After a year a volunteering in the ranks, he accepted the responsibilities of Halifax Pride 2002 co-chair and later occupied the function of volunteer coordinator for Montreal’s Black and Blue festival from 2001-2005. Although always attracted to leathermen, Bob’s involvement in the leather community started when he met his current partner Denis. He is a founding member of the leather club Legende Urbaine de Montréal and holds the titles of Provincetown’s First Mate 2007, M. Cuir Montreal 2008 and was First Runner Up at IML 2008. The confidence he gained as title holder has motivated him in obtaining his Masters and to progress in his career Canadian Armed Forces Officer. To date, he still remains available to assist his extended leather and rubber family.

ISRAEL WRIGHT

Israel is proud to be a part of a group of individuals selected to guide and mentor eager men to go out and fully represent a whole new world to many people. Born in Coshocton, Ohio, moved to Chicago, IL in the Seventies, he has had the opportunity to watch the kink world expand to what it is today. Observing a life underground to mainstream acceptance of kink into most aspects of sexual inclusion. (Continued on following pages)

Wright has always been a part of the leather/ kink scene from childhood on the farmland in Ohio to the streets of Chicago when things started to explode. Wright has served on a number of Gay and Lesbian organizations both local and international including on the Board of Directors for the Federation of Gay Games. He began photographing the kink scene in the eighties and continues to do the same now. His photography is recognized all over the world in various publications and exhibits. While much of his work centers on documenting through photojournalism the contributions and achievements of the LGBT community.

RICHARD “TROOPER’ LONG

Trooper Long is an instigator and all-around troublemaker & kinkster: After organizing one of Michigan’s earliest pup-themed bar nights in 2011, Trooper created the state’s 1st major pup event -- Dog Days of Summer, now held annually in August in Detroit since 2015. In 2017 he produced and co-hosted Michigan’s first successful rubber bar night at RnR (Detroit). When he’s not drooling over kinky boots on his bootblack stand, you’ll find him doing bad things to bad boys at Detroit Bondage Club and Chicago Hellfire Club events. Trooper has served on judging panels of many state, regional & international contests, including IML, Great Lakes Leather Sir/boy, and Drummer North America. He has attended every MIR since 2006 -- since 2007 with partner Andrew (a.k.a. puppies’ Chew Toy). 2017 marked his 1st time at GearBlast:US. His charitable giving is often creative: As a fundraiser for LGBT youth in summer 2010 he ran 10 miles from the LGBT Center to the Detroit Eagle. A.K.A. Mama’s Trooper, his earned titles include Great Lakes Boot Black 2008, and 2009.

RUBBER CHRIS

RubberChris, was born in France and now resides in California where he has been a visual artist, painter, and an art and cinema educator for over 20 years. In extra-curricular activities, he has been a member of the global rubber community for almost 15 years. He was

initially intrigued by rubber after seeing Tim Burton’s “Batman Returns” but that intrigue went unexplored until a fateful night at the Eagle in Los Angeles. On that evening he met two of the men who would become his mentors, Loren Berthelsen and Alex Lindsay, founders of West Coast Rubber. That night, on their advice, he signed up for his first ever gay social and fetish site. The rest is rubber history. As Alex and Loren would later say “We created a monster!” Over the years RubberChris has shared his love for “caoutchouc” by attending various fetish events, like Folsom Street Fair, Up Your (aka: Dore) Alley, International Mister Leather and Mr. International Rubber. Additionally, he has worked as a salesman for Recon and TLS Rubber Gear at various events. Giving back to his community is important to RubberChris as well. In 2013 he produced his first rubber event launching the RubberMen of Los Angeles. This launch was held at the Tom of Finland Foundation, on the invitation of his friend and the Foundation’s President and Cofounder, Durk Dehner. Assisting RubberChris in the launch and leadership of this fledgling club was his dear friend and MIR2009 Stephane Donaldson, as well as many LA based rubber aficionados, and fetish event producers. Working with Stephane in his creative role at the fetish store Priape, RubberChris suggested and helped bring to fruition a new design of smoked/transparent latex with drips of color inspired by the work of famed 20th century American painter Jackson Pollock. Additionally, RubberChris has participated in two AIDS/ Lifecycles charity rides held annually over 7 days and covering 545 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise money for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center.

TYGER YOSHI

Tyger Yoshi started his kink journey in Southern CA, where he was first attracted to the community for the bondage and leather scenes. He was fortunate to have been mentored by several members of the community in Los Angeles, and passed on what he learned to others. While attending school in Santa Barbara, he started a university sponsored group called KUFF, where they promoted education for kink, fetish, and BDSM topics. He then moved to San Francisco where he continued his community involvement and outreach.

boiMAG 21

(Continued from the previous page) Currently, he resides in Colorado where he is a member of the Rocky Mountain Leather Alliance. One of his goals is to help bring local groups and individuals closer together through outreach, social, and educational events. He also provides demos and performances to help instigate interest in those who are new and still exploring their kinkier interests.

