1. Visit https://farmgatetimedauctions.ca, then click on the LOGIN/ REGISTRATION button. First time users will select the REGISTER button from this page. Fill out the registration form to signup for a free user account and it allows you to select a username and password for use on all Farm Gate Timed auctions. This program will send you text and email messages whenever there is activity on your favorite lots or someone challenges your proxy bid and this is why you will be asked for both your current email and cell phone number. If you are a past participant in the Farm Gate Timed auctions simply enter your user name and password to continue. This takes you to a list of both current and upcoming Farm Gate Auctions.

2. You can choose your favourite lots in this sale at this time and the program will allow you to open either all sale lots or just your favorite lots on your screen. Any time there is active bidding on a lot you have identified on your favorite list you will get a text and/or an email noting this activity.

3. The program allows you to place a proxy bid on any sale lot. This in fact protects your interest in any lot of interest for you to a specified dollar value you set, when you may not be able to give 100% attention to the sale. If the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you but if some one else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maximum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will no longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and bidding again or moving your attention to a second lot of interest.

4. At closing time of the sale the entire sale will extend bidding for 5 minute if a bid is placed on any lot in the sale. Any bid received after 6 PM will extend the sale by 5 minutes from the time of that bid. When no bidding occurs for 5 min the computer will declare the sale finished.

5. Within 24 hours of the sale close DLMS will contact winning bidders via email with an invoice payable to Greenvalley Ranch Ltd. Transfer of papers and delivery will be arranged with Greenvalley Ranch Ltd upon sale completion.

What is racehorse style sale close? Racehorse style sale close is when the entire sale stays open in extended bidding. This type of sale allows you as the bidder to change to a different lot within the same sale if the bidding has gone in to extended bidding.

how will extended bidding work? When we get to the close out end time the clock for close extends with any bid placed with less than 5 min on the clock. This type of extended bidding turns the end time to more of a soft time. Extended bidding allows bidders to compete in lots like a real auction and give all bidders the same time to make a decision. Always follow the clock to see how much time remains in the sale you are interested in.

Huge welcome to our Fourth annual bull sale. Where has the time gone? Seems like yesterday Scotty and Snides were helping to find the first females to start our herd. Years have flown by and with that we want to thank the Bohrson team for all their help in selecting genetics to add to our program. I will give Taylor a special mention because he is my closest rep of the team, and is most often the eyes for me at sales and truly understands what we are looking for. Thank you to all our customers for the support and trust in our program! We vow to continue increasing quality of our herd by selecting hard. This year we are set to implant around 60 embryos which will raise our quality yet again. We are proud of our females, and that the majority of our embryos are off cows we own or have raised. Our bull pen is truly a reflection of the quality and direction we are headed. Every year we want to see an improvement and this year it is very evident we are heading in the right direction.

This fall Zane and Adalyn started a little Full Blood program. We purchased 2 bred heifers and one open heifer calf, all being polled. So far, we have 2 full blood bulls that are destined for next years sale. You might even see Zane on the halter at the Vermilion fair with Maggie. We are glad for good help around the ranch. Isaac has been with us for over 2 years now keeping things running. It sure is nice to have fun with those you work with. This past spring, we had an entertainer join the team. 2023 was a year of many challenges across the prairies. We started out drier than we have been in years and were lucky enough to get just enough rain late summer to make a crop and replenish some grass to graze late. As we sit now 2024 looks like we are off to a dry start but its gotta rain some time so we farmers just carry on. We could have never predicted the outcome of 2023 for the prefix GVR. A heifer we raised off of a sire we raised won everywhere she went topping it off with a Supreme win! Peppa was the second Simmental to win this title she shares with the great 202Z. Ole hawk eye Dalton Payne has an eye for cattle and when he laid eyes on Peppa as a calf he knew he wanted her. He suggested to the Noble boys that this was worth the partnership and at our last Border City Simmental Sale they were on top when Col.

