Welcome to the 2024 Futures One Sale

On behalf of the families and crew at Destiny, Jetstream, Cedar Creek, Keystone, TWF and LWCC we welcome you to the Futures One Sale Edition 15. We are again joining with the Ontario Simmental Solution group this year and it’s been great collaborating with a group so passionate about the breed. Our 2024 offering is from the heart of our herds and your time to review the catalogue is appreciated in advance. We are passionate about the Simmental breed and excited to share the cattle you will find in the following pages.

The Jetstream offering is composed of three lots from their Amaze cow family, including two full sibs and their dam – truly the heart of the herd opportunity. A young proven baldy cow along with heifer calf – likely the first Schooley Standout to be sold in Canada – pay attention here. A package of three bred heifers all sired by the popular RF No Limits bull and mated to distinctive AI sires for added value and excitement next year – we think you will be impressed with this trio. Jetstream and LWCC bring a total of 4 heifer calves to the sale and all have been haltered and are prospects for any juniors looking for a project for next year.

Jetstream has a joint ownership heifer with our good friends, Scott and Emily Matthews and family. The Keystone Livestock herd although smaller in quantity, remains committed to quality and are a very enthusiastic family passionate about the breeds future. The black baldy heifer offered is exceptional from any angle and is being campaigned as a 4H project.

Destiny Simmentals is presenting six breds from the top pasture. Selecting those that we are comfortable sending anywhere, bred early to exciting new sires with no exposures. We selected the breds based on their dams and granddams longevity and contributions to our herd to increase the predictability of your success. Galvanizing these breds with an opportunity for a Darlin yearling with a few female sexed Rancher embryos. She is flat out functional and fault free and will create her own legacy. The Darlin ancestry started at a futures sale and as we have stated many times, take the Destiny genetics through the Futures One sale, add your management and produce results.

The four open heifers are from the top and are halter broke and all have made some trips to town where they are achieving results including the Caliber being slapped for reserve overall female in a very competitive all breed show. All four are quality show prospects but most important, all backed by great dams and elite sires. Watch for our MaxiMillion bull out this fall who has already qualified for the RAWF Supreme show. An open heifer prospect from him will showcase MaxiMillion who was the natural calf of 18X; his 14 year old dam still raising calves. Longevity is a critical success factor and our program breeds for this result. Thanks to Travis, Jessica, Denver and Cam for their work on these cattle.

The Cedar Creek lots are focusing on two influential cow families in the breed….the Sages and the Sheilas. Cedar Creek Sage has another standout, this year by Reddington, as well as some embryos by the popular RF Caliber. The ‘Sheila’ cow/calf pair is a joint entry with Destiny with proof of productivity with the calf at foot. All of these lots are built to work for their new owners and the calves were shown this year for anyone looking for a 4-H project.

We invite you to give us a call, text or to stop by our farm locations for a visit and evaluate the cattle. We certainly want to thank past buyers and bidders over our last 14 years and look forward to your attendance at our 15th Edition at Carson’s in Listowel. If you can’t be with us, please reach out to the Bohrson Marketing staff listed for their trusted assistance or follow along online with the good folks at DLMS. Thanks and we hope you have a great fall season.

A success story in the making. Just stop and admire this red bred. She is near impossible to structurally fault, she is as long as they come, has the volume everyone wants and she is laying down a beautiful udder. We think the options are endless on this female for years to come. The Darlin ancestry originated with a Futures One sale purchase by Juanita and Katie. Don’t miss out on this once and a lifetime deal because we are ready to work with you and make this heifer a legacy. She has been IVF flushed once.

TERMS: 50% ownership, no possession, no expenses except flushing costs where embryos and costs split 50/50. Live cattle split 60% to Destiny, 40% to buyer.

