This compelling analysis of the causes of the 2008 economic crisis by social scientist Charles Ferguson (director of No End in Sight, Academy Award nominee for Best Documentary feature), uses fascinating interviews with key players to illuminate the issues. The documentary is narrated by Matt Damon.
Based on the graphic novel by Posy Simmonds (who loosely followed the story of Thomas Hardy’s Far From the Madding Crowd), this engaging comedy was directed by Stephen Frears and stars Gemma Arterton, Dominic Cooper, Roger Allam and luke Evans. When stunning Tamara returns to her childhood home after achieving success as a journalist, she turns heads and stirs up trouble in the village where she was once known as an ugly duckling.
Naomi Watts stars as Valerie Plame, the CIA agent who was exposed by a member of the Bush administration in retaliation against her husband, Joe Wilson, who wrote a 2003 op-ed piece in the New York Times discrediting officials regarding Iraq’s alleged weapons of mass destruction. Based on her book, Fair Game, and Wilson’s book, The Politics of Truth, the film also stars Sean Penn and Sam Shepard and was directed by Doug Liman (The Bourne identity).
“By the end Mr. Ferguson has summoned the scourging moral force of a pulpit-shaking sermon. That he delivers it with rigor, restraint and good humor makes his case all the more devastating.”
“A real old-fashioned crowd-pleaser.” lou lumeNiCk, NY PoST

In Swedish with English subtitles. “Rapace, once more, is able to reveal new layers in Lisbeth’s personality.” JoSE SolIS, Movies KicK Ass
Opens November 26 In 1936 Edward VIII abdicated the throne of England and his shy and stammering brother Albert (Colin Firth) became king instead. Determined to overcome his impediment, “Bertie” (George VI) secretly hired a speech therapist (Geoffrey Rush). Helena Bonham Carter is delightful as Bertie’s wife, Elizabeth. Capturing a pivotal time in history, director Tom Hooper (The Queen) gets all the details right. “With first rate performances from an A-list cast, the handsome period piece The King’s Speech is one of the most accessibly entertaining films of its kind in years.” PETE HAMMonD, Box oFFice MAGAziNe
