Center for Post Nomadic Existance
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
The pool is large. Thousands of Mongolian migrants have flocked to Ulaanbaatar in the 20 years since the country shirked Soviet-style socialism for free-market reforms. Few can afford homes of their own. But it’s just one of the country’s problems. Like many post-soviet territories, Mongolia has been struggling with paying for education and medical expenses. The proposed plan would intervene Ulan-Bator in its poorest regions by creating a system of networked squares that would be programmatically different throughout their spread. This would allow for better distribution and or collection of goods which are required by the residents of the poorer areas. Their program would also vary throughout the different time periods, thus allowing for multipurpose design and greater accessibility. [C.P.N.E] is the cultural matrix that individuals create for themselves in a world where access to “distant” cultural resources has expanded enormously. At the same time, however, it embodies traditional or “close” cultural resources too. It is a fusion of the near with the far, the traditional with the new, the relatively unmediated with the multi-mediated in order to create discursive worlds that transform life experience and radically reconfigure the meaning of cultural space.

The New Lungarno
Florence, Italy
An impeccable way to begin taking the measure of Florence is to consider the role of Arno in the shaping and the historical life of the city – a role that has been crucial in the past but seem to lose its importance today. The manifestation of Florence was embodied by the nature of the river, though the city now sees it as an inconvenience and only rarely it is used as it once was. By creating a threshold space at the Arno’s edge, the new dramatic experience is created which would reunite its residents with the river and give it prominence that it once had. In 1175 it reawaked trade, now it will revitalize its city life. The proposed intervention suggests a series of botanical gardens along the river Arno. They would not only enrich spaces around them but the city as a whole, adding opportunities for new discoveries and interactions.
Glass Pavilion
Brooklyn, NY,US
As one enters the Urban Glass he is exposed to distorted reality which blends into existing fabric. The programme mode automates the basic functions of the structure. Directly related to the specific event schedule of its environment It drives the generic transformations, initiating and locating the deformations that control the access and the circulation within the public spaces. The built forms take their initial inspiration from the merging between natural and artificial landscapes i.e. the natural glacial topographies/fjords and the rigid city grid. The buildings merge with the ground, almost as if carved from the same solid mass. The forms of the buildings are in harmony with their surroundings, both natural and man-made. They have been shaped in response to view corridors, solar access, wind, visibility and access. The aesthetic qualities of the buildings seek to both connect and contrast with the existing urban fabric with respect and understanding.