Bred to WLB Top Tier on April 14/24 (Safe - No Exposure) Ultrasound heifer calf

The mating legwork is done all you have to do is implant, calve and watch the legacy grow. A package of three quality 1 female sexed embryos with a minimum guarantee of one 60-day pregnancy. These embryos are sired by the $110,000 SVS Rancher 42H who is making them the way we want. These embryos are a unique and exciting opportunity to take advantage of a paternal sister out of 48L’s dam sold for $80 000 in the recent World Simmental Sale. A very predictable return on investment for you.

ERIXON DARLIN 2.0

This big bellied, soft made baldie heifer will be one of the first Ava’s Scream to sell. The dam is similar in her expressive rib and length of spine and front third extension. When you set her in motion, she hits her track every time. The dam was a past purchase from Checkers in 2016. She will be campaigned on our string this fall and giving the overwhelming feedback by many visitors, she will be one to make the queries on.

A RF Caliber heifer that has been stand out since birth with her big soggy make with mass of bone and to top she is an absolute power house and is going to grow into a big time cow. Her Erixon granddam is a showcase cow for her mass, power, athletic and youthful look. She has already hit the show ring being campaigned very successfully. Very quiet and docile prospect. If you’re in the business to make the next great one start here.

SIRE - BLACK GOLD AVA’S SCREAM

A red calf coming to you, and she is nothing short of impressive. Coming with a clean make front to back following in with big hip structure, long sweeping rib and gets out and moves. Her dam and grand dam are two of the most impressive red cows to walk in our herd and have perfect udders. As we have been dragging her out this fall, a lot of cattlemen are expressing how much they appreciate this kind.

Here’s the proof of the Futures One sale success! The dam of 17M was the leadoff calf we bought from Jetstream a few years back as we admired the Chocolate chip cow family and R Plus Uppercut. They flat out go to work. A heifer calf off walking herd bull, Destiny Maximillion. Maximillion is on the show road this fall and he is as impressive as they come. He is very long made, big footed, with lots muscle volume and dimension. 17M is a thing of beauty, longevity is built into this calf so plan to have her for many years.

SIRE - SVS RANCHER 42H

This yearling presents surplus power and performance with abundance of style. This LLW Card True North G71 daughter is soft made front to back, with loads of middle and laying down a tremendous udder just like her dam. Add to this package the chromed face and the depth of her pedigree. She is one you don’t want to miss out on. A unique calf is in the making, coming from our semen package on Mader Folsom Prison.

Bred to Mader Folsom Prison on March 21/24 (Safe - No Exposure)

Another true north daughter for our bred offering. This heifer is following right in her dams footsteps, big topped rugged made and has all the power to be a true herd bull maker. Her dam is headed for the donor pen so we can replicate females like this bred. This dam is one of Todd’s favorite cows in the herd. If you are looking to add pounds to your herd look no further, this is a heifer that will do just that.

Bred to Mader Folsom Prison on April 2/24 (Safe - No Exposure)

MADER FOLSOM PRISON

This is the one and only red bred in our offering this year. She is a bred that is easy doing, long spined, big hipped and a set of feet and legs under her to last a lifetime. Coming out of a family that all have perfect udders and lay down and produce. A top Tier calf inside will make the payback instant.

Bred to WLB Top Tier on Mar 17/24 (Safe - No Exposure)

Here’s a bred with an outcross pedigree. Her dam being a Quantum Leap and she is sired by one of our walking herd bulls. A moderate made heifer that blends nicely and is laying down a beautiful udder. One that will go on to write her own story book. Bred to the exciting easy calving sire.

Bred to CLRWTR Clear Advantage on April 20/24 (Safe - No Exposure)

WLB TOP TIER

A heifer that is ready to go out and work hard in your program. Her dam is a no miss cow year after year that we debate about entering our Donor pen. 69L is a big boned, big muscled female and has the top and middle in her to produce, while setting up a nice udder. Her maternal sister was the high selling bred to MADER ranches in the 2023 Futures One.

