Welcome to the 35th Annual Sunny Valley Simmentals Bull Sale! We are excited to host you at the ranch to showcase our 2024 bull offering. This year’s offering is once again very diverse, featuring Red, Black and Fullblood bulls. There is a good selection of low birth, calving ease bulls as well as performance bulls for you to choose from. Each bull is backed by a quality mother, with many of the offering coming from our embryo program. We cull these bulls and the cowherd extremely hard and are constantly trying to make these cattle more efficient and problem free. They are once again developed on a high roughage TMR ration under the guidance of BeefSmart. We do not push these bulls, they are grown out responsibly to allow them to reach their genetic potential and ensure longevity.
2024 was certainly an exciting year in the cattle business! We saw record prices for feeder cattle and cull cows and bulls. It was great to see and all signs point to it continuing going forward. After a number of years of drought, 2024 was a better year for moisture in our area and much of the province. We have an abundance of feed which is certainly nice for a change.
We hope that you can join us to celebrate our 35th Annual Bull Sale. We encourage you to come prior to the sale to view the bulls when your schedule allows. Semen Collection: Sunny Valley reserves the right to collect semen on any bull in the sale for in herd use only. Semen will be collected at the seller’s expense and the buyer’s convenience.
Health & Fertility: All bulls will be semen tested and sell fully guaranteed. Bulls and females are on a full vaccination program that includes. Inforce 3 (at birth), Pyramid 4 with Presponse (spring & fall), Tasvax 8 (spring & fall), Ivomec (Oct & Jan).
US Buyers: Sunny Valley will do the necessary health testing for export. Trucking arrangements will be made and cost will be the responsibility of the purchaser.

Welcome to this milestone 35th annual Sunny Valley Simmentals Bull Sale. On behalf of the entire Libke family and all of us at Bohrson Marketing Services we wish to invite you to join them in celebrating this special sale with yet again another powerful and deep in quality set of Simmental Beef Bulls. The SVS breeding philosophy has remained the same and has never wavered over these last 35 years and although the quality may have changed in a positive matter the course of over 3.5 decades, their commitment to raising sound and functional cattle and keeping a close working relationship with their customers has not. As you study the catalogue, you will notice many relatable sires that see use in the industry. The likes of Tycoon, Betts, Rancher, Justified, Bond, Dynasty and Captain Morgan have all been raised and successfully utilized here and have not only positively impacted this program, but many across the world. As impactful as these herd bulls are, we need to make mention of the powerful cowherd that backs them. The Sages, Jennas, Sammie’s, Satin’s, Flirts, Soda Pops, Annie’s, Kananaskis, Dreams and Sadie’s and the list goes on, are all represented in these pedigrees and are synonymous with cow power. Feet and udders have always been at the forefront of selection here with body shape and power with a great look to them. That is exactly what you can expect when you purchase a SVS bull and can be rest assured many of the bulls on offer stem back to many of these great donors. It’s always impressive to us as we tour through the Libke bull pen how the bulls are all so similar in type and kind. Homo Polled. SVS Red Rock 6M is moderate, thick, structurally correct and complete. He has been a standout his whole life. He is not going to overpower you, but he is almost impossible to pick a hole in. The Rancher x 506C combination is electric with full brothers to 6M selling last spring for $120,000, $90,000, $75,000 and $20,000. A full sister will be the top heifer that we will calve in 2025. I truly believe that 6M is a bull that could change a cowherd. If you are looking to improve foot quality, udder structure and overall phenotype, 6M is the bull that needs to be looked at. The daughters that he will leave will be his legacy.
Homo Polled. In the summer of 2023, Bohrson Marketing hosted a summer sale called “Family Matters”. We offered 2/3 interest in 19M’s mother, 932G. She sold to Bonchuk Farms and Canadian Donors for $70,000. 19M is her natural calf that is owned in partnership. Many will remember 932G’s impressive set of Tycoon sons that highlighted our 2023 sale to JP Cattle, McMillen Ranching, Jared Loewen and Packett Bros. 19M is their ¾ brother who is really complete and well balanced.
Homo Polled. 53M is a moderate, beefy Rancher son out of an excellent uddered Betts daughter. The Rancher mating on Betts daughters is one we will really like and will continue to do. The leadoff heifer in the World Simmental Sale this past August was a Rancher x Betts, she brought $80,000. We really like 53M and have his whole life, he is

Homo Polled. 22M is one of the most powerful bulls in the pen. He is really deep bodied, thick, hairy and structurally sound. His pedigree is as proven and predictable as we can make one. The Tycoon x 506C combination is one that simply works to produce high quality, productive cattle. A full sister to these ET brothers was the National Champion Female at Farmfair last fall for KT Ranches. She also made the top 10 at Agribition Beef Supreme. We have two full sisters in production and they are among our most impressive and productive cows. 22M is a power bull that will leave an awesome set of daughters.