PRESTON ‘WEXX’ SO

Preston “wexx” So is Mr. International Rubber 20 (2017) and Mr. New England Rubber 2016. The first international fetish titleholder of Asian descent, he is honored to bring the MIR title back to New England and the New England Rubber Men. Previously, Preston was the resident materials expert at Harvard College Munch, the BDSM student organization at his alma mater, where he educated other members about leather, rubber, spandex, and similar fetishes at a time when the group was vilified by Bill O’Reilly on Fox News as a university-funded “sex club.” Proud to practice his passion by wearing latex out regularly, Preston enjoys mentoring new rubberists regardless of their gender or sexuality, especially through latex fetishism workshops at DV8/Purple Passion and Cleveland Leather Annual Weekend (CLAW). As an international titleholder, he has appeared on Vice.com, Watts the Safeword, and NoSafeWord to promote and foster latex fetishism. Preston’s mission as Mr. International Rubber 20 is to rubberize the world — to bring the latex fetish to places further afield and especially to unawakened rubberists.

MR. INTERNATIONAL RUBBER 21 TALLY MASTERS GERALD “DADDY G” CERNAK

Gerald “Daddy G” Cernak, Mr. Chicago Leather 2017 is a proud Chicago native who’s been actively involved in the local leather and kink community for the past 10 years. He’s a full member and current Illinois representative of the Titans of the Midwest and prior executive board member, a member of the Chicago Band of Brothers, Associate member of Blue Max St. Louis Leather Club and the LA&M. Daddy G was proud to have represented Chicago’s Leather and Kink Community as MCL 2017 at IML39. He believes volunteering is a form of activism. He lives in Chicago’s Rogers park neighborhood with his partner of 3 years, Jeffrey, an active member in the rubber and latex community and a prior Mr. International Rubber. Their relationship proves that leather and rubber do go great together.

SKY COTTN

Daddy Sky Cotton represents The Illinois Leather Alliance as Ms. Leather Pride 2017. She’s a Chicago based Leather Dyke, whose personal lust for Kink, Fetish, and Leather Lifestyle spans more than 27 years. In 2005, dissatisfied with extremely limited play and BDSM Arts education options geared specifically towards Women, and Transfolk, Sky created Vespertine Chicago. She has dedicated herself to a core mission of fostering kink and fetish in everyone she meets that shows a genuine interest in learning Erotic Arts; and of stewarding the next generation of healthy, Sex Positive People, and Queer Women, by creating a safe space in which they may play, learn and grow. A portion of each event’s proceeds are donated to charity. Over the last 7 years, Daddy Sky has also worked with Her Family, SS-Triple-X, to broaden awareness and interest in kink and fetish through art, and by bringing cutting edge Fantasy Fetish Performances to curious audiences all over Chicago and the Midwest. In 2010 SIN at Roscoe’s was created as an artistic conduit for The Family to present Kink, Fetish, BDSM education, and Body Positive Queer Burlesque in a creative and immediately engaging way.

(Continued from the previous page) Her professional life found her serving members of The Community for ten years by helping them navigate their path in Leather and Kink while working at Mephisto Leathers, and Leather 64Ten. Currently Daddy Sky works in Personal Pleasure and Sex Education at Tulip Toy Gallery. Daddy Sky is a Supporting Member of the Leather Archives and Museum, and also volunteers at International Mr. Leather Weekend. Her interest in Performing Arts and Music have placed her in volunteer leadership roles for EstroJam Women’s Music Festival, The Chicago Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, and Gay Games VII, held in Chicago, Illinois.

MR. INTERNATIONAL RUBBER 21 MASTERS OF CEREMONIES KYLON HOOKS

TERI YAKI

Teri Yaki has been a staple of the Boystown scene for over 10 years now. Her crazy character has hosted a variety of different fun-filled events ranging from lube wrestling to co-hosting The Night of 100 Drag Queens! To see her sitting in a garbage can outside of the club she has worked at for the night happily announcing “Thanks for coming to my party!” would be no surprise to anyone. Her rip-roaring antics, outrageous outfits, and her tendency to make anyone around her laugh have helped her worm her way into the hearts of the Chicago GLBT community and anyone who will give her the time of day. These days you can catch her hosting “Team Trivia” at various community bars during the week. You’ll have a “gay ol’ time” each and every time you hang out with this amazing talent. She is pleased to return to emcee Mr. International Rubber once again this year.

Kylon Hooks is a native of Northeastern Ohio. While he suspected he might be a kinkster at a very young age, those thoughts were confirmed when he stumbled into his first leather bar at age 18 and never looked back. It was also at the age of 18 that Kylon discovered his talent and passion for youth activism and advocacy within the T/GNC and LGB youth communities. In 1999, Kylon earned the title of Mr. Gay Midwest U.S. of A. Also in ‘99, after attending his first IML, Kylon moved to Chicago to take up permanent residence. In Chicago he delved deeper into the fetish, kink, and leather lifestyles. This led him to the sex and body-positive, impact and food play-loving, leatherman and kinkster he is today. Kylon is a founding father of Leather Men Of Recovery (LORE) the Midwest’s kinky club for Leathermen actively involved in 12-step recovery. He believes in creating safe spaces for ALL, whether it’s a public flogging session, hosting a Sunday Tea, Brüt dance party, or one of the famed D.I.L.F. nights, you can find him causing mischief and dancing up a storm in a local Chicago venue. Daddy to many, Sir to few, and a boy...on *rare* occasion, Kylon is excited to Co-emcee this year’s MIR.
