A note from the Head…
Thank you to all of the girls who have volunteered to come in to School tomorrow to help us with our Open Morning. We look forward to welcoming visitors to Hesketh House and they really enjoy meeting current pupils as well as staff. Our girls are excellent representatives of Bolton School and we always get very positive feedback from our guests; I am sure this year will be the same.
If you know of anyone who may be interested in a Bolton School education for their child, please do encourage them to come and see us.

Year 6 STEM Challenge
Wednesday 4 October
A small group of girls from Year 6 joined pupils from approximately 60 primary schools, for a morning of fun challenges in the Girls’ Division Great Hall. They had to design a space craft lander, complete mathematical puzzles and build a tower from straws. The girls really enjoyed the sessions, performing well and working effectively as a team.
National Poetry Day
Thursday 5 October
National Poetry Day was celebrated in a special assembly where the girls found out more about this year's theme, Refuge. We watched Avni Patel perform ‘The Secret Place’ and Tullah Maher recite ‘The House of Air’. We all watched a Save the Children animated film that showed the different reasons why people need to seek refuge and safety.
During the course of the day, many pupils explored the website Poetry by Heart, where there is a host of wonderful poems to enjoy and share. Some girls went on to read a poem ‘On the Move Again’ by Michael Rosen and commented on how it made them feel and the ideas that they felt were being described. Enjoy exploring some poetry over the weekend if you can!

The girls ran well in the first event of the season at Moss Bank Park last week The course was rather wet and quite challenging, but everyone finished in a goodposition and we were pleased with our team score of 81. Well done to all runners!
We are constantly looking for opportunities to celebrate our talented pupils and would like to know which children are currently engaged in sporting activities at 'beyond grassroots level'. This may be county or inter-league cricket, tennis, basketball, netball, hockey or maybe professional football academies etc. We invite you to complete the form here if your daughter participates in any sport at a level which is beyond her local club.
