HESKETH HOUSE NEWSLETTER 1 DECEMBER 2023

A note from the Head… It is starting to feel very festive at Hesketh House with the arrival of the Christmas tree, decorations and fairy lights making an appearance and the beautiful singing to be heard in our Christmas Concert rehearsals. We also have the PA Christmas Disco this weekend, which should be great fun for the girls. Thank you in advance to the small army of parents helping out at this event! Mrs C Laverick Pupil Achievements Congratulations to those who shared achievements with us this week. We presented various medals and certificates for dance, football, gymnastics, music, swimming and tennis. Well done! Christmas Hamper Challenge Thank you very much to everyone who very generously sent in a Christmas pudding for this appeal. Girls from Hesketh House have collected over 350 puddings, smashing our target of 250 – thank you so much for your support! Well done to girls from our Cross Country Club too, who transported them all to the Senior School one by one, without stopping!

Year 4, 5 and 6 Informal Concert Tuesday 28 November 6.30pm

ITV Campaign – Britain Get Talking The ‘Britain Get Talking’ campaign, organised by ITV in conjunction with Mind and Young Minds, is designed to help ease stress and reduce anxiety by encouraging us to talk about what’s on our minds. There are some helpful tips and resources which can be easily accessed via the link below: Britain Get Talking | Home (itv.com)

Team Faatimah Bhuta Selina De Carpentier Imogen Fallows Ava McManus Georgia Nulty Victoria Piil Our Year 4 girls enjoyed taking part in a dodgeball competition at the end of last week, playing 10 games in total against other schools, with several wins as well as a few draws and losses. Mrs Marsden commented that the girls were a pleasure to take and worked very effectively as a team. Well done!

Recommended Read… Mrs Faulkner would highly recommend ‘Detoxing Childhood’ as a useful book for parents. She notes, ‘I have been reading a most interesting book which some parents may find useful—it is less academic than the author’s previous work, Toxic Childhood, and, so far, seems full of relatively easy to implement, useful advice to support families.’ A Message from the Girls’ Division PA The Girls’ Division Parents’ Association are once again selling luxury puddings as their winter fundraiser. These come highly recommended and are available to buy online by completing the order form that can be found here.
