Welcome to the u2 quality bull sale

Dear Friends,

We would like to welcome you to join us for our Annual Bull Sale on Tuesday March 18, 2025 at the Ranch. What a historic time to be in the cattle business with excitement and optimism reaching all time highs! We too are excited about the industry and the power-packed product we have put in front of you to evaluate for 2025! We are also especially grateful for the confidence and trust you have placed in our breeding program. The continued support that we have received by all our loyal customers/friends is both humbling and gratifying and allows us to continually raise the bar every year!

Our focus remains the same and our belief that a superior, continually evolving cowherd is the secret to providing you with bulls stacked with generations of beneficial genetics to improve your bottom line and set your cowherd apart. Generation after generation of balancing performance, consistency and maternal superiority produces genetics to enhance demand from all sectors of the industry.

These past five years we have enjoyed working with Darren and Carol Vancurren of Sunberry Valley Ranch. They have been a pleasure to work with and we appreciate their ongoing friendship. We had the opportunity in 2024 to purchase the majority of their impressive cowherd composed mainly of U2 genetics. We wish them the best with future endeavors and look forward to staying in touch and who knows, maybe even buying a cow or two together again!

This year’s offering is highlighted again by many full brothers from our aggressive embryo transfer program. The same sires and donor cows we rely on to advance the success of our program are represented here so you can put your faith and confidence in them to also advance the success of yours. We believe there is no substitute for using superior proven donor cows through ET to provide large sire groups giving our commercial customers of all budgets access to nearly every mating. This is especially evident in our Black Angus Division as you will notice it has risen dramatically in both quantity and quality! We have truly not seen as consistent a group as this!

As our long term customers have realized, our top priority has always been to build lasting relationships and make your experience be so much more than buying a bull! We enjoy pre-sale tours at the Ranch spending time with our established and future customers determining the cattle that best suit each operation. Following up with our customers generates the feedback we require for constant progress and also confirms our customers satisfaction. We know that you need to have success for us to have success.

Our bulls are being developed here at the ranch on a high roughage balanced TMR ration designed with their future as the highest priority. Like always, we will let the bulls speak for themselves and encourage everyone to come out to the ranch ahead of time and see them in their large pens and most importantly see the cows responsible for them!

If we can be of any assistance in any way, please don’t hesitate to call. We love talking cattle and take being your genetic supplier very seriously. Thank you for your interest.

welcome from t bar c Cattle Co. Ltd.

When a fresh perspective, modern mindset, and futuristic ideas are fused with determination, an aggressive approach, and a relentless pursuit of achieving high set goals, it is of very little surprise that the U2Q program have built and established the U2 Quality Bull Sale as one of the most popular destinations for astute cattlemen in North America to invest in phenotype and genotype advancing herd bulls. We at T Bar C are proud to stand alongside the Unger family as they continue to prove why they are one of the most instrumental forces in the cattle business, with the 2025 offering upping the game even more.

The selection of black bulls this year is significantly larger in numbers, yet the consistency and uniformity across the lots remain unchanged. The red bulls live up to the big reputation and expectation that come along with the program’s past achievements. Not only are these cattle naturally thick, threedimensional, sound structured, and good footed; they come at us in high volume. That volume along with a strategic breeding plan allows these outfits to back up the promise that there is a bull to fit every need and requirement of both purebred and commercial cattle herds alike. It has become almost redundant to praise the quality of the cowherd backing these bulls, as they have truly set the bar in maternal perfection. Just check out the support photos showcasing these beauties…I will leave it at that.

While the offering is fundamentally exceptional, the people and families that stand beside them are equally outstanding. Cole and Tia along with their family have a genuine understanding and respect for the fact that their success is only achievable if their customers are satisfied and experiencing their own prosperity. In a cattle market that is thriving, do not shy away from investing in bulls that are bred for profit and increasing bottom lines. It is how land acquisitions get made, feed bills get paid, and replacement pens are improved upon to continue the cycle.

We at T Bar C are looking forward to joining you at U2 Ranch Northeast of Coaldale on March 18th for what is truly one of the highest quality groupings of Red and Black Angus genetics to sell this Spring. The U2Q operation is not only a leader in the stock they raise, but in their progressive, customer serviceoriented attitudes. We have had the privilege of sorting through this offering and would encourage you to reach out with any questions or assistance needed!

