Most snow helmets offer limited ventilation due to the difficulties encountered during the certification tests. The RYFT, on the other hand, has been designed to allow a huge air intake from vertical space around the vent opening, while the panels obstruct anything from penetrating into the headform. This revolutionary system makes it the only certified snow helmet with such a large amount of air channeling.

FLOW TECH BRIM VENTING

Flow Tech Venting in the brim connects the goggles to the internal channel on the headform side which connects to the ventilation on the exterior of the EPS but under the shell. The RYFT is composed of multiple paths all interconnected for increasing airflow.

REAR VENTS

As the RYFT provides such a significant air intake, it needs efficient air extraction. The rear shark vents allow for a huge space underneath the vent panel and effectively flush air and heat out from the helmet.

AVID PROGRESSIVE EPS

To make sure our helmets are as ventilated as they can be, our Research and Development team analyzed in details where EPS could be removed without diminishing the level of protection. Every part of a helmet doesn’t need the same quantity of EPS to provide perfect protection. Our Research and Development team carefully analyzed which areas could be carved out to reduce the unnecessary amount of EPS without reducing the level of security. This process allowed for bigger inner-space for the air to circulate and increase the passive ventilation properties as well as the weight of the helmets equipped with our AVID technology.

Software using the most advanced calculations is used to create customized lenses and the ultimate in lightweight products. Every prescription is reassessed to compensate for optical distortions related to the frame wrap angle. When the prescription reaches the limits of the conventional digital surfacing method, our patented algorithm calculates the best lens geometry regarding the optical area, the transition zone and reduces the edge thickness (US patent number 8,002,404). Every product is customized to the prescription, frame and wearer’s facial metrics, ensuring optimum precision, comfort and frame balance for sports sunglasses.
