Bolton’s Fund - Reconnecting people of Bolton as Covid-19 restrictions lifted
Bolton’s Fund is an investment programme for the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector in Bolton. It was set up to test new and innovative ways of investing in and valuing our communities. The Fund brings together funding from Bolton Council, NHS Bolton Clinical Commissioning Group, Bolton at Home, Bolton CVS, the GP Federation and Local Business.
With the last 18 months being challenging for many people in Bolton, throughout the months of July and August Bolton’s Fund will be focussing on projects that support health and emotional wellbeing and help reconnect individuals and communities. Don’t miss this round’s opportunity to apply for grants of up to £1500 and £5000.
For more information about the types of projects this funding is looking to support and
how to apply, take a look at our webpage here.
Thinking about Volunteering?
Here are a few nuggets of advice that we would give to anyone starting out!
Consider the causes or issues that are important to you. Volunteering for something you feel strongly about will create an even stronger sense of achievement and give you lots of drive. We also offer workshops that will help you to get ready for volunteering – offering you training and support. Take a look at our training programmes here and book yourself on a session that suits you.
If you can’t find an organisation or a cause that you’re passionate about, why not start a project yourself? We offer advice and support on starting up new groups and organisations and there is lots of funding available for those who see a need and want to start up something new. Take a look at our funding opportunities here.
If you’re not sure where to start, find a group and community activities by taking a look at our map on our webpage or contact us and we will put you in touch with one of our team at Bolton CVS who can help. They will be able to match your interests and talents to the many voluntary groups and organisations in and around Bolton who could benefit from your help, and where you could thrive!
Don’t underestimate what you could bring to an organisation. Your skills will go further than you expect. Perhaps you’ll even begin to discover hidden talents, or the type of things you enjoy doing!
If you find the thought of volunteering on your own a little bit daunting, why not buddy up and see if a friend wants to join you? It could be a great new social activity to do together and we can say from experience that great friendships are formed when setting out to help others!
Give it a go – what have you got to lose?
