We are excited to be offering this unique lot in the 40th Red Roundup sale. This pick is one where for the first time we are opening up our whole replacement group for you the perspective buyer. These females are right at the core of our Lot genetic advancement and we feel they are the real world kind that will work for you. Many of them are of a different breeding line to many programs as we have raised and used our own herd bulls for many years. We are very stringent on our udder and feet selection in our breeding stock. We strive to produce cattle that are sound in their nature and productive in their function. The group was mated to our freshest herdsire Scarface who was last fall Stockade Roundup Champion Bull and Junior Division Champion at Farmfair. He is unique in his type with his clean smooth shoulder, moderate birthweight and tremendous muscle shape over his top and into his quarter. That coupled with a 80lbs birthweight and a 926 lbs 205 day weight with a weaning ratio of 113 and a well rounded set of EPD’s makes him all the more powerful genetically. He is also outcross bred being out of our 2011 U.S. National Champion Fat Tony and out of one of our top black red carrier cows GJP 269U. These females are the new generation at our place and come from a set of cows that in recent years have produced herd bulls for Northline, Moons, Triple L, C.D Land and Cattle, and L&V to name a few. We stand behind our genetics and we are also offering to assist in the management and marketing of these females or the genetics off of these females either through our Private Treaty Bull Pen, our Fall Production sale or to help in getting them sold through a consignment sale of the buyers choice if they so choose. Here is just a March heifer that is sure to make alot of friends. She offers a different pedigree for most programs, a well balanced set of EPD’s and has all the makings to be a profitable female. After seeing Red Ter-Ron Real Deal 01W up close in person for the first time last year, and hearing about all of the success both he and his progeny were having in the ring, we were very excited to see how he would cross with some of our top females here at Anchor 1 Angus.

Let me tell you we were very impressed as he greatly exceeded even our highest expectations. Stretch 166Z is one of only two Real Deal daughters born on our ranch in 2012 and we are very pleased that she was selected for Red Roundup. 166Z is extremely deep bodied much like her mother but also maintains femininity through her front and has beautiful hair. She truly is a unique female in our herd.

Her mother Stretch 4320P is a no miss cow that raised Hitch 38T, and also the bred heifer Stretch 16X that we sold at Red Roundup last year to Horizon Red Angus. Stretch 4320P has given us many outstanding sons over the past six years but only two females so far and they have both ended up in this sale. Here is a heifer whose just a March baby that shouldn’t be underestimated. Biebird is a deep bodied, big topped heifer just like her dam. We have had an abundance of success selling her maternal brothers through our “On Target” Bull Sale. Biebird has a great disposition and a fantastic hair coat, all of which can be attributed to her sire, Red Lone Stone Pursuit 81W, known as “Sox”. Sox was Reserve Grand Champion at Agribition in 2010 and went on to Denver where he was well appraised and appreciated for his overall presence and volume, catching the attention of Silver Spurs and Jeffries Cattle Co. They combined their efforts to purchase the U.S. semen rights and Bone Creek of SK has purchased his walking services.

Sox’s calves have followed his footsteps with their numbers and actual performance jumping off the charts. Sox 81W’s epd’s rank him in the top 1% of the entire breed for WW, YW and carcass, as well as the top 10% for REA. Pantera 5Z is a result of our embryo partnership with La Cabana La Pastoriza, the Orazi family, from Buenos Aires state, Argentina. The Orazi’s have one of the top Angus operations in Argentina, as many visitors from around the world observed on the World Angus Secretariat tour in 2011. We got to see the Brigadier bull in the fall of 2009, at nine years of age, and were impressed with how sound footed, easy fleshing and stout he was. His progeny and grand progeny have adapted very well to our climate and will be a big part of our breeding program in the future. Pantera 5Z combines Brigadier and the two time Palermo champion Quebracho into a very nice fronted show heifer prospect with extra top and rump shape. The Paparozzi say a picture is worth a thousand words, and the more I analyze the GRP picture of 217Z the more I agree. Funny how a “shot in the dark” breeding on a heifer could turn out so right. This might have been the year I wished my best heifer calf went “M.I.A” in the bush when Scott was out selecting (haha). His dam Red Spittalburn Bayberry 704 T is a broody, front end pasture cow that has produced herd building genetics and show ring success in each calf she has raised.

She is dam to the 2011 Denver Reserve Grand Champion Female as well as the 2011 Canadian Reserve Grand Champion Bull, both are her natural calves she raised.Yup, two huge show wins with two different calves in the same year! Selling 5 doses of Red Towaw Indeed 104H Red Towaw Indeed 104H has truly earned the title breed legend and is one of the most popular bulls to come along in a long while. He has done it without the hype of a personal show career or outlier EPDs. He gained his popularity slowly by producing correct, stout, easy fleshing sons and incredibly productive and sound uddered females. His career started with being half of the Reserve Champion Pair of Bulls in the ‘98 Red Roundup Bull Furturity and selling privately to Six Mile Ranch that fall. Before that his dam was the 1995 National Champion Female at Famfair as a two year old. Many top operations used Indeed and were impressed with his progeny. Sons like Mastermind, Integrity, Timberlake, Very Interesting and Winchester left their impact on the breed, but it is the daughters that have really jumped to the forefront. Six Mile Ranch have been incredibly successful showing females including Serebl 93N, Lassie 377P, and the World Angus Forum 2009 Champion Female Red Six Mile Bayberry 256T . Indeed has left his mark not only in Canada, but also the United States and Australia, and was just introduced to Argentina where a pregnant recip carrying an Indeed calf sold for $6,000 US.