Homo Polled. Here is a beefy, square hipped, big topped, sound son of Tycoon x 506C. He is impressive and is the type of bull we wish we had a whole pen of. He is genetically as good as it gets. I could write a book on this mating and the accomplishments of Tycoon and 506C. They have both raised the bar for quality and functionality not only in our program, but across the industry.
Homo Polled. The variability of recip mothers in an ET program can result in very different performance data among brothers. 52M is the result of a 10-year-old recip that didn’t give him the same chance that his brothers had. He is starting to catch up and will be a very impressive mature bull. He is genetically identical to 22M and 46M. 52M is likely to be one of the sleepers come sale day. Don’t overlook him because his brothers are more impressive, appreciate him for what he brings to the table genetically and what he will produce.

Homo Polled. These 3 Reddington x 506C sons are very similar and have us in constant discussion which one we like the best. Reddington was a $161,000 high seller from R-Plus and has been stamped a foot and udder improver by his owners. There is nothing that I can say about 506C that hasn’t been said before, she is a once in a lifetime cow that we are really proud to own. She is still really impressive at 10 years old and was on display at the World Sale this past summer. These 3 bulls offer a little different pedigree. They are stout, sound and hairy. We just cannot say enough about the 506C progeny, they are impressive and they work!

Homo Polled. The first son to sell off of the high selling, SVS Justified, who is one of the most popular bulls in the Canadian Sires lineup. 57M started off at just 83lbs and hasn’t looked back, being one of the top performing bulls at both weaning and yearling. Just like his sire, 57M carries his head high and has a tremendous herdbull presence. He is structurally correct, smooth made, well balanced and very complete. His mother was a top pick from the Maxwell herd and is a product of their embryo program. She is a moderate, beefy cow with a really nice, square, level udder. 57M was an early favorite of visitors last summer and fall, he has continued to impress and is worth the trip to check out for yourself!

Hetero Polled/Scurred. Here is a red blaze faced Justified son with a highly maternal pedigree. His mother is a tank of a cow that has been really productive. Her first son sold to Ryan Grindheim and her second calf, a ¾ sister to 72M by Rancher, will be one of the top heifers we will calve this year. 12H already has a black blaze full brother to 72M on the ground this year and he looks very promising. 72M is good haired, thick made and long bodied. He will produce a set of daughters that will make excellent cows and his steer calves should be the right kind.
Homo Polled. We didn’t have many Southside calves but are sure impressed by the ones we do have. 32M is a blaze faced, hairy bull with lots going for him. I think he would work really well on a group of young cows. He is moderate framed and adds an easy doing look to his progeny.

Homo Polled. 442M comes from a very good dark red female out of our Destiny cow family. The Destiny cow family have been responsible for some very good bulls over the last number of years. They are easy doing cows will good feet and udders that know how to bring in the good ones. The Warden sons came easy and have continued to grow and develop into a consistent top end set of bulls. He also has a lot of real good daughters in the replacement pen. Check out 442M sale day. He will work.
Homo Polled. 448M is a moderate framed well put together son of our walking herdsire Warden. He comes from an excellent Betts daughter that has been very productive. Her first year she had a son sell to Hardluck Farms. We just calved a daughter of her a few days ago and like her mother she is easy to like and has a great udder. 448M is her third calf and from the looks of things you will want to retain all his daughters.
Homo Polled. 66M is a stout made performance bull with a big hip and top. He will produce an excellent set of steer calves. His mother is a big bodied, nice uddered, power cow with a big square foot. The Warden sons are really consistent and full of quality. Check them out!

Homo Polled. 439M is the complete package. He started out at just 88 lbs. and has done nothing but impress since. He is a wide topped, big hipped bull with plenty of length and middle. He has an impressive set of EPD’s with good calving and birth numbers, top end performance and real good in maternal traits. The maternal is no surprise since he comes from one of our best red cow families. One that we rarely sell females from. They are all very dark red and can really produce. You should see 442M’s maternal sister that is due to calve here any day. She is a beautiful female that we would love to have more of. 442M is the real deal. Check him out sale day.

Homo Polled. You won’t go wrong with one of these Warden sons. They are bulls with plenty of stretch and performance while still maintaining a level of calving ease. 437M is out of a dark Red Mountain cow that produced a high selling Tycoon son a couple of years ago that was purchased by South Seven and H Bar M Land and Cattle. 437M is a loose made easy doing bull that will work.

