HESKETH HOUSE NEWSLETTER 14 OCTOBER 2022
A note from the Head… It was lovely to welcome lots of families to our Open Morning last weekend; there was a very positive atmosphere throughout Hesketh House. A special thank you to all of the girls who helped out with our different activities and especially the Ambassadors who took visitors on tours of the school. There were plenty of lovely comments about how well they had spoken and how informative they were – very well done!
Year 3 enjoyed an additional workshop learning some Samba music, which they performed for the rest of the school later in the day.
Author Talk – Lenny Henry Tuesday 11 October Year 3 and 4 girls enjoyed an online talk earlier this week with author, comedian and actor Lenny Henry, to celebrate the publication of his book, The Book of Legends.
Mrs C Laverick Travelling by Tuba Friday 7 October All of the girls enjoyed a special session with Travelling by Tuba last Friday afternoon. They were taken on a musical journey around the world, finding out about lots of different and unusual instruments.
Unfortunately, due to some technical glitches, Year 5 and 6 were unable to connect, but we are hoping to share a recording of the broadcast with them soon. Diwali Dance Workshops Thursday 13 October Girls in all classes had lots of fun in our Diwali Dance Workshops on Thursday. They were introduced to The Ramayana, an important story retold by Hindus as part of their Diwali celebrations. They then learnt and performed a traditional dance, which followed the tale from beginning to end.
