FAMILY TREE
Artwork: Marin Horikawa www.moderatebreeze.com
Artist and Designer, Marin Horikawa has connected and created the Family Tree line graphics since its founding. Working with artists such as Tappy Yoshikawa, and Dean Blotto Grey, he has curated a look, feel, and attitude that’s both inspired by and embodies the spirit of freeriding. This year delivers an abstract interpretation of nature boiled down to its purest form, down to the atoms and particles that make us and everything else in the universe.

SKELETON KEY IAMDOOOM’s style lends itself to a simple graphic direction that plays on the timeless idea of death, destruction, and the mortality
of everything. Perfect for a board that puts untracked lines in their graves.

CUSTOM Inspired by the materials and color choices of premier restoration crews who rebuild classic cars – the Custom, our longest running flagship series, got itself a custom
graphic rebuild. We focused on keeping the graphic simple and clean, whilst giving it a warm and inviting natural vibe.

The Thinkers Inspired by Burton graphics from decades past, the Deep Thinker and Free Thinker use patterns and color combinations from some of our earliest board designs and re-configure them into something entirely
new. Working closely with Danny Davis, we matched a reverence for our history with a whole new attitude; just like the way Danny does every time he straps in.

F PROCESS Inspired by George Orwell’s 1984, and all the subsequent films and art that it gave birth to. The Process uses iconography and imagery to convey a story of surveillance,
and an image from the 1950’s of an audience viewing a 3-d movie to portray the complacent masses who accept it.

This snowboard image is part of an on going theme in my work. I love depicting iconic archetypes and placing them in an open ended narration. My inspiration is my fixation with sci-fi, horror, and exploitation films, which fits into my life long allegiance to counter culture. -glenn bar
PARAMOUNT Glenn Barr’s surreal creatures, specters and tragic characters live in a seedy universe, drenched in the grit and haze of a postapocalyptic urban dreamscape. For this
board, he conjured up an astronaut who’s story is unknown, but suggests something big, like an interstellar anime in which everything goes horribly, horribly wrong.

AMPLIFIER When you bust out of your comfort zone, things get a little freaky. Such is the inspiration for the Amplifier, a board designed to help riders rise up the ranks and get a little more freaked out each time
they strap in. Iconic images of fright and darkness mash together for a jazzed up vibe with a healthy blend of inspiration and intimidation.

NAME DROPPER Some of our favorite art utilizes things that could be dangerous and creatures that could be scary... or not. This art by Australian artist Layton Webber allows you to have all
the fun that comes when playing with knives and rusty nails, just without the need for a tetanus shot.

Artist: Benjamin Franklin en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benjamin_Franklin
DESCENDANT Join, or Die is a political cartoon drawn by Benjamin Franklin and first published in his Pennsylvania Gazette on May 9, 1754. The original publication by the Gazette is the
earliest known pictorial representation of colonial union produced by a British colonist in America. We are their descendants, so this board bears the mark.

THE KILROYS Working closely with the Kilroy Crew, we had extensive meetings to figure out just what the misled youth of today are looking for in a board graphic. In the end, we had the answer,
a pure distillation from the deepest-darkest depths of the teenage psyche. Big surprise: what they really wanted were chicks and skulls. So we gave it to them.

DAY TRADER Flora is a truly beautiful, and awe-inspiring part of our natural world, but somewhere deep in the heart of that photosynthetic aesthetic there’s a deep darkness that could
curdle milk and turn a saint into the devil himself. Keep that in mind as you turn heads with the Day Trader.

TALENT SCOUT For all its progressive motion, modern society still allows for all sorts of unspoken constraints on the lives of everyday women. This board is inspired by the opposition
to these constraints, and the women who take every opportunity to defy those social constructs.

HIDEAWAY Winter is our playground, but let’s face it, we’d all love to steal away to a private beach every now and then. Take that sprit with you
as you make your escape to the mountain, and let the beach vibes reside wherever you take them.
