he’s just 5 feet 3 inches tall. Delicate and small-boned, but with the gracious expression of a queen. Despite her small stature, Natalie Portman is one of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Early this year, we had yet another chance to see her in the movies, as former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy in the eponymous film “Jackie.” She was nominated for an Oscar as best actress in a leading role for it.
HER CINEMATIC CAREER STARTED AT A YOUNG AGE Now 35, Portman became internationally known at the age of 13 with the drama “Léon: The Professional.” In it, she plays a girl named
Mathilda who falls in love with a professional killer. In addition to her artistic gifts, Natalie Portman has always displayed discipline and a marked sense of ambition; in school, she was considered an outstanding pupil. Despite her youth, she played roles in large productions, including Tim Burton’s “Mars Attacks!” and Woody Allen’s musical film “Everyone Says I Love You.” At the age of just 18, she shined as Queen Amidala in “Star Wars.” Other films followed, like “V for Vendetta,” “My Blueberry Nights” and “Closer,” for which she was awarded a Golden Globe as best actress in a supporting role in 2005. She had completed her psychology degree at Harvard two years earlier. Portman swept her second Golden Globe and her first Oscar in 2011 as a ballerina in the

It started when her father took her along to a medical convention, where she saw laser tests being performed on a chicken. emerged as a trend, that she was switching to veganism. Eggs and dairy products were only on her menu during her pregnancies. She campaigns passionately for the active protection of animals and species; most recently, she traveled through the rainforests of Rwanda with a study program in order to observe endangered mountain gorillas for a documentary. But Portman’s rigorous rejection of all animal products doesn’t just apply to food. She is a committed vegan

Lindner, the founder of Börlind, who died in 2016, kept her pioneering spirit and courage until she reached a ripe old age, driving the implementation of new ideas in natural cosmetics with typical élan. he water is right there, inviting you to jump in, and the mountains fill the horizon. What more could you want from a city? A visit to Zurich is definitely worth the trip, especially in the summer. And don’t forget to pack your bathing suit! This metropolis is known for its many “Badis,” or swimming spots. The Limmat River, which winds through Zurich, and of course Lake Zurich offer many opportunities to cool down (2). And the best part is that in many “Badis,” the fun continues even after the sun sets, when they transform into bars. For example, the historic men’s swimming area called Rimini or the women’s beach on the Limmat, which
is called “Barfussbar” (“Barefoot Bar”) at night. Kreis 4 is a district filled with designer stores and numerous small restaurants, bars and clubs for those who like to go out. And if you’re weary from exploring this former red light district, a relaxing outing the next day on one of the Limmat ships might be just the ticket. These ships are part of the public transit network, and they go right through the city, passing under six bridges and an overpass out onto Lake Zurich (5). The ships also pass through the oldest part of town, the “Schipfe,” which runs along the Limmat’s shores between the Rathausbrücke and Oetenbachgasse.

In medieval times, boats bringing silk, gold and foodstuffs to Zurich docked here. The name “Schipfe” comes from the Swiss German word “schupfen,” which refers to the action of “shoving” the boats into the water. Above the Schipfe lies the Lindenhof. For centuries, this plaza was where the people of Zurich assembled. A late Roman fort once stood on this spot. Today, it’s a peaceful oasis with a fountain and shade trees, a place for people to play chess and for tourists to enjoy the view of the city and the lake. For more views, you can take the line 10 S-Bahn train up to the Uetliberg, with an elevation of

871 meters (almost 3,000 feet). When the weather is good, you can even see the Alps from here.

believe I’m speaking for many women when I say that cosmetics are an exciting topic. Skin care is a part of our everyday lives and helps us glow from within and from without. Because I’ve had atopic dermatitis since I was born, my skin has always needed a lot of attention. RELAX On the thermal sand bed, the stress of the day quickly leaves me.
EVERY ROOM FULL OF NATURE Responsible treatment of nature is a firm component of the company’s philosophy, and this is palpable everywhere in the spa, which was opened in 2016. Living Icelandic moss on the wall, roots in the lobby and posts made of 300-year-old oak are just a few examples. After my initial positive impression, a perfect consultation with Gabi Fenchel, the spa’s director, is the icing on the cake. Right away, I feel completely at ease. In addition to eight facial treatments tailored to each individual’s particular skin type, there are three body treatments and various types of massage. My highlight: 30 minutes on the thermal sand bed. Reclining on 180 kilograms of quartz sand with soft music in the background, the stress of everyday life vanishes in just a few minutes.
MOISTURIZATION TO GO Dryness from my atopic dermatitis is my biggest skin problem. Especially during the winter months, sufficient moisturization is absolutely necessary. I accidentally stumbled upon ANNEMARIE BÖRLIND’s BEAUTY SHOTS about two years ago, and I immediately fell in love with the HYDRO BOOSTER. I always welcome products that hydrate, and after using this one for the first time, it was already clear that we were going to be good friends. Botanical hyaluronic acid from Chinese jelly fungus moisturizes and smooths, while the HYDRO BOOSTER’S texture is especially pleasant on my skin and has a soothing effect.