See you in Coaldale, T Bar C Cattle Co. Ltd.

welcome from peterosa exports ltd.

Bigger and Better is the motto for the 2025 U2 Quality Bull Sale. Cole, Tia and sons have literally stepped up and out with the number of bulls on offer and the quality of the offering as well. Year after year it impresses me as to the quality of the U2Q bulls. The planned mating’s that Cole has on offer this year, gives everyone from the top Purebred breeder to the beginning commercial breeder an opportunity to advance their program in short order. You have the opportunity to purchase ½, ¾ and full brothers in numbers to enhance your breeding program.

The cows behind these bulls are second to none in the entire country. Functional, fertile, easy doing, super uddered and big bodied would best describe the U2Q cow herd. Combine that with the best herd sires sourced by Cole and family, and you get the quality of bulls they have on offer this year. Consistent quality doesn’t come by chance. It comes from years of commitment and planned genetic mating’s. It comes from the knowledge passed down through the generations here at U2. It comes from travelling thousands of miles to find that new herd sire that is the sire of the bulls on offer this year.

I would invite you to come prior to the sale to evaluate these bulls to see how they are raised and fed. The time and the trip will certainly be worth your while. Whether you need that new elite herd sire or a dozen or more bulls for your commercial herd, you will find lots to choose from.

If you have any questions or cannot attend sale day, please give me a call at 403 828 9815. It will be a pleasure to help you out on March 18. See you at the ranch north of Coaldale.

Sincerely,

Ltd.

U2Q BIG ENERGY 2126K

After realizing the results that Shameless accomplished in our Black Angus Program, we knew we had to infuse the genetics into our Reds! The Shameless x Roberta 147C mating was one obvious means to make this happen. Big Energy was selected by and owned with MRL. He is a genetic trendsetter with the outcross pedigree, phenotype, softness, foot quality and cow family strength to do a lot of positive things for the industry. We are very impressed with Big Energy’s ability to transcribe his type into his progeny. His sons and daughters are big bellied, loose hided, and easy moving with plenty of muscle shape and soundness. These are the type of cattle that will work in anyone’s program!

RED U2Q DOUBLE DOWN 4515M

LOT 1: DOUBLE DOWN captured our early admiration before a month of age and the anticipation and optimism have been growing ever since. He represents all the qualities of an ideal breeding bull with authentic Angus type and character. He is a larger outlined Herdbull with massive dimension, volume, and capacity with an astonishing soft, loose make-up. His blood red haircoat covers his ideal structure, showing off his astounding rib and muscle shape. He brings more natural thickness and substance of bone to the table and stands soundly on large square feet. When you look at his maternal tabulation it gets even better! He combines three of our most notable and productive red and black cows. Rosebud 157C, Roberta 147C and Misty 350C are cows that need no introduction and are the reason the excitement level is so high on DOUBLE DOWN! His dam 350C, simply does not miss with countless sons working for top purebred and commercial herds around North America including last years high seller. Over 20 daughters are in production here, you will want to come see them for yourself! You cannot put a better foot on a cow and she passes it on very consistently to all progeny. Our plan is to implement 4515’s genetics into our program through AI. Recommended for heifers or cows. YW 126

SHAMELESS 2151K

LOT 2: 4749 is an outcross calving ease bull that checks all the boxes for us. He has had some early attention in the bull pens since fall with his ideal Angus head, perfect balanced profile and structure, and shapely hind quarter. For us 4749 defines a lot of what we are trying to accomplish! What makes him extra interesting is his calving ease potential and maternally charged proven outcross pedigree! Queen 68H is a powerful donor cow and dam to the $62,000 Playboy 2197, our high selling bull in 2023. She has already raised us 10 high quality replacement females and 4 Herdbulls in her young career. We believe this is only the tip of the iceberg for Queen 68H! What an opportunity this is to add a rare and very marketable Red Shameless to your genetic arsenal. Your own outcross legacy starts here! Recommended for heifers or cows.

LOT 3: We suspect ENERGIZER 4809 will be one of the Elite calving ease bulls to sell March 18th. Like his brothers, he sports a loose hided, blood red haircoat with loads of charisma and presence! Although he is one of the younger bulls in the sale and is a split embryo calf, his quality is evident as is his performance. Needless to say, he stems from five generations of very appealing and productive Renee donor quality cows. His dam Renee 43H combines the famous Beauty 113Z and Renee 99A resulting in a massive bodied, perfect uddered, fancy fronted powerhouse that has given us high quality calves in her three years of production. His equally productive grandam has 19 registered progeny since 2015 and is now producing for Ezequial Gutierrez Martin in Mexico. The maternal supremacy keeps going generation after generation all the way to the U2 foundation donor Renee 7T! Calving ease with this kind of maternal intensity is a rare find! Recommended for heifers or cows.

