PROIECTUL DE

PROJECT Cement and concrete research institute Forest Biometrics and Geomatics laboratories exhibition space and quarry museum Bicaz city , neamt County, Romania The site in an abandoned cement factory plot near a significant industrial node.through the conversion of this space into a reserarch and technology park for the industries in the area,the economy will be strengthened, new public space introduced and 2 tourism encouraged

DESCRIEREA TEMEI

Situl se afla intr-o importanta zona industriala din jud neamt, pe locul unei fabrici de ciment abandonate. Regenerarea acestui tesut post industrial (prin implementarea unui program de cercetare necesar industriei din zona ) ar contribui la stabilitatea economica a zonei , la creearea de noi spati publice pentru orasul Bicaz si la incurajarea turismului A 3-4

WORKSHOP TEAM DESCRIPTION

Stage 1 Bridge Mikov Yuliyan,Gheorghiu Bogdan, Valcu horatiu A 7 day grasshopper worskshop in which we had to design a special structure of our chosing. It had 2 stages, one in which we had a tutorial for the software, and one to desing a model

Etapa 1 Pod Mikov Yuliyan,Gheorghiu Bogdan, Valcu horatiu Un workshop de grasshopper ce a durat 7 zile, si in care scopul final era proiectarea unei structuri speciale. S-a desfasurat in 2 etape, prima fiind una de acomodare cu Sofware-ul,iar a doua de utilizare a lui in proiectarea unei srtucturi.

Ran Berman, Han feng, Gheorghiu Bogdan, Valcu horatiu Alexandra Varlan, Bogdan Chipara, Andrei raducanu,irina Bogdan, Dragos Solot, Sandu milea lucian The second stage of the workshop dealth with desinging and building a structure around an existing concrete shell, which is situated in the university’s inner courtyard 2

A doua etapa a workshop-ului a cuprins elaborarea si constructia unei structuri in jurul zidului circular de pe terasafacultatii

Consisted in measuring and evaluating the existing structure from the terrace, then modeling it in 3d . this gave us a starting point in the evaluation of the growth pattern for the original structure.

A constat in relevarea zidului existent pe terasa, apoi modelarea lui in mediul 3d. Acest lucru permitand obtinerea unei curburi exacte si generarea unei cresteri a acesteia

After the curvature was established , a surface was added along the growth pattern, itself expanding at the same rate

Dupa stabilirea directiei de crestere a pavilionului a fost generata o suprafata ce o urmareste si o potenteaza prin implementarea algoritmului de crestere si pe inaltime.

This focused around slicing the shell previously created with 14 vertical planes, starting from the center point outwards. the curves created served as axes for the beams.

Aceasta a debutat prin intersectarea suprafetei obtinute anterior cu paisprezece planuri verticale, ce au ca punct de plecare axa din centrul structurii existente.Curbele rezultate au fost folosite ca si axe pentru grinzile pavilionului.

Having the beams in place, a series of panels were added between them, at an equal pace. The orientation and size of each pannel varried along an attractor curve. This gave the skin a certain variabile transparancy and a possibilty to control the angle of view from the inside out.

Intre grinzile astfel otinute s-au plasat o serie de “solzi� la un pas constant. Orientarea si marimea lor fiind data de o curba atractor ce influenteaza ughiul in care sunt dispusi. Aceasta schimbare progresiva de unghi directioneaza campul vizual din interior si ofera o transparenta variabila.

The digital model was completed after the insertion of the floor design. this followed the projection of the beams onto the horizotal plane of the terrace and varied in hight according to the path and transparency of the model. Modelul virtual a fost completat prin implementarea unei pardoseli. aceasta urmareste proiectia grinzilor pe terasa si variaza pe inaltime in functie de parcursul si transparentapavilionului

FABRICATION

For the main load bearing beams we used cnc cut 1.8 cm MDF sheets , each beam comprised out of three overlaped layers secured by screws. The “fins” were laser cut out of 6 mm MDF panels and the floor structure was made out of wood.
