On behalf of the entire Genetic Distinction Group we thank you for taking the time to view our catalog for our 3rd Annual Bull Sale. This past year has presented all of us some very significant changes in our day to day lives, however one thing that is certain, the agriculture industry and beef sector has remained stronger than ever. Producers have been forced to be innovative in producing and marketing their product, and have met the challenge. Quality beef is in high demand, and many consumers have started to grasp the true value of their food and how it is produced.

DV Auctions RACEHORSE BIDDING WWW.DVAUCTION.COM

This year due to the challenges presented, we have changed the format of our auction. This year’s sale will be held in an online auction format with a racehorse style closing on DV Auctions. We feel that the ability to have a more personable experience with you ahead of time, will ultimately let you the customer make a more conscious decision about your bull investment. One thing that has surely stayed the same is that all of our consignors share a common vision, offering to you honest bulls, raised in a real world scenario. Feel free to reach out to any of the consignors about your bull needs, and we will do our best to help you find the bull that fits your programs needs. We would like to welcome you to the 3rd Genetic Distinction Bull Sale. It delights us to once again be joining our long-time friends Justin Van De Woestyne, Vandy Cattle, Prime Angus, Shaun and AmandaBryce and Family, Flat Top Cattle, Tyler and Suzanne Smyth and Roch Springs Show Cattle, our son Colten Brokenshire. It is a great sale combining Angus, Maine, Simmentals and Charolais breeds. We base our herd on low maintenance traits. Calving ease is first and foremost. Secondly, disposition in both the cows and herd bulls is also imperative. This has been built into our program for generations. Our kids, from the time they could sit up or walk, have always been in a tractor or out in the barn yard; therefore, the need for quiet dispositions. Another trait we have concentrated on is longevity. We have customers whose bulls are routinely lasting 6, 7 and 8 years. Replacing herd bulls due to structural breakdowns and excess feed as youngsters is a costly venture. Our old PTO cows are T, U and W’s. They have stood the test of time. Another trait is low maintenance. We expect our cows and herd bulls to maintain strictly on hay and high-quality chelated minerals. NO grain, or TMR; nothing besides a grassmix hay. We want them to maintain, do their job and even get fat on good ol’ hay. We strive to have cows that can maintain on as little as possible. We have even switched to feeding 1/3 straw and the cows have easily maintained the past 2 years. And lastly, good udders… they are a necessity not an option. Ruthless culling brings about uniformity and consistency. When walking through the herd there is not a noticeable difference between the simmental, angus, or commercial cows. Frame, functionality, and consistency. Tableland and Roch Springs bulls have been brought along slowly. Good quality hay makes up most of their daily diet. Grain is kept to a minimum, just enough to grow, and develop. They are fed with hand filled pails. No TMR, No Silage just grain and hay. These bulls have been raised like we are using them for ourselves, and we want them to work and to last. We are raising athletes - bulls that need to get out and move freely and breed cows. We expect these bulls to go out work and then gain ongrass or hay all fall/ winter until next breeding season. We will offer a $100 discount off the purchase price should you take your purchase home sale day. We ask that any bulls returning to our place be insured. Arrangements will be made for delivery by May 1st. Tableland will deliver bulls up to 300 kms free of charge. If you are in the Estevan area, we welcome you to stop by for a tour. We are available to discuss your herd sire requirements by phone, text message, email or Facebook. Follow us on facebook.com/tablelandcattle. Pictures and videos will be available for viewing. ROCH SPRINGS SHOW CATTLE

ESTEVAN, SK

Colten: 306-461-6262

Welcome to the 3rd Annual Genetic Distinction Bull Sale. We are excited to offer you another set of heavy muscled,

easy fleshing, Angus, and Maine-influenced bulls. We are extremely proud of the set we have to offer and feel that there is something to suit everyone’s needs. Roch Springs feels that in order to have elite bull prospects, you have to have elite dams behind them. The cowherd is heavily A.I. influenced; focusing on calving ease and maternal traits. The females that raise Roch Spring’s bulls are moderate in frame, keen-footed, carry great udders, super quiet dispositions, and are overall low maintenance cattle. We feel this shines through prominently in the bull progeny that we have to offer. The bulls are heavily muscled, easy fleshing, good footed, and structurally sound. We pride ourselves on raising bulls that endure for the long run to last for the commercial cow/calf producer. The bulls are fed on a strict program that keeps them athletic, free-moving and looking fresh. Along with a heavy culling process when selecting who makes the final cut for the sale to ensure you are getting the best we have to offer. With that being said, we would be happy to assist you in selecting your next herdsire; as well as making new friendships. There is always someone at the ranch, so please feel free to call and stop in for a visit or a tour anytime. We look forward to helping you in any way we can in selecting your next Roch Springs herdsire. Roch Springs will deliver within 300 km of Estevan free of charge, distances farther than that we will meet at a central location. Bulls can be housed at the ranch until May 1, 2021, if needed; but we do require them to be insured. Thank you for considering Roch Springs. All the best, Colten Brokenshire

