In a series of my new artworks, I do find myself …“in a search of imperfection”. It makes me emotionally close to Japanese wabi-sabi
aesthetics, with its simplicity, roughness and modesty. Nothing needs to be fixed! No more technological polish, silicon, or visual clarity!
Only imperfect paint strokes, gentle flaws, asymmetry, and uneven lines. Practicing imperfection in art helped me realized that things are the most beautiful when they are unfinished or begin to fade. Like never before, now I sense serenity in aging when scars become signs of experience, rust and patina become a new elegance…

Bogdan Kravchenko Born and raised in Eastern Europe, I earned Fine Arts Master degree in book graphics at Kyiv State Academy of Arts. At the beginning of my career, as a book graphic I illustrated more than sixteen books, and then worked as an art director and photographer in advertising industry for the last fifteen years, in Europe and USA. The artworks are displayed in public and private collections all over the world.
