retrieve me. I spent four days in hospital before returning home. Well that’s enough for now I will continue the story in part two with more Suzuki’s, a motor cross sidecar outfit and a BMW, oh and another Suzuki.

Love riding my motorbike - By Rosi Johnson
W
ell, it all started with me sitting on the tank of my dad’s Pooch 500 at the age of 4. Since then I always dreamed of having my own big bike, one day.
Even Steven got to ride it when we met in 1982. We rode into Italy and Slovenia in those days to buy cheap wine and food, fun days. Then I took a long break from riding anything for a long time, still dreaming of owning a big bike one day. When I turned 40 I decided to get my bike license with Q-Ride and they put me straight on a Honda 500 and passed the test without any problems.
At the age of 15 I got my own KTM Duo Moped 50cc. This bike was my transport to work and fun places for the next 6 years. I remember riding it through snow and rain and it always got me to where I was going. Sometimes I just had to unscrew the sparkplug because it got wet and wouldn’t start but it was easy to fix.

I knew I wanted a bike with more than 500 cc but it also needed to have a shaft drive. Bikes with chains weren’t a favorite of mine because I got thrown off a bike where the chain broke whilst riding, so yeah, no chains for me. Eventually I found one perfect for me, a Yamaha V-Star 650 Custom.
This bike gave me all the confidence on the road that I needed. At this time I joined the Ulysses Club which was great. They had mid-week and weekend rides, which were great fun. By the way Steven wasn’t a rider by this stage. After a few years I sold this one and bought a Suzuki M50 Boulevard, yeah I know another cruiser but suited my riding style plus I could reach the ground with both feet.

I think that’s when he got the riding bug. After riding with the Ulysses for a few years we had friends that were members of the BMW club and introduced us to BMW bikes. Steven went for a test ride first and was hooked, he even flew to Sydney to test ride a lowered BMW R1200GS and was hooked. The only downfall was he had to wait 3 months for its arrival from Germany. After him raving about how brilliant his ride was each and every time we went for a ride whilst my back was killing me, I decided I either stop riding or buy a new bike. After a few months of shopping around and test riding I found my BMW R1200R in 2016. The only thing I had to buy was the lower seat and some handle bar raisers to make it easier for me to ride. In 2018 we shipped our bikes to Europe and spent 5 months touring around England, Scotland, France, Germany, Italy, and Slovenia and of course Austria. We had the best time and I would highly recommend it to anyone, the twisties over there are just so intense and beautiful. To this day I love riding this bike; it’s a perfect fit for me.
Steven got his licence and rode this one a few times before buying his own, a Triumph Speed Master.

O
ur club through the good work of Treasurer John Eacott has acquired two copies of the very weighty tome, ‘A century of BMW’. When I say weighty I am not joking – it sent our kitchen scales to 3.105kg with a hardcover wrap of it’s 572 pages. One copy of the book now resides in the Club library currently administered by my better half, Jane, while the second copy will be used as a prize or raffle item sometime in the near future. What is the book all about and is it worth the investment of your valuable time to better understand the history of the company that produces the motorcycles that we own and love to ride? Let me say at the outset that this book has not been compiled by a motoring enthusiast of the likes of an Ian Falloon or Alan Cathcart. No, the compilers of this history are research types from the BMW Group archives, Manfred Grunert and Dr Florian Triebel. You are