LOT 4: Like all Anexa 17F progeny, 4672 has been very popular since summer pasture tours. Like his sire, he is a well-endowed, big time performance bull that puts forth more natural thickness, substance of bone, and massive middle than we thought possible! His extreme body length and super sound structure are all covered in a loose hided dark red haircoat. His dam is none other than Anexa 17F, who is of course the dam of Kennedy 2240 and a model Angus donor we think the world of! She is a strong topped, exceptional footed, massive bodied cow with ideal udder structure. We plan on making her a big part of our herds future. Recommended for cows. WW 107 YW 108

LOT 5: A cherry red power bull with added length, style and frame. Like his sire, Big Energy 4595 has that Herdbull character and ‘wow factor’. Built to travel and last with soaring maternal value. His dam, Stormy 480J is a direct 5042R daughter and following right in her mama’s footsteps. So many generations of proven mama cows here and a perfect example of why we still use Headstrong! His gorgeous black hided 3 year old Dominion X Pride dam adds another layer of outcross genes to this guys tabulation. Pride 519J is a direct daughter of the CAA premier dam

RED U2Q PLAYBOY 2197K

Playboy was our lead-off and high selling Knockin’ Boots son in ‘23 for $62,000 to Lucas Cutler. He is a super stout, correct, striking herd bull that is bestowed with Angus character and style. His soundness is solidified by his ideal big foot shape and ample heel depth, making him a definite foot improver. His dam, Queen 68H is a second-generation donor with a big correct foot and super udder suspension, teat size and placement. We have moved forward with Playboy in a big way and as you will see by the sire group, it has paid dividends.

LOT 7: A personal favourite that is very worthy of starting this impressive sire group! His striking look complemented by end-to-end depth and balance make him very easy to like and impossible to ignore! When you analyze his structure and fault free design you really come to appreciate the goodness he brings to the table. His amazing dam, Anexa 465J is an early favourite and one of the youngest females to ever enter our donor program. She already has two top replacements in our heifer pen. Lot 7’s iconic grandam is the accomplished and influential Anexa 439A, whose resume is long and impressive with 70 progeny in production in Canada alone. She has raised countless milking daughters and top end sons that include Blue Collar, Attractive 72H, Rendition, Territory, Convoy, Cabo, Don Julio, Rocky, President 2450K, Return, Patron and Red Letter to name a few! Take advantage and put these cutting edge proven maternal genetics to work for you! Recommended for welldeveloped heifers or cows. WW 111 YW 116

U2Q LOVERBOY 4700M

LOT 8: LOVERBOY has been an early favourite of this calf crop and represents a lot of what we look for in an ideal Angus bull. He exudes style and character while he struts fluidly throughout the pen. The amount of muscle through his top and the hip shape he possesses is truly outstanding, as is his overall depth and spring of rib. Its no surprise as the incomparable Lakota 687E has been a world class donor and more than worthy of the honor! She constantly raises sale favorites including the $23,000 Chancellor to HOV, $21,000 Lincoln to Y Coulee, $16,000 Cardinal 3462 to Jean-Francois Leblond and $24,000 Dayman to Bragg Creek. Her daughters are also amazingly always at the top of our replacement pen including 95H and 433J, who in their young careers have already graced us with many top replacements and bulls. These Lakota females are some of the most productive and potent females to ever walk our pasture. We believe LOVERBOY is a bull that has the goods to make a huge change in a short time as well as the genetics to carry a herd forward for years in the future! Recommended for cows. WW 109 YW 117

U2Q PLAYMATE

LOT 9: Do not miss out on PLAYMATE this spring! A sales season feature attraction by Playboy that we predict will have a very successful prosperous career! PLAYMATE 4571 looks to be on a trajectory to be right near the top on March 18. He’s phenotypically impressive, great headed, massive ribbed, big nutted, super stout and has lots of room to grow! His dam is a sweet made 2-year-old Township daughter with a bright future. Recommended for heifers and cows. YW 112

