EuroRoss Project: A Backstage Visit.

Alma Aguilar: Fashion Designer

About the workshop: Workshop of Photography " Asti between Fashion and Art History" directed by Alberto Buzzanca and Adolfo Valente The event, organized by EuRossProject, was held June 25, 2011 in the city streets, led by two well-known Italian photographers, Alberto Buzzanca (www.albertobuzzanca.net) and Adolfo Valente (www.adolfovalente.com) with models Eva Squillari, Valentina Agnoletto and Gaby, dressed by stylist David Monaco (www.davidemonaco.com), makeup by Roberta Demolli (Neira Makeup). Starting from the oldest hotels in Asti, Hotel Royal (www.hotelristorantereale.it), photographers have discovered the art and history of the city with the charm of fashion and reportage, the city tour has made stops in municipal buildings , kindly provided by Public Administration for the occasion, and, passing the City Hall, the Palace Ottolenghi, the Palace del Vascello, Palace Alfieri, the journey ended with the flag-waving exhibition (Www.gruppoasta.it) in Cathedral Square. ----------------about the 2 masters: Alberto Buzzanca He inherited from his father, a visionary painter, cartoonist and pungent, the equipment for shooting, but perhaps much more. So the artistic efforts of Alberto Buzzanca was born at 23 years old, in 1992. Two old reflex, the objectives, the desire to try for fun. A walk along the river, the first shots. Then waterfalls of manuals, books, magazines, the curiosity to learn. He quit the previous job for the passion, an act of courage, a mix of awareness and humility. He opened a studio and now he is a commercial photographer, working with public agencies and national journals. (the official site www.albertobuzzanca.net) -----------Adolfo Valente Born in Milan, but Venetian adopted and lives in Treviso, where he is a lawyer. Always a great lover of photography (when still a boy, he developed the negatives and printed their own photographs) has made several exhibitions in different cities of Italy. After a long break, although he continued to follow and attend the world of photography, with digital picture and is mainly dedicated to the study of the human figure. Favors a general picture of intimate, almost "whispering" as he likes to say he made more than feelings of poses and moods that excessive or pin-ups, paying particular attention to lighting, the poses and expressions of the models in order to construct images that return sensuality but also elegance. ----------------about the city of Asti: ASTI Asti was founded by the Romans (as Hasta Pompeia) and some sections of the ancient walls are still present in the northern part of the city. During the Middle Ages was an important center of trade and banking in this period and is adorned with towers and fortified houses up to be called the "city of hundred towers", many of which still exist today within the city wall. Asti is, after Turin and Vercelli, together with one of the main cities of Piedmont as the guardian of a rich artistic and architectural heritage, in particular, has the largest low-medieval architectural heritage of the region, in memory of what was the most powerful town in Piedmont. In 1749 gave birth to Vittorio Alfieri, who even now is the symbol of the city and gives the name to the main square. Today it is known worldwide for its wines, in particular Asti Spumante and every year, in September, it hosts one of the most important wine competitions in Italy, called the Douja d'Or.

Bogamia Mag : How do you define the designer Alma Aguilar? Alma Aguilar: In spite of being one of the questions most asked in my life, I continue to find it hard to answer it. In short and what others say of me, I may be: Romantic, feminine, chic, Bohemian, and of simple appearance...

B

Bogamia Mag : From what experience, you become a fashion designer?

Alma Aguilar: I came to fashion through drawing. As a freelance artist, I alternated my studies and commissioned illustrations of all kinds. One day I was asked to draw a fashion figurine, and from that moment when I made the drawing, something changed in me. I knew exactly what I wanted do. Bogamia Mag : What philosophical inspiration do you get from your daily work?

Alma Aguilar: Since I am a positive woman, who tries to enjoy every day. That down plays problems, I have patience, I like the effectiveness and the passion in people, I like to love and I want to be loved. I have good organization skills and try to value persons. If there is a day that I do not enjoy sufficiently my work, I will undoubtedly leave it. Bogamia Mag : Any philosophy that is evident in your designs?

Alma Aguilar: Well for those that know me say that my designs is me. It is possible, I suppose that in some way the creator is reflected in their creations. I am not aware, the truth. Bogamia Mag : What is your creative process in a day's work?

Alma Aguilar: To create I need to separate from my normal day to day,, from my daily and more routine work. I try to dedicate little time for myself. Stay home some of the days and do things I enjoy which feed the soul somehow. In that situation is when I begin to create, afterwards I tweak it, transform it, organize it... but it always begins the same. Bogamia Mag : What is your favorite color? Alma Aguilar: Pink

AUNIA KAHN Figurative Artist

b

Aunia Kahn Born on December 5th, 1977 in Michigan, is a self taught figurative artist who began creating art as a therapeutic response to a difficult upbringing. Kahn's works combines many disciplines, wrapping them into a hybrid art form melding photography, painting and collage. She invariably designs, builds, and executes characters, non-existent places, dreams, illusions, fears and fables into creation, which meld elements of classical and contemporary art. Each work makes use of her own likeness in movie-like stills, dealing in varied taboo and often controversial subject matter to challenge the viewer, their understanding and preconceived notions; yet she connects through honest feeling and emotions. Aunia's work has constantly evolved, earlier works dealt more with her past, while her more recent creations delve into present emotional conflicts and inspirations. She is also the owner of Reignlock Art & Publishing, the creator of the Silver Era Tarot deck, the forthcoming Inspirations for Survivors deck, and the Lowbrow Tarot Project, is the author of Obvious Remote Chaos, Minding the Sea: Inviting the Muses Over for Tea [Release Date: June 2012], and a graphic/web designer. She currently resides in Illinois with her four German Shepherds and black cat in her secret closet.
