HESKETH HOUSE NEWSLETTER

18 SEPTEMBER 2024

A note from the Head…

Thank you to everyone who came to our Parent Information Evening last week. It was lovely to see so many of you. It was an information packed evening and I’m sure you enjoyed meeting your daughter’s new class teacher.

This week I have had the pleasure of meeting 3H for lunch to catch up on how they are settling in. They certainly had lots of questions to ask me! I look forward to meeting 3C for lunch next week. Mrs Naylor also invited our new pupils in Years 4, 5 and 6 for a picnic lunch.

All the girls have been full of smiles and chatter about their first impressions of Hesketh House.

At the Parent Information Evening last week, Mrs Faulkner shared information about the Wellbeing Hub. The Parents’ Associations have invested in The Wellbeing Hub, a resource developed by experts in child and adolescent mental health and wellbeing, and, as a result, we are pleased to offer free access to this invaluable resource to all parents/guardians and carers. Our agreement with The Wellbeing Hub also supports our entire school community, providing staff with a 10-part course designed to further assist your child within the school environment. Access The Wellbeing Hub by clicking this registration link –https://club.teentips.co.uk/register/parents/?ca= 8f29a7f7e39766783688f12f9ad47ac1 During registration, you'll be prompted to set a password and will receive a welcome email with full details. Friends of Bolton School

The Friends of Bolton School Summer Festival that took place last June raised nearly £3,500. This is being split equally between the charity “Great Minds Bright Futures” (a charity supported by Bolton School creating a loving, safe space with activities and opportunities for vulnerable Malawian children to learn, play, thrive and be the best versions of themselves), the Bursary Fund and projects in school that support the whole Foundation. Huge thanks to School and the Estates team for their assistance, all of the many volunteers who helped to plan and run the event, and to all those families who bought tickets and enjoyed a great day in school.

Parents’ Association

We are very grateful to our Parents’ Association who have funded a trip to the Octagon Theatre for all of the Hesketh House girls in December.

We would love to have more parent helpers with PA activities. Please text Lucy Onuoha 07734 865817 to register your interest in helping at any of this term’s events. We usually have a Breakfast Club, a Second-Hand Uniform Sale, a Christmas Disco and a Christmas Hamper Raffle.

Lunch Menu

The lunch menu for next week can be found here.

FOBS Coffee Morning

– Friday 20 September

On Friday morning you are warmly invited to attend the Friends of Bolton School (FOBS) Coffee Morning. This is being held in the Leverhulme Suite which is located in the Riley Centre, from 8:30am to 10.00am. The intention is to provide parents, especially those new to school, to meet one another and to meet other parents from the Friends of Bolton School who can answer questions about school life. Mr Britton will speak at around 9.00am for approximately ten minutes. Please don’t feel that you need to stay for the whole session and do feel free to just drop in.

Harvest Festival – Thursday 10 October

Our Harvest Festival Assembly will be held on Thursday 10 October and parents of our new pupils in Y3-6 will be welcome to join us on this occasion. We will be asking for donations for Urban Outreach’s Winter Watch programme, information attached here

Breaktime Snacks

A reminder that pupils are to bring water and fruit or vegetables for breaktime snacks.

Birthday Treats

Some pupils like to bring in treats for their birthday to share with their class. Anything sent into School should be pre-packaged and clearly labelled with ingredients and allergens. These can then be distributed at the end of the day to be eaten at home, with parents’ permission.

Arrival at School

Our day starts at 8.40am and it is important that your daughter arrives on time so that she can make a good start to her day.

If your daughter arrives late, then you will need to access Hesketh House via the Riley Centre, as the external gates will be closed.

Communication with School

If you need to contact School, the Hesketh House Office telephone number is 01204 434761 oryou can email juniorgirls@boltonschool.org. Please make sure that you include your child’s name and form in any email communication, as this enables us to deal with queries more efficiently.