Bred to Mader Folsom Prison on March 17/24 (Safe - No Exposure)

Consigned by Jason Heideman

Last year’s leadoff heifer calf was a stout made, moderate DARLIN 2.0 progeny. She was purchased by Jason Heideman and family and we have been assisting them in her development and he is offering back to the industry some exciting Darlin 2.0 genetics through her JSUL Something about Mary daughter he purchased last fall at this sale. These embryos were mated to W/C Bankroll 811D. On offer will be 3 Quality 1 non sexed IVF embryos with a guarantee of one 60 day pregnancy.

Stored at Boviteq QC

DESTINY

A cow that is just hitting her stride and yet already has achieved more than expected. She produced a high seller to Crooked Creek in Edition 13, a big steer calf last year and a stunning calf by Schooley Standout 27G beside her this year. Good looker, good maternal, and great ROI potential here. The opportunity to purchase a pair of this quality in a production sale is exactly our motto at Jetstream - strive to produce a better product every year and offer your front end females every year in Futures One! See for yourself, Glitter 65G has checked our motto box again this year with ease!

AI to R Plus 5015C on March 29, 2024

Exposure: JETS/KEY Justice 14J (LFE Beast Mode X JETS/KEY Charm), May 1 –May 17, 2024.

A very eye appealing, well structured, performance heifer calf …… that inherits a lot of maternal attributes from her dam. The top side of her pedigree offers a next gen OMF Epic E27 son “Schooley Standout 27G” that sure clicked to produce Miss Madi Belle 39M! The Standout calves are typically docile and this one is in your pocket quiet. A junior show prospect that turns into a front pasture producer is the path for this one!

A name so fitting as she continues to produce good ones year after year! Regardless the mating, the outcomes are destined to be top of the keeper pen. This previous 4H project has been a big asset here at Jetstream and will be missed. We are proud to share with you a piece of our proven cow herd and anticipate her to bring added value to your program and attract the positive attention you desire. Proof is in her progeny that sell along side and her progeny continue to prove her value.

Exposure: JETS/KEY Justice 14J (LFE Beast Mode X JETS/KEY Charm), Reg#1363051, May 1 –May 17, 2024.

This one’s bumper sticker says ….. Baldies are Beautiful! Martina’s baldy face and attractive profile and front end extension grabs your attention but her long skeleton, strong top and sound feet and leg structure keep you looking. She’s no fluke as can be confirmed by her dam and her full sister that also sell. Step up on sale day for this 2024 Encore 4E presentation.

JESS 21G - MATERNAL SIB

Admired by visitors and rightfully so, her extra chrome is hard to miss and a very desirable red baldy package. This heifer is more than just good looks as she stems from our very productive Amaze 25A (Royal Winter Fair Reserve Champion) cow family and the popular and productive RF No Limits bull. Mated to CDI Trustee sexed female semen for what should prove to be an exciting opportunity.

JESS 57G - MATERNAL BROTHER

HOMO POLLED/HOMO BLACK

Once again, JETS/KEY Gem 31H has put another feature heifer calf into Futures’One! This beautiful baldy is big ribbed, powerful, attractive and very balanced. Her maternal sister sold last year to Benoit Daigle and Family and she has grown into a powerful farm favorite. When we look at the excellent hind leg, muscle expression over her top, her volume and consider the gentle disposition of JETS/KEY Sapphire 74M, she will surely be a fun one to have around next year for any junior. More importantly, count on her to be a productive cow with balanced EPDS. The pedigree is new to some, proven to many, with a nice blend of power and style which is backed by strong cows and will surely cement this female as one you should have marked with extra checkmarks!

CDI TRUSTEE - SERVICE SIRE

The RF No Limits bull worked well for us, as proven in our Futures Edition 15 offering of bred heifers. This solid black heifer might be the stoutest in the offering and all the balance to go with it. This is one that really should have been campaigned on the show road - the 2 year old class might be her calling yet. Maternal sibs sold through previous Futures One sales to Dunraven and Rick-Sha. Her dam will be 10 this year and is still going strong.

