A note from the Head…

It was lovely to see so many spectators at Sports Day last week. The girls enjoyed a fun afternoon of competition, and it was a great opportunity to have parents enjoying the event with us; we do appreciate your support. Thank you also to our PA volunteers, who very kindly supplied refreshments!

This week we enjoyed our Move-up Morning on Tuesday and Year 6 girls went to the Senior School for their Induction Day. Feedback from all of the staff was very positive, everyone made a good first impression on their new teachers! It was also lovely to welcome all of the other new children who will be joining us in September. Hopefully they are really looking forward to being part of Hesketh House.

Also on Tuesday, Year 6 had their Leavers’ Celebration Event, complete with Award Ceremony, slideshow and disco. There were also refreshments, group and family photographs and of coursetheYear6Leavers’ Hoodiestogohomewith. A huge thank you to the Hesketh House Parents’ Association who organised and paid for the whole thing – it was a fabulous evening and your efforts were very much appreciated!

We are now almost ready for our Summer Concert next week; the girls are doing well in rehearsals and I am sure it will be a really lovely occasion to end the year. Please could I remind you to return any tickets that you don’t need, so that these can be reallocated.

Finally, as we head towards the end of term, please could we ask everyone to have a good look at home for any books, school sports kit or other equipment belonging to Hesketh House. Please return anything to us as soon as possible!

Primary Languages Conference

Thursday 20 June

Last Thursday, a group from the Year 6 Choir were incredible ambassadors for Language Learning at Hesketh House: they sang four songs in Spanish written by Miss Eccleshare to celebrate the European Day of Languages. They performed them at the Primary Languages Network Conference in Warrington, in front of an audience of 140 primary Language teachers. Everyone was amazed by their singing and beautiful Spanish and the girls even got to learn Miss Eccleshare’s new Spanish song for 2024 and performed it with much gusto alongside the audience too! Excelente las chicas – Miss Eccleshare was extremely proud of you!

PD Charity Walk

Monday 24 June

Well done to all of the Primary Division pupils who took part in the Charity Walk on Monday. Despite the warm weather they were very enthusiastic about the opening dance and completed lots of laps of the course! Pupils’ final donations are being collected via Parent Pay, so please do remember to do this as soon as possible. Thank you for all your support!

Thank you to everyone who purchased tickets for the Bolton School Summer Festival. It was a great success - the sun shone and everyone seemed to have a great time. Huge thanks too to all the volunteers, the school staff and the Estates Team who enabled us to make this event happen and to those of you who donated so generously in so many other ways. Roll on next year!