Ryan Dorran dropped the hammer. The time and breeding were right and the boys took banners everywhere they went. We were sad to see this heifer leave the farm, but couldn’t be more happy with who she went to and where they took her. So, a huge congratulations to the Noble’s of Black Gold crew and Dalton Payne for their success with the Peppa pair.

If we didn’t call her Scream, we should call her Efficient. 6105D hasn’t ever disappointed us in either bull or heifer calves. All her offspring have her easy fleshing ability and shape no matter the sire. I always joke that this cow could get fat on fresh air and straw and I’m not sure it is a joke. I have never seen this cow lacking flesh and look at this line up of sons. If you get a chance to tour our bull pen, we would love to show you the sisters to these bulls. We are confident that there would be no disappointment to be had. We all know how important the bottom line is and efficiency is how we improve our margins. I feel that this breed is all about efficiency and that the efficiency of 6105D makes her a flagship female in the Purebred Simmental breed.

Dutton made a few miles this past fall with his best buddy Bryon and myself. He was a class winner at Agribition and placed in every class he was shown. I believe it would be almost impossibletofind another bull that has such a gentle demeanor. 5L’s easy fleshing is consistent with every 6105D calf we have ever raised, no matter that sire used.Rancher has made some outstanding calves in our operation, and we feel the sky is the limit for what this bull could do for any program utilized in. Please note it is only the red bull in the picture that sells, we would be nervous to try guarantee the one with the hat on.

As I write this, I am watching 17B push out a calf. 17B was a picked up out of Beag’s dispersal and what a snag she was. Its just awesome to see proven cows with rock solid feet and nice udder; with teat placement and length and udder size, we would love to replicate off 17B and put on every cow we have. When we had the opportunity to flush Beverly, we thought why not go back to a very well proven successful sire like Captain Morgan. Although we are still waiting for a red heifer from this mating, we sure are not disappointed in a bull like 79L. Long, deep, hairy and hetero black why not make use of this bull on any herd of cows.

We purchased the walking rights on Tidal Wave at FNL and he has proven to be a great heifer bull. Sight Unseen Purchases

If you are unable to attend the sale please contact myself or any of the Bohrson Marketing sales staff and we will gladly assist you to ensure a bull is chosen that suits your needs. For the sight unseen purchases we guarantee satisfaction upon delivery when the purchase is consulted.

Delivery

We will deliver the bulls to central points in Western Canada by April 1st. Transport of bulls not taken on scheduled delivery runs will be the buyers responsibility. For bulls headed to the Eastern provinces the transport cost will be the responsibility of the buyer.

USa delivery

Greenvalley Ranch will assist in arrangements for the cattle to be shipped to wherever you are in the US, at the buyers cost. All bulls sold to the USA will be charged an additional $250/bull to cover testing and border crossing costs. Payment for export cattle must be 50% prior to testing, and the balance will be due prior to shipping.

Payment Options

Bulls must be paid for in full before delivery. Please call Hugh prior to the sale if you would like to make alternate payment arrangements. The right of property shall not pass until settlement is made in full.

View the catalog and videos of all animals online at: www.dlms.ca and cattlevids.ca. This will be an online only sale. All of the sale cattle will be available for viewing prior to the sale, at Greenvalley Ranch.

Right To Semen

Greenvalley Ranch reserves the right to collect semen at their expense and the buyers convenience. Any semen collected will be for Greenvalley Ranch’s in herd use only, unless specified in the terms of sale of a lot.

Hoof Trimming

No feet have been trimmed on any sale bulls.

All bulls are guaranteed to breed, semen tested and vet inspected, and under a full herd health program. The Standard Canadian Simmental Association guarantee applies. We do not warranty against injury or illness after the sale, and encourage the use of insurance for that purpose. Greenvalley will have replacement bulls on hand to cover your breeding season should an issue arise with your bull. Under no circumstances shall Greenvalley be responsible for more than the purchase price of the sale animal.

Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. In an effort to protect the buyers interests, we strongly recommend insuring the bulls. There are many insurance options available, including a 6 month plan to get them through their first breeding season.
