Cover Letter for graduate TV Researcher

I can offer a great deal of knowledge and experience to the role of a TV researcher as I have studied TV production at BTEC Level 2, BTEC Level 3 for total of 4 years.

This involved me researching and producing content in multiple genres and styles such as animation, factual production and TV adverts. This course required extensive research into the legal requirements of broadcasting, the development of Film and TV and competition in the market place for the product we’re creating.

Research would take the form of primary research whereby I conducted interviews or focus groups with people and secondary research whereby I used a multitude of resources such as the Internet, documentaries and books. I received a triple distinction star at BTEC Level 3 Media and my work for this course can be found on my online portfolio here: http://coursephilistinestudios.weebly.com Furthermore I have previously completed a work experience placement at ITV, which gave me a sample of all of the stages of the television production process on a much bigger scale in the actual British television industry. I am currently studying a Television Production degree at the University of Central Lancashire in which I frequently work and create content for programs in a television studio and study the television industry and it’s developments in depth. Shine’ greatly appeals to me and I would very much like work in the factual production genre which Shine TV and Princess Productions do better than any other production company. I’m very excited by the your original television formats in established areas of programming the improve stand up show ‘Set List’ or cookery show ‘MasterChef’.

I think I’m very suited to this role because I’m an incredibly creative individual always full of inventive original ideas. Furthermore through my love and previous studies of history and media I have developed a great many research skills, I have already attended a degree of knowledge in the production of television programs and strive for the opportunity to gain much more knowledge and improve my skillset from the two of the best production companies in the UK.