A solid lady in red sired by RF No Limits. Compact and well-built this heifer has a strong base that guarantees a productive cow. Lainy is hard to fault phenotypically and on paper as her EPD credentials are solid. She’s one of our best from 2023 and designed to last and be productive in your herd for many years forward. An exciting mating to R Plus 5015C – this will be one highly anticipated calf come January!

KCCI COUNTERTIME - AI SERVICE SIRE

A solid red sweetheart that stems back to a prolific Cobra cow - Arizona 11A that continues to produce a great one every year. Her dam is a moderate framed, nice uddered, well balanced cow that really did a great job on her first calf. We used KWA Shamrock last year and are happy with the results.

When you’re working fulltime in Alberta and not home to help with chores, Dad puts your heifer calf in the sale. A planned mating of “Harkers Icon”, the American Royal champion in 2015 and the consistent producing little tank of a mother. Lots of look, lots of hair, lots of potential with this mid January junior show prospect.

JETS 11A - GRANDAM
KWA SHAMROCK 151H - SIRE

Cedar Creek Alena is the natural calf from our donor cow Cedar Creek Sage 25H. In many ways she is so consistent with last year’s Sage heifer that sold to Destiny Simmentals with her attractive head, deep red colour and good length of body, however Alena may be a little softer made, have more depth of rib and extension through her front third. This heifer has a stacked pedigree with an abundance of donors and AI sires populating each row. We have committed to selling some of our best here at Futures and you can rest assured that this is one of them. Alena was shown by Ashlyn this year and she says that she will miss her a bunch. Owned with Bristol View Farms, Maple Lea Simmentals and Murray Farms.

Offering 3 #1 embryos from a conventional flush. Guarantee one 90 day pregnancy if planted by a certified embryologist. Embryos are stored with Dr. Robert Holtby in Port Perry ON. Buyer is responsible for shipping. We can likely go ahead and say that if you dropped the name Sage or Caliber in any simmental circle, people would have a pretty good idea of the genetics that you are referring to….well here we have both. Sage has been very productive and consistent for us, putting quality heifers in this years sale and last and averaging about 13 Grade A embryos per flush. Two years ago Robb Land and Livestock invested in some Sage 25H x Rancher embryos and that resulted in a quality bull and heifer calf for them. RF Caliber is as hot as it gets right now and these embryos are a recipe for success. We planted 5 from this mating this spring and we are pumped to see the offspring. Owned with Bristol View Farms, Maple Lea Simmentals and Murray Farms.

MATERNAL SISTER - CEDAR CREEK LANEY
CEDAR CREEK ALENA
CEDAR CREEK SAGE

Last year we included an open heifer from the Sheila cow family that was snapped up by Jetstream so we thought it might be fitting to feature two more Sheila descendants in this cow/ calf pair. The cow is a productive, good uddered four year old, just coming into her prime. She is a direct daughter of the tank MMWK 144E, now owned by Jo-Dreen and a granddaughter of the well known LFE Sheila 82A. Convoy Ann is bred early to Cedar Creek Walk This Way; the same mating as this good calf she is raising. Invest in a proven cow with her most productive years ahead of her.

Exposed to Cedar Creek Walk

This Way from Mar 18 - May 25. Observed bred Mar 20. Preg check favourable to this date

Destiny-Creek Sheila is a soggybellied, attractive calf that continues to get better each day…..and check out her giant ears. Knocking on the door of being February born, she is keeping pace with the calves a month older than her with ease. Her sire walks our pastures and is an embryo bull from Mader Walk This Way and WFL Flashy. He is long bodied, up headed and has huge perfectly shaped feet. For those that like to research pedigrees, check him out, his granddam has 20 registered progeny and happens to be the mother of the popular AI sire WFL Absolute. Sheila was shown by Tyson this year and is puppy dog quiet.
