HESKETH HOUSE NEWSLETTER

14 JUNE 2024

A note from the Head…

Firstly, apologies that we have had to cancel Sports Day today due to the poor weather. It will now take place next Friday 21 June at 1.15pm, weather permitting, and of course parents are still welcome to join us! Please remember that entry is on foot, via the Sports Field Entrance off Tudor Avenue.

Please could I remind you to buy your tickets for the Summer Festival, on Sunday 23 June. There are lots of exciting stalls and activities and also some super competitions for the girls to take part in – cookery, handicraft and photography – all information is included later in the Newsletter.

You will already be aware that I am retiring at the end of this academic year, and Mrs Holt will be taking on the role of Head of Hesketh House from September. As previously mentioned, we have appointed a new Deputy Head Mrs Parrish, who will be joining the management team. In other staffing news, Miss Gregson has been offered a Senior Teacher role at Park Road next year; congratulations to her on this promotion, though she will be missed at Hesketh House. With the addition of the extra Year 6 class, this has led to the appointment of two additional class teachers, Miss Gent and Miss Lavelle. Miss Gent joins us from Scarisbrick School and Miss Lavelle from St Pius X School, both well respected Independent Schools.

Class teachers in September will be as follows:

Year 3 Mrs Crowther, Mrs Hilton

Year 4 Mrs Bass, Mrs Worsley

Year 5 Miss Gent, Mrs Joseph

Year 6 Mrs Forshaw, Miss Lavelle, Mrs Marsden The girls will find out which class they will be in on the move-up morning on Tuesday 25 June!

Finally, many of our families will be celebrating Eid al-Adha early next week, we wish them all the best in their celebrations! Please remember to let us know in advance if your daughter is going to be absent from school due to Eid
