Samara Rose Fall 2018 thru Spring 2020
Samara Rose I never want you to forget the amazing four years you had at West Boca High School or the people that made it all possible such as Mr. Blank, Mama Crout, Mrs Angela, or Ms. Briggs. West Boca High School provided you with opportunities that allowed you to soar to unimaginable heights. Little Women being selected by the Florida State Thespian Festival, by peers and judges, to Main Stage at the “Straz Theater” in Tampa Florida, for your third year in a row was unheard of! Winning District Rep over 900 presenters at “Districts” was more than you could have ever dreamed possible! However the topper was when your role as Marmee in Little Women was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress for the Dream Awards, I will never forget the moment on stage when all three finalists waited to hear which one of you would be chosen to attend an all-expense paid summer at NYC Tish program and a spot in the World famous Jimmy Awards, a division of the Tony’s! Hairspray was your show! Singing in your character voice and dancing in that extremely large fat suit was no easy task. We will always remembered your ‘Link Larkin’ and what a stinker he was. It was amazing that you were able to make yourself look so lovesick. Just more proof that you are always a professional and a very talented actress. Winning Hairspray as the Best Musical in Palm Beach County at the Dream Awards was an amazing experience for all your peers. I was humbled to watch how you enjoyed having the entire cast and crew revel in winning and you taking no kudos for yourself even though you were the main role and never left the stage. Your energy in that show was infectious! Completing your junior year with a solo concert for the Rotary Club, your appearance in the Hugh Jackman Concert, followed by a summer in Asheville NC at Triple Arts made 2019 the best year possible! Your Senior Fall show I Never Saw Another Butterfly was a heartbreaking play about the Holocaust. Your role as the teacher, Irena, was splendid and again I could not be more proud of your meaningful and tear jerking performance! Getting an audience to sob was becoming so natural for you after Little Women’s! Your final spring show Sister Act closed on the eve of the “onset of Covid”. Your last moment of High School was literally you taking your final bow as the character Mother Superior. We didn’t know it that night but you would never step foot back into your school, your drama room or the place that you loved family and called
home for four years! Winning the 2020 PathFinders Award for Music /Vocals was a welcome surprise to everyone, the entire WBHS staff was rooting for you , and even Principle Mr. Sommers who had moved to the school district called to say how proud he was of you! Being acknowledged as “One of the best and the brightest” of 300,000 Palm Beach County students confirmed to you that you are living your purpose and you never need to second guess any of your choices! 2020 was a year filled with many hardships as well as these gifts. I started a new job at the “Women’s Health and Wellness Institute and came down with an unknown illness (Undiagnosed COVID) that brought me to the brink death and job loss. We said our goodbyes to both dogs Daisy and Charlie. It was a hard year for your momma but you kept me going as you always do. I was so proud to watch you strive to be happy and positive in every situation while you isolated and I worked 24/7. Thank goodness for our women tribe and people in the community like Jody Hammer, who adopted you as “adopt a senior” and provided the makings of a top notch COVID friendly graduation celebration with a photo shoot, graduation announcements lawn signs and all…. Texas Tech was our number one choice for Musical Theater programs from the get go. We were over the moon as the last acceptance came in and you were one of 4 girls accepted to BFA Musical Theater Program at Texas Tech. May your college experience continue to be more about the journey then the destination. Our goal has always been to do what makes us happy and so far our life plan is working for the Shavrick girls! “And always remember “And will you succeed? Yes you will 98 and ¾ % guaranteed! Kid you’ll move mountains so get on your way and never forget I LOVE YOU MORE AND I ALWAYS WILL! Your Very proud Momma Chay
