A note from the Head…
What an incredibly busy few weeks it has been at Hesketh House, I think everyone has earned their half term break! I would particularly like to take this opportunity to thank all of the staff who have accompanied the various Patterdale Trips, which have been very successful and provided some wonderful experiences for the girls. Photographs from the final visit are included in this Newsletter.
I look forward to seeing everyone back in school on Monday 3 June, hopefully refreshed and ready to tackle the challenges of the final part of the year.

The Year 5 girls had a wonderful time at Patterdale Hall in the second half of last week. They took on lots of new challenges and thoroughly enjoyed their trip. The instructors particularly commented on how well they worked together and supported each other. There are plenty of pictures and videos on X, with some favourites included here.

Shakespeare’s Eleven – Final Selection
Tuesday 21 May
Several weeks ago in English lessons, Year 4 became football managers and were asked to select a Shakespeare’s Eleven Football team using an array of characters from the Bard's plays whose traits and skills would transfer to the positions of players in a winning team – wingers, defenders, goalkeepers, midfielders... Pupils worked collaboratively to make the best selections possible.
To check their choices, they consulted an expert in the game, Imogen's Dad! On Tuesday morning, he worked with Year 4 to provide a stimulating, informative and interactive presentation, sharing his knowledge and experiences and questioning them with an unbelievably inventive ‘To be or not to be that is the question’ quiz (Hamlet)! It was revealed that some players had Shakespeare character names; yes, there's a Puck and a Romeo and Juliet/te and many more!
Year 4 absolutely loved this engaging presentation. Amongst the lessons learned, being kind rang through as did, 'It's not in the stars to hold our destiny but ourselves' (Julius Caesar). Thank you!
Year 3 Assembly
