Welcome to 2016 and what an exciting year we have in front of us. However let’s not forget what a great 2015 we here at Boaties Group had. For a recap, we had Gold Coast Marine Expo earlier into last year, we had Mackay Boat Show, the sales teams travelled from South Australia through to Cairns visiting retailers, suppliers and generally getting a feel for different areas – be it inland dams , seaside towns and fishing communities.We gave away a trailer full of goodies, solar pod, hammaka chairs and other smaller goodies. Our community of Boaties continues to grow and we are very excited by what is happening this year and we thank all you boaties and suppliers who continue to support us and allows us to grow. We encourage our boaties to turn to our sites and services for works, upgrades, downsizing, events, products and so much more. “An appointment to the Roulettes is a rare distinction – in fact, these are the pilots who actually instruct the next generation of RAAF flying instructors.” Roulettes Squadron Leader Daniel Kehoe has over 5000 flying hours to his credit and has six deployments to the Middle East as well as various humanitarian operations to his credit.

sounders, night-vision cameras, underwater lighting, chart-plotters, anchoring systems and water-makers, to name but a few. “In addition to an incredibly diverse, hands-on marine showcase, fun family attractions as well as practical interactive

Expo’s single-day ticket price is just $12, children under 12 are free, while tickets for all four days are just $30. #Floatfest15 was a massive success, and we are excited to announce that planning is already underway for Floatfest 2016 AKA #Floatfest16. Floatfest 2016, presented by the Pretoria Hotel is back on the 30th of April and the 1st of May! Floatfest is proudly instigated by the members of the Murraylands Regional Tourist Association, to encourage you to visit our wonderful Region, and experience life by the River. Floatfest is a two day family event based around beating a World record Attempt at the largest number of floating kayaks\canoes by ‘Paddling into the Record Books’.

Her Perspective - Uncut Firstly before I start this story I want you to know how much I thoroughly love being at anchor with my family for a few nights. There are few places, that can centre me, ground me and remind me that life is no dress rehearsal ! that balance , being content, grateful and loving are all things we should be all of the time and not now and then . There is nothing that beats watching our kids not touch their technology for the entire day while they get their swimmers on, lather up with sunscreen get their hats on and their kayaks being their only mode of transport between the boat and the shore and to escape their parents. There is nothing that beats that meditation session on the bow of the boat, a quiet fish off the back of the boat before anyone wakes! that cuppa with my husband after the kids set sail, nothing completes me more than these moments. However with all good amazing things Comes the digging deep to get there. Husband and kids at me on Wednesday please can we go boating on Friday after school, please we will do everything you don’t need to do a thing - what a great thought in theory - in my head it goes, they will go with dad to do groceries , they will all re stock all the things we have run out of on the boat, they will grab all things needed for breakfast lunch and dinners , the waters the towels, the sheets the hats the sunscreen the rid , do they think ahead? that Sunday afternoon there is all the washing, boat needs to be cleaned, homework needs to be done, rubbish runs from the boat, the unpacking of the boat, what about the school uniforms for Monday shopping for the week? We still have not mentioned the meeting I have late Thursday and the meeting my husband has first thing Monday morning, therefor suits need to be dropped to dry cleaners and picked up all before Monday.

Who in their right mind would say yes to go boating for the weekend? yep you got it, all those wives mothers and partners who have a taste for boating , who would say no to watching their families pull together to spend the weekend together? who would say no to kids begging to spend time with their parents on the weekend? who would say no to time on their own with their husband while kids down their technology to spend all day making up games playing together and meeting new friends on the beach? Not me. With our kids 15 and 11, and they are begging for me to say yes to having quality time with us, the one thing I love most my family, there is no way my answer was ever going to be a no, but will I ever let them know this tactic probably not, because to see my family pull together for our dream weekend is all part of the experience the joy and the happiness that keeps our family together and our kids safe.
