HESKETH HOUSE NEWSLETTER 24 NOVEMBER 2023

A note from the Head… This week we have had our Parent Consultation Evenings. Staff have found it useful to touch base with parents and hopefully you have received valuable feedback about your daughter’s progress. Our next Parents’ Evenings are in the second half of the Spring Term, but please don’t wait until then to contact us if you have any concerns. With December just around the corner, our Christmas Concert rehearsals have now started and, although it is still early days, I think you will be in for a real treat. Please make sure you have the date, Tuesday 12 December, in your diaries!

A Message from Greater Manchester Police – Fraud Prevention We have been sent some fraud prevention advice from the police, please see the flyer attached here. Primary Maths Challenge Some of the Year 6 girls have recently taken part in the Primary Maths Challenge. Certificates for our highest scorers were given out in assembly this week – we had an excellent 7 Gold Certificate winners, all scoring over 75%. Very well done to everyone who took part, we will let you know if any of the girls get through to the next round.

Also on a Christmas theme, members of the Parents’ Association are busy with preparations for the Christmas Disco and Hamper Raffle. Please do support them if you possibly can. Finally, please could I remind you that the girls should have a coat in school every day, as we do try to get outside at playtimes if at all possible. Coats should be plain black and must be named. Meet the Author – Tom Palmer Sunday 26 November, IWM North

Three of our Year 5 girls took part in a Writing Masterclass last week, alongside pupils from other schools. The girls enjoyed playing word games and wrote in a variety of genres. They were encouraged to write quickly, without planning time, in order to get as many ideas down as possible.

Some families may be interested in this event, which is being held at the Imperial War Museum North this weekend.
