A note from the Head…

It was lovely to see so many spectators at Sports Day last week. It was a fabulous afternoon of fun and competition in glorious sunshine, and a great opportunity to have parents enjoying the event with us; we do appreciate your support. Thank you also to our PA volunteers, who very kindly supplied refreshments for parents!

Photographs

The girls should have brought home the proofs of the recent class and group photographs, including details about ordering online. If you wish photographs to be sent to school you will need to order by Sunday 25 June. After this point, they can still be ordered, but these will need to be posted so there will be an additional charge.

Message from the Eco Committee

A reminder to send your unwanted and used batteries to school, where we will store them and send to be recycled as part of the Big Battery Hunt.

The girls have also come up with an Eco-Code: Everyone must play their part Care for the animals and the natural world Open the door to a cleaner planet

We are fully focussed now on our Summer Concert in the last week of term, and the girls are working really hard in rehearsals, you are in for a real treat! We are sending tickets home today – please return any you don’t need so that these can be reallocated.

Finally, as we head towards the end of term, please could we ask everyone to have a good look at home for any books, school sports kit or other equipment belonging to Hesketh House. Please return anything to us as soon as possible!

New Coach Route

There is a new stop on the Oldham coach route as the bus will now be stopping outside TGI Fridays along the way. We hope this stop will benefit some of our students from the Prestwich area, and may also be beneficial to those currently usingCoach 17 who board and alight at Church Lane/Whitefield and may wish to swap to this route.

All queries regarding school coaches should be directed to Logistics Co-ordinator Mr B Gould bdmgould@boltonschool.org.uk or(01204)434711.

Year 5 Drama Workshops

Monday 19, Tuesday 20 June

Year 5 enjoyed some drama workshops earlier this week, looking at elements from Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. They are hoping to perform for a small audience of girls towards the end of term.

Charity Day

Thursday 22 June

An action-packed morning was initiated by Year 6 girls who set up stalls on our playground and in collaboration raised a staggering £967.32. The afternoon began with our sponsored run, silence (which was welcomed by all!) and finally our danceathon. As always, thank you for your overwhelming support as parents; it is always inspiring to watch your children campaign so tirelessly for those less fortunate living in Malawi.
