HESKETH HOUSE NEWSLETTER 9 DECEMBER 2022
A note from the Head… Thank you very much to the members of the Parents’ Association and their many volunteers, who helped to make our Christmas Disco on Sunday such a wonderful occasion – the girls had a great time!
Finally, at the end of this term we sadly say goodbye to Miss Lindsay Harris, our Health and Well-Being Assistant. Miss Harris has been a real asset to Hesketh House and we are very sorry to see her go. We have appointed her successor, Mrs Claire Naylor, who will be spending a couple of days with us next week as part of the handover. Claire is a fully qualified nurse with lots of experience, so the girls will continue to be in safe hands! Mrs C Laverick Severe Weather Arrangements
The highlight of this week was undoubtably the Christmas Concert, Hosanna Rock! I was so proud of the girls and, I know from the lovely feedback we have received, that you enjoyed it as much as we did. The singing was amazing and the Year 6 soloists and speakers all did brilliantly, not to mention our Percussion Group and Year 3 dancers. A huge thank you to all the staff for their considerable efforts too! A link to the video will be sent out before the end of term.
We also appreciated your generous donations in our retiring collections, and we are delighted to be able to add a wonderful £508.48 to our ongoing Malawi fundraising campaign. If you would like to donate online, the link is here: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/smiles tomalawi?utm_term=gbk2ZEqba
The Severe Weather Arrangements were emailed to parents recently, a copy can be found here. The key points are that information will be posted on the front page of the school website (www.boltonschool.org), usually by 7.00am, and we would be grateful if parents would use the website as the first port of call. You will also be sent an email, and news often first appears on School Twitter Accounts such as @Philip_Britton, @sfboltonschool, @BSPDJnrGirls. Sew What!
Year 5 have finished their lovely little cow cushions at their after school Sew What! Club. The girls were delighted with their efforts and all of the cows have now been named! Thank you to Phoebe, our sixth form helper, for her endless patience!

Street Dance Performance for Parents Thursday 8 December Our dancers gave a lovely performance to parents this week, highlighting all of the things they have been learning this term. Well done girls!
Christmas – Cards and Gifts We have a Christmas post box at Hesketh House, in the reception area. Cards will be delivered each day from 12 December, free of charge. Please make sure there is a name and form on any cards that are posted! I would also remind you that any exchange of gifts between pupils should be on the last day only. Kidzone Holiday Club Christmas Holidays
A Christmas Pantomime Sleeping Beauty Thursday 15 December Just before the end of term, we will be watching a pantomime in the Girls’ Division Theatre, kindly funded by our Parents’ Association. We are happy for the girls to bring juice if they wish for the interval, we will provide a snack. The girls will also be allowed to add Christmas accessories to their uniform on this day if they wish – Christmas jumpers, t-shirts, sparkly headbands etc. Last Day of Term Thursday 15 December
Kidzone are running various activities during the Christmas holidays. More information can be found in the flyer attached here. Important Notice for Coach Travellers We regularly review CCTV from the school coaches. It has recently become clear that some pupils are removing their seat belts during the journey, even though these are spot checked as they leave school from time to time. This is obviously creating an unnecessary danger on the journey. We will speak with the pupils in an appropriate way and also remind them as we start the new year and we would be grateful if you could reinforce that message at home. GDPA Bolton School Luxury Puddings
A reminder that school finishes at 3.25pm on the last day of term. Coaches will leave half an hour earlier than usual, so please make sure you are at the bus stop in plenty of time to meet your daughter.
The Girls’ Division Parents’ Association are once again offering some amazing luxury puddings as their winter fundraiser. These come highly recommended!
The puddings will be available to buy online by completing the order form that can be found here and sending it to bsgdpa@gmail.com.
Please follow us on twitter @BSPDJnrGirls.