The Bond sons have been really popular the last few years for their added calving ease with above average performance. 48M was born to a first-time momma at just 86lbs. He is really long bodied, smooth made and good footed. We have had good reports on the Bond sons and likely won’t have many more to offer in the future as he is now deceased.

Homo Polled. This end of February Slider son is going to turn some heads. Stout, soggy, dark and hairy, 112M is a calving ease bull that will give you some performance as well. His two-year-old Betts mother is a typical Betts daughter, the type you would like a whole herd full of. 112M ranks among the top performers at both weaning and yearling. Have a look at his EPD’s, he is in the top 10% of the breed for CE, WW and YW. A rare combination. He, like all the Slider progeny, are really easy doing. We have some Slider daughters in production and they are moderate, stout, easy fleshing cows. We really like this bull and think that he has a lot to offer in terms of calving ease and performance, true curve bender potential. Check him out!

Homo Polled. A mid-February bull that we really like. A unique pedigreed bull being a red blaze Slider son out of a Rancher x 410B female. 52K is a full sister to Justified. He has a really soggy, easy doing look to him as do all the Slider progeny. Slider is now deceased and we have almost no semen left on him so opportunities to acquire progeny will be limited. 107M does have the potential to be a calving ease bull just like his sire, but I do believe he can be much more than that as well. You will want to retain every daughter from this pedigree and if his sons look like him you will be headed in the right direction. Have a close look here at one very interesting herd bull.

Homo Polled. It has been very enjoyable to watch Rockstar 63M develop over the past year. From an early age he had a lot of shape and natural muscle. He was a stout calf that impressed very early. When you analyze his dam and her pedigree it is no surprise that 63M is a standout. 19K is a smaller framed, big ribbed cow with a picture-perfect udder. Rockstar 63M is sired by Vanderhoof, a walking herdsire of ours that was purchased to use on heifers. He is a very consistent calving ease sire that throws low birthweight and calves with vigor. We think that 63M could follow in his sire’s footsteps as a calving ease bull. He offers an outcross pedigree on the top side and on the bottom side he is backed by the Sage cow family which is as good as it gets. 63M is moderately framed, soggy, easy doing, sound and has a big solid foot under him. If you are in the market for a red calving ease bull, Rockstar comes highly recommended!

Homo Polled. 69M is a good, solid Betts son with a great hair coat. We are really proud of the job Betts has done in the industry. He is showing up on the bottom side of a lot of elite cattle as his daughters are making beautiful cows. They have excellent udders, are big ribbed and productive. Look to 69M to produce a strong set of daughters just like his sire. 940G has been a really good producer with 2 daughters selling in the Border City Sale.
Homo Polled. There is a lot to like about this February born Ambush son. He is dark red, awesome haired, deep, soggy and has an excellent dark hoof. His dam, 46J, is one of our top young cows. She is a full sister to the National Champion Female and Friday Night Lights high seller that is owned by KT Ranches. As well as the 3 feature Tycoon sons in the sale. 46J’s first calf was a feature last year selling to Kim Baker for $19,000. 95M is a strong pedigreed bull with a lot to offer.

Homo Polled. If you are looking for a red baldy that is early maturing strong topped, deep sided and good take a close look at 414M. He is a bull that we have always liked. His Milwaukee sired dam provides a level of quality that comes from being, once again a member of our Desire cow family. 414M is somewhat of an outcross pedigree who is out of two black parents and sired by Sterling who is a half brother to Loyalty. 414M is just the second bull 9D has had with the first being a feature Walk This Way son that sold to Andrew cattle co. Here’s one to check out closely sale day.
Homo Polled. A dark red, blaze faced Loyalty son who is backed by a really good young cow and a very productive cow family. The Eileen cow family is known for their black progeny, so it is pretty cool to have a red son to offer. 23M is a long bodied, big ribbed, good footed bull that will make an excellent herdsire.
Homo Polled. 79M is a February born Loyalty son out of a very productive cow family. The Loyalty sons were really popular last year and we have had great feedback on them so far. 936G is a maternal sister to the breed legend, Tycoon. She herself produced our high selling bull in 2022 to Hoegl Livestock at $70,000. She is an awesome uddered, strong footed cow that is dark red. 79M is deep bodied, good haired and will be a sound, functional herd bull for a long time.

