Landscape Oil Painting Workshop with Douglas David 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Olmsted House $225/person Master artist Douglas David will cover the basic principles of oil painting with regard to landscape painting. Painting out-of-doors, en plein air will be a major focus of the study after the basics are covered. Discussions and lectures on composition, massing, building form, light and shadow, developing atmospheric distance and depending on your own style, knowing when a work is finished. The instructor offers a "basic art supply kit" (while supplies last) which includes all the basic oils, brushes, palette knife, palette, canvas panels and medium. The kit is $150 and needs to be reserved when making class registration.

Watercolor Workshop inspired by the Gardens with Cathy Futral

Fermentation Festival
Outdoor Kitchen $10/session; $25/all three
Probiotic tea: 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Spend the morning with brewers from Mother Kombucha learning about the benefits of Kombucha, a living, probiotic tea that has long been associated with wellness and vitality. You will also get to sample various flavors of this sparkling, refreshing beverage that is a little sweet and a little tart, often compared to apple cider. Chevre: 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. Maria and Tony Iannucci with AM Acres of Lake Wales will be demonstrating how to make Chevre, a soft goat milk cheese that is made with cultures and takes about 3 days to produce. Participants will be able to see the cheese in different stages and sample a variety of spiced Chevre. Beer: 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Explore the science behind how your beer is made with University of Central Florida Adjunct Professor Edmund Measom. Ed will talk about the beer making process, the ingredients that determine the various colors, aromas, and flavors of beer and the difference between ales, lagers, and ciders. Samples will be available.

Like the stars, our flowers will begin to twinkle as the moon rises, little creatures start their evening serenade and lit pathways will show you the way to the Singing Tower for a live special twilight carillon concert. Before the concert begins at 7:30 p.m., the Blue Palmetto Café will feature fresh cuisine and live music on the terrace.

ART EXHIBITION: Polar Bears on Vacation by Barbara Stone
Visitor Center
Barbara Stone has exclusively used the image of polar bears as a personal symbol in her artwork since 1979. Her research has taken her to Canada's Northwest Territories, the Yukon and Alaska to study the yearly migration of polar bears. A self-taught artist, Barbara has developed a unique style of incorporating colored pencil with watercolor in her paintings. She has explored many media with the polar bear image, including fabric design for Japanese kimonos, porcelain sculpture, water color paintings, wooden furniture forms, pen and ink and pencil drawings, and serigraph and lithograph prints.

Easter morning worshipers will be offered complimentary admission to experience the Gardens' own sunrise service with a full choir, brass ensemble, live carillon performances, and an inspirational Easter message delivered by local clergy. A buffet breakfast will be served in the Blue Palmetto Café following the service, for an additional fee.

The sounds of the carillon will fill the air as runners traverse the trail-like course with challenging terrain of hills and mulch. Runners will conquer Iron Mountain during this 3.2‑mile run. APR
