Photo Story:
The Heartland Beat
Ray Pierce, better known as Steddy P, is a hip hop artist and University of Missouri graduate from Kansas City, MO. In 2004, Steddy started his own record label, Indyground Entertainment. The label aims to expose hip hop using values that do not identify with the hyper-masculine, materialistic hip hop of the mainstream media. IndyGround Entertainment has grown to include artists throughout Missouri, with others as far as Illinois, Louisiana, and California.
