Welcome to the 2024 edition of the Robb/Hoegl/Greenwood Bull sale. What an exciting sale it will be at our new location, Hoegl Livestock, NE of Lloydminster.

We are very grateful and honored by the loyalty and ongoing support we have received from our customers. It is a privilege to raise our families and work in production agriculture, serving some of the highest caliber cattlemen and women in the industry.

We have all been exceptionally happy watching this group of bulls develop, along with an elite group of open heifers selling from Robb’s and Hoegl’s in this year’s sale. The thought and foresight into making this offering the best quality we can starts with breeding decisions, with our customers’ needs front and center.

The sale combines the top of each of our herds, with a nice combination of Fullbloods, red and black Simmental and Angus. The bull sale offering is selected by all three programs with exceptionally high standards; we offer only bulls we would look for to improve our own herds with sound, high quality performance bulls, built to last and most importantly backed by great cow herds. We are excited to offer over 20 embryo transfer calves from some of the best cows in the industry. We look forward to helping you move your program in the direction you wish. One of the highly anticipated sales each and every spring is the Robb Hoegl Greenwood bull sale as it represents 2 different breeds and 3 elite programs within the beef industry. The large amount of repeat customers that are seen year in and year out just speaks to the product and more importantly the people that make up this sale group. This is truly one of the most diverse sets of bulls we see annually and the options will be endless on February 22 at the new location, Hoegl Livestock, just North of Lloydminster. The Robb Farms set of cattle on offer reprsent some of the most elite genetic combiations in the entire industry. The embryo transfer cattle are backed by some of the most sought after donor cows in existence and are the type you can build a program around. As always, big, powerful sire groups from impressive walking bulls are represented in the offering, including the exciting first crop from the $102,500 Ava’s Scream.The bulls are as deep in quality as ever and are extremely consistent all the way through. Big hipped, broad topped, attractive cattle that can elevate a program. New this year is your opportunity to purchase open replacement females from the Robb Farms program. These females are selected right off the top of the pen with many of them out of their embryo program. These are big league females and are the only opportunity to purchase females with the LRX prefix.

Hoegl Livestock has developed their deepest set of bulls on offer to date for this 19th annual bull sale. Again, their matriarch donor female, Lady A 51A has provided a record flush of fullblood bulls that can suit the needs of any program. Past that impressive set of sons, the fullblood bulls are well represented in sire groups by their prioven Mark 710F herdbull and new up and comer Darwin 8H. The red and black bulls are lead off with the rookie calf crop by the $70,000 Crossfire herdbull and the proven herdbulls Lewis 317H and Full Velocity 117F. This year also features the most embryo transfer bulls in their offering, an exciting opportunity to step into bulls with popular, proven pedigrees out of some of the very best cows avaible in the industry. Their bulls are easy doing, responsibly developed options bred for longevity. Some of the most proven bulls are utilized to create sire groups hard to find and with well over half of the offering being out of their ET program, you can bet the cows behind these bulls are absolutely flawless. Youngest Fullblood on offer that is an exciting homo polled option. Long spined, dark red and super stout hipped. Nearly 900 pounds at weaning time and born much younger than the rest. This guy has never been left in the dust. A really good Darwin son to put some performance in a calf crop while knocking off all the horns. His dam is a gorgeous Blue Print cow that is out of a really nice old Uncle Kracker cow that did a great job for many years for us.

Keep every daughter 43L leaves you and enjoy the cheque when you sell his sons each fall as they will guarantee rise to the top as some of the heavyweights. These Darwin sons are as consistent and as exciting as a Fullblood sire group of bulls as we have had in some time. Darwin 8H absolutely impresses when you see him in person. A dark red, homo polled, non dilutor Lenny son that is a one of the favourites amongst visitors. 20L is easy to find and even easier to appreciate for his balanced, complete look. His sire is one of our most impressive mature herd bulls to view in the flesh. Awesome, big feet, big, stout, muscle expression and just easy to look at. 20L seems to be following right into his sires foot steps. His dam is a typical Commander daughter, these females are angular and extremely attractive with beautiful udders and they seem to just down right produce and get the job done. 20L will have lots of circles come sale day!

These “Lenny” sons are like peas in a pod. Dark red. Moderate framed, complete and balanced from front to back. They always get spotted in the pen as they consistently have their sires stamp of bulging muscle expression, strong leg structure and eye appeal. 40L’s Canon sired dam is a top young female that fits the mold of that sire group being strong uddered and easy keeping.

Super stout, robust made Lenny son here in 45L. You will really appreciate this dark hided, heavy haired individual and if you stop by to tour before the sale to look at some cows, you will appreciate his productive young dam. Last year she put a feature bull into the good Kurjata Ranching program and her own dam, the 213Z had a lengthy career here putting many bulls into top commercial operations and many daughters retained. If you wanna talk cow family and longevity coupled with power and pounds, take 45L into serious consideration.

An absolute chunk in the Fullblood section. These “Lenny” bulls are very consistent in type and kind and if you come tour the bull pen before the sale, we would be more than proud to show you “Lenny.” He is one of the best looking herd bulls we have ever had around. The soft made, easy doing body type gets transmitted each time and 50L is no exception. His productive dam annually puts a keeper heifer in the replacement pen and her only other bull calf was a a popular calf in our last sale to Cole Brochu.

A low set, easy doing, super stout muscled Lenny son that is easy to appreciate for the red meat he brings to the table. He would work so well on a set of straight Angus cows bringing some muscle and performance to the equation while adding a blazed face. His dam is a gorgeous Uncle Kracker daughter that does a lot right. Uncle Kracker was one of the popular 18U donors for Black Golds first calves that we snatched up and he sure did a good job leaving us productive cows.

