A note from the Head… Remembrance Assembly

On Monday this week, our Year 6 pupils presented a poignant and moving Remembrance Assembly, attended by the rest of Hesketh House and many of the Year 6 parents and grandparents

They spoke about the conditions facing the soldiers in World War I, the history of Armistice Day and explained why the poppy has become such a wellknown symbol of remembrance.

The reading, songs and poems were a fitting tribute to those who sacrificed themselves for our future. A special thank you to our Year 6 girls who spoke so eloquently and to Charlotte Morris who played The Last Post and Reveille as part of our Remembrance Day ceremony to mark our two-minute silence.

Mrs Helen Holt

On Tuesday 12 November, we all wore odd socks to highlight what makes us all unique and to emphasise anti-bullying week. We watched ‘Andy and the Odd Socks’ perform their annual song all about respect – this year’s theme. Emily and Ridhi from our Trilby TV club created a video which has been displayed on our TV screen this week.

Dropping

Off Items at

School

Just a reminder that if your daughter forgets any books, homework, sport, PE or swimming kit, etc., please do not make the journey to school to drop it off for her. Having to explain to her teachers will help her to problem solve for herself and, we hope, not make the same mistake again! We shall always lend equipment to her to enable her to participate in her lessons. Please encourage your daughter to think about what she has on the next day and what equipmentthatmeansshewill need, sothat shecan plan and pack accordingly.
