HESKETH HOUSE NEWSLETTER 11 NOVEMBER 2022

A note from the Head…

Severe Weather Arrangements

I hope that you all had a restful half term break and enjoyed some relaxing family time together. The girls seem to have returned to school refreshed and full of energy, ready for the busy weeks ahead!

The Severe Weather Arrangements were emailed to parents recently, a copy can be found here. The key points are that information will be posted on the front page of the school website (www.boltonschool.org), usually by 7.00am, and we would be grateful if parents would use the website as the first port of call.

This morning our Year 6 pupils presented a thought-provoking and moving Remembrance Assembly, attended by the rest of Hesketh House and some of the Year 6 parents.

You will also be sent an email, and news often first appears on School Twitter Accounts such as @Philip_Britton, @sfboltonschool, @BSPDJnrGirls. Parents’ Association Meeting Tuesday 8 November, 6.00pm Hesketh House A small group of Hesketh House parents met this week to discuss upcoming events. These are a Christmas Disco on Sunday 4 December 3.00pm – 5.00pm and a Christmas Hamper Raffle, which will be drawn in the last week of term. Information about purchasing tickets for both of these will be sent out in due course.

They spoke about the conditions facing the soldiers in World War I, this history of Armistice Day and explained why the poppy has become such a wellknown symbol of remembrance. The reading, songs and poems were a fitting tribute to those who sacrificed themselves for our future. Well done to all involved.

We do need donations for our Christmas hampers and are asking for these to be sent in to school from next week, and by Friday 2 December at the latest. We hope to make a variety of different hampers – luxury food hampers, pamper hampers, children’s hampers, chocolate hampers etc. Popular ideas include seasonal sweets, biscuits and chocolates, Christmas puddings and cakes, wine and luxury toiletries. Donations can be handed in at the Hesketh House Office. If anyone has a basket we would be most grateful for that too! If you are willing to help with PA activities, please contact Carolyn Byrom thecjport@hotmail.com. Twitter