Homo Polled. Once again, the Desire cow family has brought a top end red bull to the sale. Hayes is long, thick, deep and easy moving. Last year his blaze faced full brother was the top seller out of a very good pen of Loyalty’s. He was selected by Rafter 4T Simmentals. We bred Hayes dam back to Loyalty again to see if we could get a heifer calf to add to the Desire cow family, but you never complain when you get a real good bull calf either.
Homo Polled. If you are looking for a bull out of an awesome dam, then check out 424M. His 10-year-old dam has been a steady, consistent producer year after year. Her calves have been mostly heifers but the two bulls she has had will be no nonsense bulls built to last.
Homo Polled. 456M is just a February 27 calf. His sire Catalyst was purchased to use on heifers but due to unforeseen circumstances we only received 3 calves out of him. 456M is a stout made moderate bull that should work well as a heifer bull. His Bond dam produced the popular Maverick bull that sold last year to Bonchuk Farms. She is a daughter of our Twisted Star donor that has had quite a few top end bulls sell and probably is the one largest cow families we have.

Full Fleckvieh. Dilutor Free. 445M is a moderate framed, hairy bull that is one of the younger bulls in the pen. His Blueprint dam is a member of the well known Kananaskis cow family. She has produced very well on her first three with a son selling to D & D Farms and a daughter in our replacement pen. You can expect 445M to continue to grow and develop into an impressive herd sire. He will produce big, hipped steers and top end females. He has a pedigree that reads very well with Adonis, Blueprint and French Attack having been mated to some great cows.
Full Fleckvieh. Dillutor Free. 404M is a smooth made, calving ease prospect. He is sired by the well-known Blueprint that has worked so well on heifers and has sired many top end progeny over the years. Both bulls and heifers have been exceptional. 404’s dam is a first calving Outlook daughter with an exceptional udder. With Blueprint, Outlook and Raptor in his pedigree look for 404M to sire awesome females that you will want a whole herd of.

Homo Polled. Dilutor Free. 84M is an embryo calf from our newest Fleckvieh donor, Sadie 11J. She is a beautiful, dark red power cow with a gorgeous udder. This flush also produced 4 heifer calves that are very impressive and we have high hopes for them. 84M himself is really smooth made, good footed and should calve really well on a group of young cows. We believe in these genetics and think that 84M is worth a look.

Homo Polled. Hetero Black. Analyst is a bull we really like out of a smaller framed, good uddered Tycoon daughter that has a bright future here. His dam 23K has Tycoon, Captain Morgan and Everready in her pedigree. Three of the top bulls we have used. 447M is sired by the calving ease bull Slider who has produced calves that come easy with lots of vigor. 447M has a strong set of EPD’s across the board and was one of our best performers at weaning and yearling. Analyst comes in an easy moving well balanced package; a bull you don’t want to miss sale day.

Fusion 2M has the most performance in the sire group. He has an awesome hair coat, is sound made and thick. His Slider dam is a moderate, easy doing cow.

We are very happy with the Vanderhoof bull, not only for his ability to provide consistent calving ease, but also the high quality of his progeny. Have a look at this sire group, they offer a fresh pedigree, adequate performance and added calving ease.
Homo Polled. Homo Black. Another really good Vanderhoof son here. He is strong footed, thick and very complete. 26M is also double bred calving ease being out of a Slider mother. He should calve very well and give you a strong set of calves. Just a 77lb

Homo Polled. Hetero Black. SVS Bubba 81M is a really complete, well-balanced bull that is easy to like. His sire was our pick of the MRL bull sale and did a really nice job on his first calf crop. Unfortunately, we lost him last spring to a breeding injury. 81M’s dam, 521G, is a big bodied cow that has produced a son for Camden Cattle Co and a daughter in our herd. That 521G daughter produced our high selling black bull last year.
Homo Polled. Homo Black. 416M is a real stout moderate framed Sterling son that should provide a level of calving ease to work on second calvers and may well prove himself to be a heifer bull. His dam is an excellent Walk This Way daughter that is out of a Gold Key mother, so you have two generations of calving ease on the dam’s side as well. 416M should sire an easy doing set of calves that will be black and may have that valuable blaze face as well.

Homo Polled, Hetero Black. If you were to look back over the last number of bull sales, you would often find sons from our Desire cow family. They have always been top end performance bulls that are easy to like. 1E has had her share of top end bulls before but unfortunately this will be her last as we lost her in June of last year. 412M has continued to grow and develop into a super long stout bull with sound feet and an easy moving way. 412M is sired by Favor which adds an outcross pedigree to an already proven cow family. We tried to purchase Flirt 2423 at Friday Night Lights but came up short so when embryos came available, we jumped at the chance as she is an absolutely beautiful Tycoon daughter. Gibson 8M has a moderate 85lb birth weight and lots of performance. He is long bodied, big topped and thick made. He has a full sister in the replacement pen that we really like.