VANDY CATTLE CO.

BENSON, SK

JUSTIN: 306-461-6031 / Nicole: 306-436-7993

Welcome to our 3rd Annual Genetic Distinction Sale. We are excited to work along side the other consignors this year. We invite you to the farm anytime to evaluate our offering. We are confident in our bulls to go out and work in a lot of different programs. Our breeding program is built upon a high priority of maternal power. A good uddered, structurally sound, heavy constructed female, that will thrive in our environment is our first priority. We believe in these things because as much as pounds pay at the sale barn, maternal instinct and efficiency improves your bottom line. Our sale offering this year is a very deep set, backed by our very best cows, and some of the industry’s most predictable genetics. Our bulls are developed with your investment in mind. These bulls are fed an Oat-Corn ration, free-choice dry hay, and a high quality mineral pack. Their high roughage diet, contains no silage, and is designed to develop and grow these bulls rather than fatten them. We do this to ensure the longevity of your investment, these bulls need to go out and work for a number of years. If you have any questions about the bulls or the online bidding process please feel free to reach out to us. We would love to assist you in your next bull purchase. Sincerely, Justin VanDeWoestyne & Nicole McKim

FLAT TOP CATTLE CO.

SWIFT CURRENT, SK

Tyler & Suzanne Smyth: 306-741-0065

We would like to Thank You for viewing our offering to the 3rd Annual Genetic Distinction Bull Sale. We continue to strive to create functional, no nonsense type of cattle. We have high expectations of our cattle to not only survive, but thrive in short hard grass conditions. That has led us to make easy doing, highly functional cattle, that we feel will go out to any setting and do well. We have a large focus on females that are great footed and uddered; and we encourage you to come to the farm at any time to view the herd. That invitation we would also like to pass on to the bull pen; they are always available for viewing. Our bulls are hand fed a moderate ration with corn/oats/barley, protein supplements and boostered with a chelate mineral top-dress, as well as grass hay to promote the development of sound breeding cattle. The bulls have been vaccinated at branding and weaning with Vista Once SQ, and an 8 Way with Somnugen. Bulls have been Ivomeced at branding & weaning, as well as Sabred this spring. We are more than happy to work with you, in the assistance of getting your bulls to their new home. We will let the pictures and videos of the bulls do the rest of the talking. Sincerely Tyler, Suzanne, Cooper and Scarlet

This calf has had the look since day one; smooth polled with that killer look, the hair and the cow family to back it all up. This bull’s mother is as perfect an uddered female that one can find, and she is great footed! This will be one of many Tartan 369B sons to sell in the sale; and we can’t say enough about whether it is bulls, purebred females, steers, or commercial females this bull has left a long-lasting influence on our herd. This bulls ¾ brother sold in the 2020 sale to Carmichael Colony.

This big bodied, smooth polled bull out of Tartan 369B, is another head turner. If you study this one’s pedigree, there is a lot of maternal greatness in there. This smooth striding, near perfect footed bull sure is impressive in the flesh; with that sharp fronted but bold rib and hip, he checks a lot of boxes. His mother was purchased from the Wood River herd reduction and she is another great female that catches a lot of eyes from anyone that has toured our cowherd.

Flat Top Cattle Co. These Tartan calves are all very similar in their design and look, so it is hard not to be a broken record when describing them. This one has a little more power and performance in the group. His mother will always be bringing in one of the biggest calves every fall. Very good in his leg set and structure. Study him in the picture and on the video or better yet come see him in person.

Another big bold made Tartan 369B son that continues that muscle shape and structural correctness of his brothers in the sale. His ¾ was exhibited this fall at Llyodminister Stockade Round-Up bringing home Res Champion Senior Bred Heifer. His mother has been in our flush program producing very attractive and sought-after cattle.
