A note from the Head…
We are now at the end of our first full week in School and the girls seem to be settling in to their new routines very well. I have been particularly impressed with how quickly our new pupils seem to have found their feet – thank you to everyone who has helped them out along the way!
If you need to contact School, the Hesketh House Office telephone number is 01204 434761 or you can email juniorgirls@boltonschool.org Please make sure that you include your child’s name and form in any email communication, as this enables us to deal with queries more efficiently.

Hesketh House Parents’ Association Meeting
Wednesday 20 September, 5.00pm
Worth a special mention is Amelia Zhu, who told us about her recent tennis success, in winning the U9 Lancashire Tennis County Championship – an amazing achievement!
The first meeting of the year will take place at 5.00pm next Wednesday at Hesketh House. Parking will be available on the Dobson Road Quad. All Hesketh House parents are welcome to attend. We currently have quite a small committee, so any extra help would most certainly be appreciated!
Coffee and Conversation
Thursday 21 September 8.30am – 11.00am
We also congratulated Maya Patel, who captained hercricket team to become Lancashire U11 County Champions in the summer. She was voted Players’ Player of the Year by her peers and presented with the Most Promising Young Player of the Year award by her club. Very well done Maya!
Please do encourage your daughter to let us know of her achievements outside of School. We are not always able to put everything in our Newsletter, but we do like to celebrate pupil successes in our Achievement Assemblies, which will be held on Thursday mornings.
As Mr Britton mentioned in his email at the start of term, we are keen to make more opportunities this year for parents to engage with School life. Whilst we know you are busy, we will invite you to events and hope that you will be able to come to School to meet us from time to time. A first such occasion would be Thursday 21 September, when we will hold a coffee and conversation morning from 8.30am to 11.00am in The Leverhulme Suite. You would simply arrive at the main Senior School reception. All parents are welcome, but it may be especially suitable for new parents to the School and we will be joined by some volunteer parents from the Friends of Bolton School. Mr Britton will give a short talk at 9.00am and have a question and answer session, as well as informal conversation. There will be other opportunities at other times of the day and evenings during the year, as well as online. Please do park off site and arrive via the Riley Reception.
Arrival at School
Just a reminder that our day starts at 8.40am, when the children are collected from the playground; please make sure your daughter arrives on time so that she can make a good start to her day.
If your child arrives late, then you will need to access Hesketh House via the Riley Centre, as the external gates are closed.
Birthday Treats
Some children like to bring in treats for their birthday to share with their class. Could we please remind you that anything sent in to School should be pre-packaged and clearly labelled with ingredients and allergens. These can then be distributed at the end of the day to be eaten at home, with parents’ permission.