10: 4558 is an all-purpose, easy keeping, massive middled Herdbull with a stunning profile and extra gentle demeanour! We love the way he carries his muscle shape low into his quarter. His black outcross dam is a beautiful decendant of the Elite U2 Pride 111B donor female that has been a maternal machine here. We feel 4558 brings a lot to the table and is a valuable combination of phenotypic goodness and maternal strength. Recommended for heifers and cows. WW 105 YW 112

LOT 12: YOUNG GUN is a moderate framed genetic showpiece that is deep bodied, stylish and wide from all angles. This young, loose hided, calving ease minded Herdbull ran with the older boys and held his own in the contemporary. He always catches our eye with his overall presence, length of body and early crest development. His dam is none other than the super fertile and prolific Misty 350C, a world class donor with many high selling sons working around North America and over 20 young females enhancing our herd alone. YOUNG GUN is her natural calf as 350C was flushed for natural implants that April and midMay and has only missed first AI once in her life. Take a look at this =+ 10 CE specialist with performance and herd building maternal genetics! Recommended for heifers or cows.

U2Q PLAYBOY 4754M

LOT 13: Like his sire, 4754 is a benefit-the-breed type with his clean design, recognizable bull presence, expressive muscle pattern and awesome foot. Check out his maternal siblings, lots 29 & 30. His dam will be playing a huge role in the future of our Red Angus program. Lady 524J is a rare Maxim 168Z daughter that puts it all together phenotypically and productively. She is a young donor produced by the treasured Lady 123D donor working for M Diamond Angus in Wyoming. Use this Herdbull with confidence to enhance the maternal integrity of your cowherd. LOT 14: PLAYBOY 4576 has been a looker since the summer. His sharp front end, amazing balanced profile and fluency on the move make him very popular and should translate into tremendous female making ability! Kennedy was an obvious choice to carry on the 60H exclusive outcross genetics into the red gene pool. His individuality and donor cow family strength have given us the belief and confidence to make him a big part of our future. We are ecstatic with the results in both the bull and replacement heifer pens. As you can’t help but notice, Kennedy stamps these sons consistently with his attractive muscle pattern, dark red haircoat, structural and foot integrity, and highly sought after length of body. We hope you appreciate these fresh genetics as much as we do!

LOT 17-19: Lots 17 to 19 definitely represent sale feature genetics in a highly anticipated flush that has captured the attention of many! The maternally inspired mating of Kennedy to the one-and-only Anexa 294E has us appreciative and beyond confident in what is represented here! 294E has earned her way to becoming one of our most treasured and reliable Red Angus donors. She represents the fourth consecutive generation of Anexa donor females with a double shot of Anexa 333N on both sides of her pedigree! Her production ability and potency is on full display here and in our replacement pen with their 4 untouchable full sisters. These three brothers are patented with a powerful pattern and design. Their appeal broadens with superior structural integrity, wide width of pin set and an enviable dark cherry red haircoat. Finally, after taking everything into consideration, we feel a big part of the genetic puzzle has fallen into place and these three genetic gems are poised to take a leading role in the industry! Unique opportunity!

He is a maternal brother to the crowd favorite $45,000 Hard Knocks bull last year to Barenthsen-Bullinger Red Angus in North Dakota. We darn near lost Misty 75H last May-June, so this guy pretty much raised himself. He gets better every day and by sale time we predict his potential will be on full display! Like his maternal brother last year, we are confident in TEEN SPIRIT’s ability to make a lasting contribution to the industry. Anchored by 4113, these angular showpieces are excellent skulled, wide topped, big hipped and stand with character on correct, sound feet and legs. The full sister flush mate is right at the top of our replacement pen. Lakota 408J is a one-of-a-kind donor with a huge future. Her overall fleshing ability, mass and physical presence is second to none in a larger framed mama cow. The grandam U2 Lakota 274G is arguably the best heifer to ever leave U2 and is the cornerstone of this project. Unlimited herd building potential in these genetics!

BETTER MAN exemplifies it all and adds character and authenticity with an ideal Angus skull. This deep flanked phenom has caught the eye of early visitors and many believe he may even have the tools to outbreed his ultra successful sire. We have admired Rainfalls ability to bring calving ease, maternal strength and performance together in a big bodied, very shapely, structurally sound design. We have seen his impact on our Black herd and felt he could be very beneficial to our Red program, and the breed in general. Within this sire group are some of the most anticipated and impressive Red Carrier Herdbulls we have raised.