unlikely to see their names appearing on any other motorcycling or motoring publications. The book is divided into ten chapters being – 1. Company: 2. Human Resources: 3. Research and Development: 4. Production: 5. Engines: 6. Motorcycles: 7. Automobiles: 8. Motor sport: 9. Sales: 10. Advertising. Unless you are an avid reader of Company Annual Reports then I doubt that the second and last chapters will hold much appeal.
The first chapter on ‘The Company’ contains the detailed history of BMW that was created during the First World War (March 6, 1916 is quoted as the date on which BMW was established), survived the Second World War and thrived in the post war period to today being one of the most recognised ‘brands’ on the planet. The BMW archives must be a veritable Aladdin’s Cave of Photographic treasures. The mostly B&W photos throughout the book are stunning. By way of example the immediate post WW2 period in Germany was catastrophic on a human and industrial level. BMW’s manufacturing bases had been destroyed along with a lot of the people and technical history. The company was restricted to manufacturing cooking pots and agricultural implements in the immediate post war period until 1946 when it was given a permit to build motorcycles limited to 250cc. There are pictures of the war time destruction of the manufacturing plants followed by an impressive picture of the BMW R24 on display at the 1948 Geneva Motor Show and another of the 50,000th post war production BMW (an R51/3) in 1951. The mind boggles at the hurdles and barriers that must have been crossed or conquered to produce this turnaround in such a short period of time. The story is all there.
A CENTURY OF BMW I concentrated on the chapters on Motorcycles and Motor Sport and found much of interest. Here are a couple of pages to whet your appetite. The first shows a batch of R50 models being handed over to the NSW Police in Sydney by the German Consul General (note the Police helmets and chinstraps of the day). There is a pic of a tasty R69S on the same page. The second page from the Motor Sport chapter contains an autographed picture of Georg Meier on his way to victory in the 1939 Isle of Man Senior TT. The ‘Senior’ was basically the World 500cc Championship of the era and the race that the factories most wanted to win. Georg on his BMW was the first foreigner on a foreign bike to win the race. A technical feature contained in the book had this old head thoroughly bemused. Excuse my ignorance if this is ‘old hat’ to the more technically savvy amongst the readership. There are many photographs throughout the book that carry a very small identifying symbol. There is an associated AP that I loaded to my phone. When I hovered over the photo with my phone in camera mode a short video played on my phone that was linked to the picture. Unfortunately all of the videos that I watched are in German and I assume that would apply across the board. To me this is amazing stuff. What will they think of next? Might be one for our savvy editors to consider for our quality journal? At the end of the book there is a Product List that contains basic details and a schematic of every Aero Engine, Motorcycle and Car made by BMW. Interestingly the Aero engines are contained to a page, motorcycles stretch to 5 pages while the cars occupy a mammoth 25 pages. Food for thought. There is also a list of the quantity produced and the production

years. It is in this last section that I must level some criticism. The authors must have had access to the full data for each individual model produced but have for some unknown reason chosen to group a few models together. For example the iconic R90S is grouped with the R100S and R100CS for a production run of 33,265 between 1973-1984. An obscure model like the R850C has an individual listing while the R1100GS is grouped with the R850GS. This is bizarre and unforgivable in an otherwise quality and comprehensive historical record.
NSW Police and R69S This is not a book that is meant to be read from cover to cover but used as a reference guide. It is a very worthwhile addition to the club library.

he sheer volume of motorcycling related online resources can often be overwhelming – whether it’s researching your next getaway, sourcing the latest and greatest gear reviews or finding out how to do stuff (re-spoking wheels in Duncan’s case!) and let’s not forget the popular pastime of maxing out the credit card buying new farkles.

A popular website for world travellers of the 2-wheel variety is Horizons Unlimited https:// www.horizonsunlimited.com/. Started in 1997 by veteran motorcycle travellers Grant and Susan Johnson who journeyed the world for 11 years 2-up on a 1986 R80/GS.
So here is a little section of the Journal each month that will be dedicated to recommended sites to explore at your leisure (or peril). I have started with 2 below which may be of interest, but please let me know any recommendations you have by emailing the editor. Firstly, if you are a regular podcast listener or new to this form of entertainment, the Adventure Rider Radio podcast series is a great listen.
You can get lost in this site for many an hour reading the HUBB forum as well as settling down with a coffee and reading the Travel Stories section. They run events all over the world with very interesting speakers, and usually have one in Boonah each year. We have been to one and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Facebook Group page of Horizons Unlimited is also a good group to follow however there are constant posts so be prepared to edit your settings or you will not see any other FB feeds!
