Delivery: We will provide free delivery within 250km. If shipping out of province or country is required, we will assist in making arrangements. Testing and trucking is at buyers expense. Pick up options available after sale ends; to be arranged with Ryan or Sara Gilchrist. All animals must be picked up or delivered by November 30, 2024 unless prior arrangements have been made.
Payment: may be made by cheque or e-transfer, payable at the end of sale. Cheques and e-transfers can be sent to the breeder you purchased from. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made.
Health: All sale animals are fully vaccinated.
At birth - Gilchrist Genetics Heifers received Inforce 3, Calf Guard, ADE & Selenium. Nolara Farms Heifers received Inforce 3, ADE & Selenium, cows are vaccinated with Scour bos prior to calving. At pasture turn out and weaning - Gilchrist Genetics Heifers received Bovishield Gold One Shot, Fermicon 7/ Ultrabac 8, and Ivomectin. Nolara Farms heifers received Pyramid 5 with Presponse, Vision 8 and Ivomectin.

• All lots will sell under the standard terms and conditions put forward by the Canadian Simmental Association.
• Every animal sells to the highest bidder, as determined by FarmGate Auctions.
• Registration papers will be transferred to buyer after payment has been received.
• Animal purchased becomes responsibility of buyer at the end of the sale. We highly recommend that you purchase insurance. While we will always provide the utmost care of your animal, we are not responsible for any illness, injuries or mortality after the animal is declared sold.

Welcome to the fourth edition of Gilchrist Genetic Gems Female Sale. We are excited for this adventure to continue.
We run 100 momma cows, red & black purebred Simmentals and a commercial herd primarily Simmental x Angus based. We AI all our cows both purebred and commercial on their first cycle to add genetic diversity to our herd. In our offering you will find heifers sired by Sunrise Captain Blaze 5C, LFE Night Hawk 3013D, Hart State of War 056C, Harvie Red Summit 54B, and Mader Walk This Way 224B.
The heifer calves were weaned July 30th with the use of quiet weans for a less stressful transition. All the sale heifers are fully vaccinated. These heifers are out of productive cows and influential sires that we know will go out and work for their new owners. Whether you want to show or raise seedstock, at the end of the day you will have a productive female.
We welcome Larry and Nola Van Sickle of Nolara Farms to join us again this year with a small offering of their Purebred Red and Fullblood divisions. Photos were taken September 26th and videos of the heifers will be available around Thanksgiving and can be viewed on our Facebook pages (@GilchristGenetics or @NolaraFarms), Bohrson Marketing website or on the DLMS Farmgate listing.

Blazin’ Mickey 22M has been one to watch since she hit the ground! She’s a result of our embryo program. We feel the Sunrise Captain Blaze and Skors Black Mickey 246Z was a great cross! We purchased 246Z out of the Skors dispersal, and are we ever glad we were able to acquire her! She has been a great producer thus far, and we can’t wait to see what else she can do for our ET program! 22M displays a long body with good hip shape and spring of rib, all in a thick-haired, blaze face package! Blazin’ Mickey’s full ET sister in a red package sells as 25M later in the offering. You can find Blazin’ Mickey 22M in our stall at Olds Fall Classic.

We really admire the neck extension on this one! We had two Night Hawk daughters this year, we said we were only going to put one in the sale, but we felt that 23M needed to be seen also. Love this heifer! She’s sharp-fronted, balanced from front to back with good spring of rib! The udder quality on the Olivia cow family is impeccable! Olivia Mae will be making her first show appearance at Olds Fall Classic at the beginning of October.

We were not planning on selling any Mader Walk This Way females this year since his semen has been harder to acquire as of late. But here we are with the only Walk This Way female to be born at Gilchrist Genetics in 2024, and she’s in the sale! Dixie Melody 24M is out of a cow favorite - SKV Dixie Lullaby 20D. To say we love our Wheatland Circuit Breaker females would be an understatement! Moderate, easy-doing, and beautifully-uddered producers! Dixie Melody is a long-spined, structurally correct, quiet female who exhibits that good Walk This Way hair coat! She reminds us a lot of SKV Vintage Lace 27L, who we sold in this sale last year to Danica Woods. 24M would also make a great Junior project for anyone looking!

You read that right - it’s another heifer from the Mickey cow family, her grandmother is the donor of two of the ET’s 22M & 25M. Black Mickey is a long-bodied, clean-fronted female. She displays good muscle shape and a strong level top line. We would expect her to pattern very similar to her dam, 32J, who is moderate-framed and has a strong udder.

Red Reese 70M is the youngest in our offering. Her dam, ETZ 101Z, was also acquired from the Skors dispersal and started the Reese cow family here at Gilchrist Genetics! We flushed 101Z a couple years ago and we have two Liner 56U daughters working in the herd with beautiful udders and doing great jobs raising their first calves this year. Having those females in the herd already makes it a little easier to let Red Reese 70M go. 70M profiles nicely with a level top and with a trim neckline and feminine skull. She also carries ample rib shape, overall a very complete female. We have high hopes for this Red Summit female and her new owners.