LOTS 169-173: Herd builders with the outcross pedigree, body mass, soundness, breed character and cow family strength to make a huge impact on the breed. Rainfall was chosen for his industry proven and highly respected combination of calving ease, performance, phenotype and cow making abilities. The Roberta cow family are no strangers to the spotlight as Roberta 41F represents three consecutive generations of donors most famously anchored by Roberta 147C, as well as the immortal Roberta 96W who is still producing and breeding first cycle at 16 years of age! The fertility and productibility of the Roberta’s is remarkable and highlighted well by Roberta 41F. Her last natural bull calf, Fancy Like 511J, sold to Peacock Red Angus in Texas for $31,000 and her flush record is exceptional. Unfortunately, a heartbreaking human error accident ended her career last year so her influence has been cut short way too early. On the bright side, the full sisters in our replacement pen are tremendous, showing their quality and promise very early in life. These proud fronted, long and deep bodied, easy moving, outcross Herd bulls are the real deal and your last chance to acquire what we have envisioned as the next piece to our Red Angus puzzle.

ELLINGSON UNCHARTERED

Unchartered 2028 was our purchase and the high selling Badlands son of the 2023 Ellingson sale. A phenotypical standout, 2028 was selected for his obvious look and freedom of movement, exceptional haircoat, foot quality, complete balanced trait package based on the strength of his dam EA Madame Pride 8083 and paternal grandam EA Bells Girl 7617 - two of the most notable donors in the Ellingson program. We are beyond excited to offer the first sons of this game changer as they exemplify their sire’s base width, foot quality, volume, hair and possess breed character that is beyond compare.

LOTS 174 & 175: Two-of-a-kind TRUE flush brothers with multi-trait excellence and proven maternal cow power behind them to get the job done. They are proud-fronted with added frame, easy moving with soundness, carry the calving ease credentials AND are a outcross pedigree to boot! The hair on these fellas and all their paternal brothers is exceptional. Their never-miss donor dam 95H has never missed, raising multiple great high selling sale feature Herdsires for Lucas Cutler, Steve Lapp and Speargrass. Their grandam is the iconic Lakota 687E. Recommended for heifers or cows.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT IN OUR PROGRAM. YOU GIVE US THE OPPORTUNITY AND CONFIDENCE TO CONTINUE TO DO WHAT WE LOVE.

LOT 186: VITAL is a phenotypic and genotypic phenom with major-league Herdbull credentials. This robust outcross displays great stoutness, muscle shape and structural soundness in a calving ease package. 4639 presents authentic Angus breed character and a herd-changing type, backed by maternal excellence that solidifies his immense breeding potential. Two tour favorite donors in both the top and bottom side of the pedigree, use VITAL with the utmost confidence! A milestone breeding achievement and personal favourite we look to use heavily in the U2Q program. Recommended for heifers or cows.

LOT 188: 4519 is a favorite on paper with a power-packed pedigree that is sure to move your program in the right direction. His dam, Lassie 144H is a model Angus cow that raises the good ones always. Extremely sound footed and uddered with a strong maternal backing many generations back help further our confidence in BIG SHOT. Recommended for cows. WW 108 YW 119

LOT 194: 4540 is a calving ease phenom with mind boggling performance. Outlier bulls that start out at a mere 73lbs and end up over 1500 at a year are hard to find and always make you money. He ratioed 105 at weaning and a whopping 140 on feed. Lot 194 is a larger outlined bull with end-to-end depth in a loose hided, big haired package. We admire how he holds himself together for such a long-sided bull. His dam, Firefly 555H is a big hipped, well put together attractive and productive cow that keeps birth weight down, 70lbs over 3 calves, while excelling at both weaning performance (103) and yearling performance (119). Recommended for heifers or cows.

LOT 195: A super attractive, long spined cow bull that showed tremendous early growth and size. He hammered the scale down at weaning time and has not missed a beat since. A huge achievement here as the Renee progeny usually specialize in long lasting, maternal stayablility. He stems from five generations of very appealing and productive Renee donor quality cows. His dam Renee 43H combines the famous Beauty 113Z and Renee 99A resulting in a massive bodied, perfect uddered, fancy fronted powerhouse that has given us high quality calves in her three years of production.