A really long bodied, smooth made individual that is good coloured, with added muscle expression. This guy will add pounds to your calf crop. His mother is a super uddered, wedge shaped Raptor daughter that is a favourite. A full sister to 63L is a top bred heifer poised to be a favourite amongst the first calvers this year.

A true calving ease specialist in this Fullblood bull off a big time cow. His dam will enter our donor pen this spring and was purchased from Johnson Ranching as a high seller through the Camrose Country Classic. 73L was in dam of his perfect uddered, attractive dam. She is a Lady A 51A grand daughter and we see so much of the old girl in this new donor. 73L is smooth made, flat shouldered, tidy headed with awesome feet and legs. His sire, Battle Cry has had a large impact on the industry the last couple of years and good bulls like 73L are good reason why.

THESE CROSSFIRE SONS ARE EXACTLY THE TYPE WE FEEL PEOPLE CAN UTILIZE NO MATTER WHAT YOUR PROGRAM OR OPERATION IS. THEY HAVE ADDED FRAME AND SCALE, LENGTH, DEPTH AND JUST OVERALL QUALITY. CROSSFIRE PUTS A GREAT FOOT UNDER HIS PROGENY AND ADDS MUSCLE AND POWER. 7L IS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF THE SIRE GROUP, MODEST BIRTHWEIGHT, BIG WEANING WEIGHT AND TONNES OF PAYWEIGHT. 7L WILL SIRE THOSE CALVES THAT COME EASY AND THEN EXPLODE WITH GROWTH FROM BIRTH TO WEANING. THESE CROSSFIRES ARE THE CATTLEMAN’S KIND THAT PAY THE BILLS COME WEANING.

Crossfire strikes again in a low-modest birthweight bull in 11L that was still nearly 1,000 pounds come weaning. We can’t say enough good about these Crossfire sons that are truly the easy doing, low maintenance kind that just flat out work. 11L is long spined, soft made and powerful. His mother is a tidy, wicked uddered Rock daughter that we wish we had more of. 11L will sire you a payweight set of calves that won’t sacrifice maternal quality to keep those good replacements back.

ANOTHER ONE OF THESE REALLY GOOD CROSSFIRE SONS. CROSSFIRE WAS A $70,000 ACQUISITION FROM SVS AND WE ARE THRILLED WITH THIS FIRST CALF CROP. CROSSFIRES DAM IS A MATERNAL SISTER TO THE BREED GREAT, TYCOON. 81L IS A VERY COMPLETE BLAZE FACED INDIVIDUAL THAT IS JUST VERY HONEST AND HARD TO PICK A HOLE IN. HE IS A GREAT BLEND OF BOTH SIDES OF HIS PEDIGREE WITH THE MODEST BIRTHWEIGHT AND POWER AND PERFORMANCE HE BRINGS TO THE TABLE. IF YOU’RE AFTER A WHITE FACED BULL THAT CHECKS A LOT OF BOXES, HAVE A LOOK HERE.

When we decided we were going to start offering some open heifers in our bull sale we knew we were going to need to dig deep and offer some true features. 555L is just that. A full sister to our 2023 high seller, Dewalt, purchased by McMillen Ranching and Canadian Sires that is just gorgeous. Soft made, attractive and also homo polled to boot. 555 is a cornerstone type female to build around and one we are very proud to offer for sale.

The popularity of our Darwin bulls and the few daughters we marketed in 2023 really made us want to offer another one to the public. As we analyzed cow families and production records, we knew 542L would be a great representation of our program from the Connee cow family. 542’s dam has put 4 productive daughters into our operation and the one son she’s had was a feature to the boys at Vegreville Colony in 2020. You will appreciate 542 for her colour and pigment, muscle shape and feminity.

Another one of these good Full Velocity females that we can’t speak highly enough of. They all grow into jammy, awesome cows. 534L comes from one of our longest lines of cows in the herd. Great grandam was a cornerstone black female in our herd we showed successfully many years ago and all her descendants flat out work. Dam, 503C has been a production giant with 3 daughters working in herd and two bulls that have gone to two long time customers MJM Enterprises and Coteau Grassland Management. You’re buying a true piece of program here in one of our most productive cow families.

Full Velocity is well represented throughout our bull sale offering and we wanted to show what he can do on the female side of things. His daughters in production are super uddered, big volumed and productive. 559L is out of a beautiful half fleck cow and you can really see the resemblance in this mother daughter combo.

The lone black female in our heifer offering and a unique one at that. A black hided Amber daughter whose mother was an acquisition from Lewis Farms. The Ambers are some of the most famed cows at LFE and females like 52E make it obvious why. Much like her dam, 532 is tanky, square made and level. This will likely be some of the last chances you ever get to acquire some Full Velocity daughters and if you come early for a tour at the farm to see some in production, you’ll want to grab every last one.

It is a pleasure working with the hard-working folks at Hoegl Livestock and Greenwood Angus. The cowherd utilizes a customized winter mineral program that is balanced to the forages they have harvested. This helps in the proper development of the bull calves at a young age and in utero. The bulls feeding program is built to maximize forage utilization and gut health.

The bulls are developed on grass with their dams and then moved onto a balanced TMR that promotes lean muscle growth. Organic minerals are used to ensure proper immune function and overall health of the bulls. The nutritional health and development of the bulls and the entire cowherd is of utmost importance and is continually being tweaked to meet environmental and seasonal conditions.