Welcome to the Gilchrist Genetic Gems Sale. We can’t believe another year has gone by already. We hope everyone had a good year getting enough feed put up. There looks to be a good amount of feed in the province. With the price of steers and cull cows being quite high this fall, this may be the right time to invest in some new genetics for your herd.
We are happy to be consigning 7 of our top end heifer calves this year. In our offering there are 4 reds and 3 fullbloods, all of which come from productive cows. The four reds are sired by our herdsires Perks Kong 242K, Black Gold Lawmaker and an AI bull WS Epic. The three fullblood heifers are sired by our herdsires LNS Gatekeeper 49G and Kuntz Hotshot.

Talk about capacity! Epic Mist is out of WS Epic and a WFL Westcott first calver. We sold a Westcott daughter who we affectionately called Janice (LNS 16J) in our 2021 sale to Dream Maker Cattle Co. We have a couple of Epic daughters in our herd, and their production is impressive. One first calver weaned off a 900lbs bull calf this fall! This bold sprung female is one we like quite a bit. Could be a fun one to hang a halter on!

Merlot is the first of two heifer calves to sell out of our new red Junior herd sire, Perks Kong 242K. We got 3 heifer calves this year, and well, they are good. We kept one, and the other two are both in this sale! He makes them the way we like; long-bodied and thick with good growth as well. 18M’s dam is a moderate-framed Cowboy Cut daughter that raises a good calf every year. Mariah is the first heifer calf to sell out of LNS Gatekeeper 49G, a bull that we raised and used on our commercial cows for many years. We like his calves so much that we decided he better move to the purebred operation. Mariah is a very attractive female, short-marked, dark cherry red and goggles on both eyes. Makers Dream is a larger-framed Black Gold Lawmaker daughter. 35M exhibits a refined front third with a smooth shoulder, good neck extension tying into a beautiful Blaze face! Photo speaks for itself! Makers Dream is deep-bodied, structurally sound, and has nice teat size and placement. Her mom is a red blaze faced cow with a perfect udder. She is a cow who is high on our list as a great producer. The udders on lawmaker daughters have been impeccable, and we are sure 35M will be no different!

Miss Glimmer 38M is a heifer who should be staying home. She is out of Perks Kong and the LNS Glimmer 23G cow that never misses. 23G’s first calf was a bull that sold to Ash Berwest. Last year’s Officer heifer calf sold in this sale to Kuntz Simmentals and was successful in the show ring. 23G has been a great producer thus far, and we cannot wait to see what else she can do for us! Glimmer 38M is built right; stout-made, well-balanced on the profile with extra rib shape and a strong top line. She’s the right kind for both the show ring and production!

Malissa 45M is another one that should be staying home, but one has to sell the best, and we do have a sister already in the herd who is doing a great job on her first calf. 45M is out of 39G, who was a result of some Embryos we purchased; Antonius and the great Bar 5 SA Malissa 823N cow. Antonius was known as a female maker! 45M always caught my eye on pasture checks; has the look to be a great bull producer! She is a deepbodied, loose-hided female that tracks well on the move. She is entered in the Fullblood division at Farmfair at the beginning of November. You can buy this one with confidence to fit nicely in your herd.

Marla 53M is a heifer I really like. She is a larger-framed, strong-topped, longbodied female and has that look to be a great momma cow. She is the second offering out of our Gatekeeper bull and crossed well with a FGAF Guerrero daughter. The dam has a perfect udder, and great demeanour. Gatekeeper stamps his calves; same dark red, double goggled, polled package as her sister Mariah 28M earlier in our offering.

How to Participate in the DLMS Farm Gate Timed Auction with Extended Bidding
1. Visit dlms.ca and follow the link to the DLMS FarmGate timed auction site www.farmgatetimedauctions.ca, click the LOGIN/REGISTRATION button. First time users will select the REGISTER button from this page. Fill out the registration form to signup for a free user account and it allows you to select a username and password for use on all Farm Gate Timed auctions. This program will send you text and email messages whenever there is activity on your favorite lots or someone challenges your proxy bid and this is why you will be asked for both your current email and cell phone number. If you are a past participant in the Farm Gate Timed auctions simply enter your user name and password to continue. This takes you to a list of both current and upcoming Farm Gate Auctions.
2. You can choose your favourite lots in this sale at this time and the program will allow you to open either all sale lots or just your favorite lots on your screen. Any time there is active bidding on a lot you have identified on your favorite list you will get a text and/or an email noting this activity.
3. The program allows you to place a proxy bid on any sale lot. This in fact protects your interest in any lot of interest for you to a specified dollar value you set, when you may not be able to give 100% attention to the sale. If the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you but if some one else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maximum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will no longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and bidding again or moving your attention to a second lot of interest.
4. At closing time of the sale the entire sale will extend bidding if a bid is placed on any lot in the sale. Any bid received after close time will extend the sale by the time listed on each sale. In Most cases the time gets shorter the longer in to extended bidding the sale is. When no bidding occurs for the extended time the computer will declare the sale finished.
5. Following the sale the Owner or Sale Manager will invoice all buyers in the sale, please contact the seller with questions or to arrange delivery, pick up or shipping of your purchases.
