My name is Sloan Walker and I am almost 15 years old. I am a grade 9 student at Hugh Sutherland School. I have had a great 4th year in High Steaks. When I am not attending High Steaks events, I enjoy spending my free time with friends, and going to rodeos. This is my 2nd year pulling my Pro Card to ride steers professionally, I also ride Crooked Horn, & some FCA, CRA, WRA & LRA. My steer profits will help get me down the road and I will be advertising my Steer Buyer as a Sponsor on my social media for the rest of the rodeo season. My steer Snowball is an Angus X Charlais steer that is moderate in size and ready to fill someone’s freezer!
Don’t let this unique silhouette fool you! Saiko is a homegrown Waygu which just happens to be some of the best beef in the world. Saiko is hand fed twice a day to assure that he has beautifully marbled cuts of beef for your freezer. You will definitely want to check him out! When I’m not with my steer I compete in high school rodeo with my mare Gypsy. You can also find me on the ice playing hockey. I am super passionate about my animals and work very hard to get them where they are. Come visit me at the sale to chat.
Kashton is a huge animal lover and competes in Team Roping & Tie Down Roping. He is 15 years old and in Grade 9. Kashton enjoys working with his Steer. Jett has been a great steer and hasn’t missed a feeding since we got him! Jett has been awesome to work with throughout the year. Next year his goal is to do more clipping/Fitting and get better at showmanship. Kashton plans to invest maybe in his first vehicle if there is a profit from the sale of his steer.
This is Brock’s 3rd year in High Steaks. He has really enjoyed showing cattle and learning from all of the knowledgeable cattlemen and women in our club. He purchased his steer from Jill and Cole Harvie.
My name is London and this is my 4th year in the High Steaks Club. Have been successfully been showing my steer No Doubt at several shows over the past 10 months with a lot of success. We have participated in 12 junior events so far and No Doubt has either been slapped Grand or Reserve Champion at all the shows. I would like to thank my past buyers for supporting me in my passion for showing livestock.
My name is Zach Flaig and my steer project was home grown and generously fed twice daily at my farm just outside of Carstairs. I am a previous winner of the rate of gain championship buckle in the high steaks jr beef club so I can assure you that this steer is properly finished to provide my buyer with some of the best home raised beef in all of Alberta, possibly the world!
Stella has a huge passion for cattle. She loves working with her show cattle and is also a huge asset around the farm doing everyday activities! She has worked particularly hard this year preparing her High Steaks cattle! Thanks so much for taking interest in our club and supporting youth in the beef industry!
Hi and welcome to our 4th annual high steaks show and sale. We really appreciate your support of us all. My steer this year is a home raised sim / angus. He has been a real easy feeding calf since the start and very easy to work with. I hope to enter Tubby in our clubs first carcass competition to see how he grades if my buyer agrees. Thanks again for coming and hope you all enjoy our hospitality.
Tinley has been in the club since its inception. She enjoys all aspects of club activities especially the grooming/fitting with friends. Big Boy has been eating well and never missed a beat! Tinley is a Jr High School Rodeo Athlete who loves speed along with roping at rodeos and in the branding pen.
Hi I’m Karsen Van Sickle this year my steer is Legend. Legend’s mom was my first heifer i showed in HSJB 3 years ago, she was reserve champion female that year. I have a real passion for farming, whether it be working cattle with my family, or driving a tractor in the fields, I Love it all! I hope to see you June 1 @ the Timber River Station where there will be some Prime beef on offer.
I am Harper! I am almost 13 years old and I love all things Cows, Rodeo & Friends! I love high steaks because I learn so many new things and get to spend time with people doing the same stuff as my family & Agriculture feeds the world + is a great lifestyle! Beef Stew is an Angus X Simmental steer that I bought from Shermans and he is as Solid made as they come. He is so quiet and has been a great friend of mine in my 4th year with a steer. With this, I will be advertising my Steer Buyer as a Sponsor for the rest of the season if you purchase Beef Stew.
Aubrey was very excited to join the High Steaks Junior Beef Club this year! Aubrey is 12 years old and in grade 6. When Aubrey isn’t busy working with her show cattle she enjoys playing hockey, badminton, skiing and golf. Aubrey was able to take her steer Nemo to a couple junior shows this spring and is looking forward to the High Steaks show and sale. She has really enjoyed all of the educational opportunities that the club has provided.
Kaislee loves horses, Junior Rodeos & her Market Steer. She is 12 years old and in Grade 6. Kaislee just qualified for her 1st Alberta Junior High Rodeo Provincial Finals in Pole Bending & Ribbon Roping. Kaislee enjoys working with her Steer and she is looking forward to a summer of riding her horses Dash & Al . Kaislee’s 4th year with a Market Steer has been great with lots of learning. Her steer was awesome to work with and had a lot of hours spent working with Frosty. Next year her goal is to do more clipping & Fitting. Kaislee plans to save her earnings for another horse one day.
Bella has had a great year with her home grown steer Dandelion. She loves helping around the farm and is becoming a great help with calving, feeding and even tubed a bloated heifer on her own this year. She loves to play hockey, baseball and Jump Horses.

Special thanks to you for taking the time to come and support him and his friends on this show and sale day!
My name is Chick Harvie and I’m in Grade 5. This year has been a challenging one with my steer “SALT N PEPPER”. Like his name, he was a little spicy when I picked him in the fall. I have spent a lot of time in the barn to get him quiet enough to show. He’s been hand fed all winter and I’ll guarantee he’ll be some tasty Alberta beef with just a touch of salt n’ pepper! I’ve been busy all winter working on my cattle projects and trapping coyotes and beavers, all my true passions!!

When I’m not busy working on my show cattle, I love watching tv, playing outside, & playing with our kittens.
Hello and welcome. My Steer this year is a home raised sim x angus who I call RIP. Not only is he dressed all in black like the Yellowstone character but he also has a ripped ear from scratching on a fence and pulling his RFID tag out when he was on pasture last summer. RIP is very gentle and I could almost scratch him in the pasture last summer when we were selecting our high steaks projects so I knew he would be a good fit to work with all year. I hope you all enjoy the show and sale.
Hi my name is Owen Flaig and this is my second year in the High steaks Jr. Beef club. My steer Louie is a sweet idiot and loves when you scratch him. He will be a great addition to your freezer and hopefully will earn me enough money this year to buy a new set of goalie gear for hockey in the fall. Please stop by the show and sale on June 1, 2024.

I would like to thank my last years buyers that grouped up - Western Litho, Prairie Ad, Abbotsford Vet, DMI, CattleVids & RME.
My name is Gentry Harvie, I am 8 years old and in Grade 3. My home grown Simmental steer is awesome! He’s been hand fed twice a day and loves his barley. I was even big enough this year to lift the pails myself. Be sure to consider my steer, it would sure be funny to prank your guests by telling them you’re serving “LEFTOVERS” and surprise them with the best Alberta Beef on the plate.

This year our members purchased a steer from Isabella Shierman’s family to raise as our club steer. The proceeds of selling the club steer are to help the kids with expenses to run the club throughout the year. Please consider this steer to fill your freezer and help the kids & club!
